Inferiority complex = Self Hating Somalis
Captain Warya replied to MAXIMUS POWERS's topic in General
Ive never heard of a Self hating Somali. Most Somalis, at least in my area, are crazy proud about their culture and background. I have even met some Somalis who are fascist-like in their ill-gotten pride(calling other Africans bantus/negroes/slave s etc.)and routinely mentioning how Somalia had the best airforce or how the Somali army was close to adis abba. When their was a multicultural day or the like at my school, Somalis where among the most vocal and proudest about their identity and they always stood out from the general student pop. -

VOA: Debate between Editors of Wardheernews.com and Awdalnews.com
Captain Warya replied to Suldaanka's topic in Politics
If the Situation in Somalia doesnt change in the near future, Somaliland can do whatever they want. However if this current government stablizes the south and brings a level of peace and development that is comparable with Somaliland than talk can begin. I think most Somalilanders still believe in Somaliweyne, after all we are the same people and they weren't the only ones brutalized by the siad barre regime. Islam and brotherhood is more favored by all Somalis than fake Nationalism based on Colonialist borders and spread by decivers with thier own agenda. What would a person from NorthWest Somalia chose? A secular "democratic government" that is filled with deceivers or An Islamic government led by Genuine Muslims and governs with Sharia Law. I think the answer is very obvious. Now with the West crumbling they will have less influence on our affairs. Islam will rule. -

Most if not all the roads are paved by chinese and all the major construction is done by chinese. I dont really agree with his viewpoint. He does manipulate alot of data. However I think alot of positives have come out of the collapse of government. Somali's went from a people who were nannied by Socialism to one the best capitalists and entrepreneurs. I think this will prove to be a huge advantage once Somalia is stabelized. This current government is very competent especially with Sharmarke. Inshallah we will see.

I just said **** it because I was actually getting depressed thinking about the state of Somalis. I just focus on other things now and just pray the situation will change.

MY question is why they appointed an anthropologist and a historian as defence minister. Surely they could have appointed someone better suited.

Efforts are underway to remove Shabaab leaders from the Terror list
Captain Warya replied to NASSIR's topic in Politics
People that are comparing this government to the old tgf are forgetting a few things: Firstly the American administration has changed its failed policy on Somalia thanks to Sh Sharif. They are actually willing to negotiate with the Islamists hence they let Sh. Sharif Be president. They are moving away from Ethiopia and they actually want Somalia to have a government now. Sh. Sharif is not a traitor or a puppet. He has obviously made a deal with the US and he is looking at the Interests of Somalia as a nation. He is alot smarter than these ****** who want to keep fighting. HOw can the former chairman of the Islamic courts become a traitor? Somalia has seen enough fighting. Tens of thousands of people have been killed and millions have become homeless. The best way to deal with this now is through negotiation and peace. The ball is in Somalia's court. There are active negotiations going on and the opposition has made fair demands. Inshllah there will be an agreement reached soon. 2009 is Somalia's Year. -
http://sirdoon.com/index.php?itemid=596 Good Read. This is the year for Somalia. The US has changed its policy and no more outside interference.

http://www.hiiraan.com/op2/2008/aug/wasted_talent_ the_absence_of_somali_students_from_post_graduate_ education.aspx There is a huge somali community in the western world and in asia. Imagine of the majority of the somali youth in the developed countries focus on higher education. Most of the kids I see that finish high school don't go to univeristy or college. There is a minority of students that opt for post secondary. There is also an alarming amount of somali youth invloved in gangs.
