Saudi Arabia started a rail network that will connect major cities across its vast land, mainly for transporting passengers and cargo, the lines will total 2,500 kilometers when completed, and the lines are all kind zigzags, the job is nearly complete or partly completed, and the project cost is just over $3.4 billion, the zigzag lines makes it more expensive! The Saudis have used German, Dutch, Japanese and Chinese contractors, and awarded each one on a different line that will connect cities. Going to Africa, China funded 100% a railway network in Angola, the project would be called Luanda Railway, is about 424 km from the capital to another city, project cost was about $350 million, average cost to build one kilometer of railway is roughly under $1.2 million. Somalia is lucky to have a great geographic location for its number seven shaped map, that makes it a lot easier to have a single/double line rail network that stretches from the capital, the majority of the lines would be straight line railways, crossing midpoints of inland to the far end of the country. Mogadishu to Bosaso lines would be around 1,300 kilometers, but this line would interconnect to Burco-Berbera-Hargeisa when it passes through Garowe, then this line would go as far as Borama and to the border with Djibouti, this is mainly a connecting line that starts at Garowe and end at the border with Djibouti, and is about 890 kilometers from Garowe. Mogadishu line through Beledweyn and terminates at Bosaso would be completely straight line, no mountains to dig or rocks to break, only thing would be having some bridges when the lines reach shabeele river areas in Balcad and other major locations. So in total if we are going very extreme, total lines of railways kilometers would be 2,200, it is not a zigzag lines, major advantage of this is the whole lines are straight lines, if we add lines that would connect from Mogadishu to the border with Kenya at Dhoobley town, then we can add just over 600 kilometers of railway lines that will connect major cities such as Kismaayo, Baraawe, Merka and others, so in total we can have up to 3,000 kilometers of railway lines, not a single African country achieved this, but Somalia with its peace on the horizon, can achieve much more complex projects.

Sxb, we can pay everyone's salary without dodgy UN, tell them to leave us alone since you know too much about them, leave us alone, we can manage ourselves and generate our own income to pay salaries for those working for the public. But in reality, it is this way, I pay you, obey my orders, you like to to be held hostage like that, am sure we are on same page here! We don't need their salaries and food aid, do you?!! -

^^ I don't even think the TFG would being happy even if they were included in the "cc", they want to be seen in the "To" field, but Puntland left them both, this really changes the whole thing we knew about who is running the country, at least 10% was run by the TFG, but not 100% as the letter clearly displays. Cajjab weeye dunidan, inteen aadnaa marka, hadii meel walba hey'ad xunoo UN ah inoo dhigatey isbaaro kiimikeesan. -
Blue, I have studied all major HADITH books, by name if I list them, shanta sunan, lixda sunan ee loo yaqaan Situ Umuhaat , labada suxaax, and others, very long time I studied them all, my memory is fresh like a chicken who laid an egg just seconds ago, and I never came across such hadith. Ps: Don't write it then if you don't have a reference, this is not a news or a university assignment where you forgot to mention Harvard style reference, this is Islam we are talking about, hope you understood my concern, yes it concerns us all including you and me and everyone else!

This book is about the work that needs to be done in order to achieve economic and social development in Somaliland. It consists of four chapters bearing the following titles: Economic Development Strategy, Social Development, the Development of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Development of Mineral and Hydrocarbon Resources. In chapter one the author discusses the economic development strategy that he regards as most appropriate for the development needs of Somaliland. This strategy consists of two main components the first of which is the development of the country's mineral and hydrocarbon resources and using the financial resources derived from this endeavour for achieving the development of the other sectors of the economy while the second component is the adoption of the economic development model of the newly-industrialised East Asian countries, which has proved to be so successful. Chapter two deals with the ways in which social development can be brought about in Somaliland, i.e. the development of education and health, the elimination of poverty and the attunement of the country's political system to the culture of its society. The author discusses the education and health goals set up by the UN in the Millenium Development Goals and how these can be achieved in Somaliland in a decade or so. The author also explains the role of education, health and poverty elimination in creating human capital for development. Chapter three is concerned with the development of agriculture (including livestock) and the natural resources of the country such as the forests and woodlands, rangelands, soil, water and fisheries. It discusses how Somaliland can become self-sufficient in its food requirements provided an arable land of about 100 000 hectares with adequate underground water, soils suitable for agriculture and flat or gently-sloping topography can be found. The chapter also discusses the improvement of the country's livestock resources, the protection and development of its fisheries and the rehabilitation of its rangelands, forests and woodlands. In chapter four the author discusses the country's mineral and hydrocarbon resources. He lists the country's mineral deposits that include nearly 10 valuable minerals including gold and the ores of other metals. He also indicates the existence of a wide variety of gemstones. As for the hydrocarbon resources, the literature cited by the author confirms the existence in Somaliland of the geological strata that form the basis for the accumulation of oil and gas and that, therefore, it is only a matter of time and proper exploration before these resources can be discovered in the country. The book is not meant to provide final answers to the issues raised therein or to tell the government of Somaliland how to deal with these issues. Rather, it is intended for stirring debate and discussion among Somalilanders about the possible ways in which these issues can be tackled. So many UN jargon words in there, I try to avoid words like UN Millenium Development Goals, they established this mllenium thing on 2000, and key targets were: eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality and empowering women reducing child mortality rates, improving maternal health, combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases, ensuring environmental sustainability, and developing a global partnership for development So did the UN achieved the mentioned goals in its 12 years of existence, not a single goal was achieved, why, that is another debate, everyone knows what the UN stands for, and what it does! We could do without them

Excellent points yaa Norf, it is the HOW we are discussing, and the implementation, any project can be started, but what is the point if there is no peace and if there is no accountability, this we all agree, but lets hope that we will resolve these issues.

Breaking news: Puntland Rejects the new constitution

And the sad fact is that the letter is directed to the International Community, there is no mention of Somali President, Prime Minister or Parliament Speaker, even without this, there is no mentioned of Odayaasha Dhaqanka Soomaaliyeed, or the Educated Folks. Wallaahi waa yaab, it just shows that the constitution is written mainly by the International Community rather than Somalis, this letter is clear indication of it, just look whom it was addressed to! Dastuurkuba haduu intaaba yahey oo hey'ado ii soo maliigeen, halkiisa ha iga joogo. We can do our own, by own own, for our own -
Narinia, lool, I did not photoshop anything as I don't know the how, but I don't know if it was only me who sees the 10 men faces, maybe after all, humans don't see things equally!

lol Sheikh hotel, maadba naga deysid kan, intaa ka sokoow, Every project I mentioned needs peace, security, strong government that will assess each and every project, such as government owned postal services, ports, aviation and so on, these need a very strong government in every department of its ministry, maybe my lack of mentioning of strong government is what is making the whole projects impossible. I think we are on the same page now, that we agree that we need strong institutions. I didn't mean the projects to be achieved while we are in this situation, waxan by a year time or 2 waa laga baxayaa, that is when we expect things to roll, and you take your Rabo Bank with you

The largest hotels and resorts in East Africa is owned by Somalis, from Kampala, Dar Es Salaam, to Zanzibar, Arusha, to as far as Lusaka, Nairobi, just shows you how capable Somalis are when they have peace, in a very short time they achieved that, even as little as 2 and 4 years, the largest resort in Tanzania is owned by Somali, built by him, designed by him, financed by him, and he employs more than 10 thousand local people(Tanzania government always thanks him for that). Kampala same story, Nairobi, haba sheegin, even the Luanda Chimera has mentioned is being partly transformed by Somali businessmen, they are even building temporary houses that will be used by foreign workers. I am not saying Ngonge is against my impossible projects, but he yet to tell me a revised version of how long it would take banking system to be established in the country(13 years is too much, I want to hear maximum 6 years).

^^ True, right now we have more than 15 universities across the country, and the number of primary and secondary schools are decreasing, you won't hear schools have being built but a fancy universities everywhere, I think they now number in 20s! So what is needed is accountability, and quality as you said.

Thanks guys, I will add few more projects, it seems that most of the projects I listed can be achieved far more less than the time frame I gave, 2025, but this is to give more time in planning, design, teaching & training etc, when few thousand nursing students graduate within 5 years from now, the jobs will be ready for them, they will work for free(pocket money would be given plus food) to get more practical experience on hand and to shine thine their CV, then permanent salary would be given to them when the Banking System is established together with revenue that is stable and able to collect taxation. Somali Post(Boostada) 2025, the list for this project would include: - Doesn't exist now, re-establishment of Somali Post, a standard postal system is major connecting player, thousands of branches would be created across the country, delivering everything, from standard to express parcels, to international. If Irish Postal company employs 10 thousand people, it is a small country(31,521 sq miles (81,638 km²)) compare it to Somalia(246,202 sq miles (637,661 km²)), imagine having postal branches in every town and city in Somalia, even in remote areas, what jobs can be created. This project when completed would create half a million jobs, that is a small figure, it could be more than half a million jobs. Ports 2025, the list for this project would include: - Upgrading existing ports in the country to a world class for easy access - Creating new ports small and big The labor market for this project is huge, and the demand is high, This project when completed would create 50 thousand jobs. Petroleum 2025, the list for this project would include: - This project speaks for itself, it can be started before when production kicks off - Oil and gas is a major resource for reveue This project when completed would create up to 20 thousand jobs, through process, production, consulting, sales, delivery, and general labor. Real Estate 2025, the list for this project would include: - Construction of houses and apartments in major cities and town, that would be given to the public in a very cheap price, sold or rented - The list for Real Estate can be extended to new areas, and it is a huge investment. This project would create up to half a million jobs during the construction period, and 200 thousand permanent jobs after the construction period through maintenance, security, technicians, and overall well beings of properties Communication 2025, the list for this project would include: - Somalia already enjoys good communication, in telecom wise, it is doing well, but needs to be upgraded, and managed well - Mobile and Land line system, the exist now but needs good planning and management - Radio and TV, these exist now but also needs planning and good management, real production of programs and documentaries are needed, real news producing and and editing. In total, the communication sector in Somalia would be huge, and would create more permanent jobs. This project would create up to 100 thousand jobs in tv, radio jobs, in mobile and land line communication Electricity 2025, the list for this project would include: - Speaks for itself and no explanation is needed, - Doesn't exist now and people rely on small expensive generators, huge project when undertaken, every household is needed to have access to electricity - Electricity would be provided from different sources, dumps and power stations, huge generators etc This project would create up more than 50 thousand jobs, of course salary money would come from the electricity charges, it would be very very cheap.

Ayoub, bal waddankii tag qurbahaad ku raagtey niyahow, sxb, in fact, Showqi wants to land in Xamar, the closest destinations are Hargeisa and Nairobi, in Hargeisa he can use his Canadian Passport if he pays that hefty airport fee of 70 dollar and exit 40 dollar, in return they won't stamp him Canadian Passprt. Showqi, you want to directly land in Xamar, with Turkish Airlines a must use airline, then Istanbul is a must transit spot, spend couple days there and go to the Somali Embassy in Ankara, few hours of train from Istanbul, they can even give you Somali Birth Certs, as well as Divorce Certs. Kobtan guji waa Safaarada Soomaaliya ee Turkey Otherwise, you can get Somali Visa with your Canadian Passport!

Abu Salman good points sxb, but one thing, you mentioned taxation strategy, how would that improve revenue when there are no jobs, taxation comes when there are plenty of jobs, hence why I mentioned the projects, they create JOBS, the government gets revenue from the workers, it then improves the infrastructure and other sectors such as health system, a balance has to exist. I am aware of Ethiopian Airlines and how they operate, but their target market is only limited to Africa, remember, Ethiopia is BIG country, and they fly to less than 10 destination domestically, a real shame indeed. Their constant profit has to do with their expensive ticket, you pay $350 dollar return ticket from Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa, an hour flight and few minutes, with Fokker, with a jet, an hour or less. A ticket to London will cost 900 pound and more with Ethiopian Airlines, with Turkish Airlines, you get 600 euro return from London, and yet, Turkish Airlines are in profit, because of the frequency they fly into world destinations, Ethiopia flies to less destinations but with very expensive tickets, so they in profit.

^^ Malika, maanta Showqi waxba waa ka dhaadhici la'yihiin, two posts I mentioned he can obtain Somali Passport to travel to Somalia, and keep his current Canadian one in the pocket, yet wali waxba waa fahmi la'yahey, war illeen tanoo kale

NGONGE;828409 wrote: In fact, everything can be done within FIVE years but for that to happen, you will need money (lots and lots and lots of money). A country that is trying to get back on its feet does not have the experience nor the ability to do all this in thirteen years, saaxib (even if it had the money). I know ma diidanid, and wish all the listed to happen, money is not the main factor, investment will come from various ways, in fact, each sector of the mentioned projects will fund itself through different ways, take example in the case of Rail Network, this project would be awarded to a Chinese company, they will fund it and provide advice, training, design, and construction would be done by Somalis together with the Chinese advisers. Banking system, it is technology that you need to manage banking needs, that technology can be easily obtained, and spread all over the country, Yes, experience and training would be needed, but if you refuse to advise r share your financial experience, then the goal would not be achieved, so the projects is for all to invest and train others. Etihad Airways, how old is she, yes, it is a government owned full of money, but they didn't pay full amount when they purchased or leased new planes that is a world class, they order 60 planes, and they pay later, we can use such schemes, and in few years, pay back that money, or in installments. True, bringing couple of factories into the country is not a big problem, you can bring as many as 50 factories into the country and make it into operation once you have the experience and training to operate them, in fact, the average factory you can bring into the country costs less than 100 thousand dollar, that is a salt processing factory, a printing factory, steel producing factory, shoe making making. A big new introduction would be renewable energy, the solar, the wind, the water, this sector or project alone can create up to 100 thousand jobs. I know I am going in circles, but xaraartadaaa igu sii kacdey un, shaahna waan cabey qorfeysan oo heyl iyo dhagayare ku jiro, maalmahan Jiniyadii waan ka reestey but will return to them later tonight, had to attend a session which is very important to me, and to them.

Making it so complicated, come Nairobi, and or Hargeisa, and you can get it in less than 5 minutes, waxaas o qeylo ah kaama dhamaateen, then head to Somalia, land in Xamar with your newly Somali Passport

^^ JB, corruptin and gangs will end soon Inshaa Allaah, lets all eradicate it, and punish those who are involved. Ngonge, qof xalwad ka dhargey, Juxa ayaad ula jeedaa, haku maqasho, 13 years is is a very long time, this is the average that Somalis in the diaspra spent living in the West, that is for those who arrived around 1998. green airlines is what made Turkish Airlines to be the number one all the time, minimum maitenance, and low fuel consumption, they achieved that in less than 5 years. Rail network is not difficult to build, a project that can connect one thousand kilometers can last less than 4 years, do that for few more thousand kilometers and you are on track for the 13 years. Don't tell me construction of hospitals cannot be built within 13 years, What about banking system, a lot of time weeyaan 13 years, banking system can be developed in a time frame of 7 years, that is even a bit too much. Jinniyada have a far better service and transport that you can travel in less than minutes to a place that humans will travel for days, this is what I like about Jinnis.
