Before we decide who the best player is in Africa, Have you had of a Conglease club known as TP Mazembe?, Well.. They achieved a treble not long after Congolese independence in which they won the championship, Katanga Cup and Congo Cup in 1966. TP Mazembe were African Champions in 1967 and 1968 and again in 2009 and 2010. At last year's Club World Cup, they were knocked out in the first round, after a 2-1 loss to South Korea's Poyang Steelers. How come you don't have Gyan, Ayew etc on your lists..

^^^ I do agree with some. Bob your squad hasn't developed and matured. I have seen nothing this year to suggest they have. In fact, I think they have probably regressed. Apart from Wilshere and Nasri, who has improved? Have they addressed defensive frailities? Defence at set pieces? Have they been hungrier when not in posssession. The answer is none, no, no, and no. Pretty bloody disappointing. Vamaelen, RVP and Fabregas has not helped. But we (Chelsea) have lost Essien, Lampard, Terry, Alex and half our squad in transfers at the start of the season. Man U have had their injuries, Man City will lose Tevez by the looks, and have other injured. It is part of football. I can also catergorically state that winning the Carling Cup will not appease gunners concerns. It would be an achievement, and might instill some confidence and belief in the squad, but really, it would just be papering over very big cracks, between they have to win it first. LOL

Ramos Marcelo Pepe are anything but world class. Neither United nor Chelsea would be idiotic enough to play such a high line against a forward line as quick and incisive as Barcelona's. Mourinho's tactics have been rubbish tonight and I actually blame his arrogance for that. I think he figured that with the form his team where in they could match Barca pass for pass, Sir Alex or Ancelotti aren't that naive. You clearly have forgotten Liverpool putting 2 past Barca at the Camp Nou a couple of years ago, United and Chelsea both kept clean sheets against Barca at the Camp Nou. As for disputable refereeing decisions Barca got plenty their way against Chelsea last year where they scored with their only shot on target in the whole match. This Barca side is untouchable going forward but as demonstrated amply in recent past keep it tight and compact and you have every chance of nicking one against their back 4 which is less than perfect. Absolutely superb display by Barce players.

It was Aaron Lennon, It's honestly the only time they've gone away from home this season and had a go, I don't think they should complain about that. They did really well first half. I still think WOY is on "cautious mode" He should have carried on going for it in the last 25 minutes or so. Once he took a striker off for a left-back, he tried to settle on the draw. ( Feel for Liverpool, was nothing in that game, cruel way to lose!)

*yawns* *yawns* *yawns*... Is it really Us versus Them or is it Us versus Us? Do we have to stop looking for someone to vilify, hate or pity and instead reach within ourselves to slay the demons that make us see the same reality in so many jaundiced ways? Can we do it?

Originally posted by nuune: quote:Originally posted by N.O.R.F: Spurs, please give us a point. you don't need to beg them, we will get the 3 points LOL nuune Am happy with the DRAW with Newcastle. Looking at bits of the Newcastle game, the Chelsea players seemed to rushed and not calm enough after the early goal conceded, and thats been the case for the last few games where we struggled to score. I think we need to be more mature and confident and actually build up and open up defenses probably rather then rushing things and just taking shots from everywhere, which wont get us the goals to win matches. Luckily we got Everton at home next, so we should win that. Otherwise, I will start to really doubt our title chances.

^^^^^Monday Nov 29 20:00 GMT Barcelona v Real Madrid Camp Nou, get your shisha ready. Arsene Wenger launched a new attack on Mourinho saying : "It's a pity to see that from a big club. It looks, frankly, horrible. You don't want to accept that." Mourinho and Wenger rarely saw eye to eye when the 'Special One' was Chelsea manager. And Mourinho responded by saying; "He should especially explain to Arsenal supporters how he can't win one single little trophy since 2005," Mourinho was quoted as saying in The Sun. "Instead of speaking about Real Madrid, Mr Wenger should speak about Arsenal and explain how he lost 2-0 against a team in the Champions League for the first time." The 'Special One' then stepped up his attack on Wenger, urging him to stop making excuses about his side's inexperience. "The history about the young kids is getting old now," Mourinho added "Sagna, Clichy, Walcott, Fabregas, Song, Nasri, Van Persie, Arshavin are NOT kids. They are all top players." Mourinho and Wenger had a number of clashes during the Portuguese's three-year tenure at Chelsea, the most notable of which was the "voyeur" jibe, when he accused the Frenchman of being obsessed with the Blues. "I think he is one of these people who is a voyeur," Mourinho said in October 2005. "He likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea." What a come back that is: if I was AW I'd never say anything about the special one. LOOL

^^^^ Your predictions are with Jose to win this at NOU CAMP?? As you said Mourinho lost at nou camp with Inter. (whatever the reasons) Ngonge Messi has scored an astonishing 23 goals already this season and ronaldo has scored a rather moderate 18- and its only november. the pair could well break the 50 goal barrier this year. This game surely will be a classic because the attacking flair and style of both teams makes it almost impossible to think it will be anything other than entertaining. I will give the edge to barca because they are at home and because they have a certain magic about them which moneybags madrid do not! Ps: Am sure you all know Jose mourinho is suspended. Pss: hopefully everyone should report to this occasion of THE DAY!!

Originally posted by N.O.R.F: I don't remember a game with so many world class players on show. Back in the 90s games between Milan and Juve were fantastic (look on youtube). Messi vs Ronaldo Ozil vs Iniesta Alonso vs Xavi Macherano vs Kadira Alves vs Ramos Madrid have more fire power but will they a) get the ball and b) finish their chances? Good points Norf, Arguably the greatest rivalry (note i didnt say derby)and biggest match in world football is taking place this monday and i for one can't wait. its spain vs catalonia, its mourinho vs guardiola, its ronaldo vs messi! Ps: As long as Mourinho doesn't employ his usual brand of nullifying tactics and probably come up trumps. Pss: I also think It's going to be a scrappy game with 1-1 goals each and one of the goals scored by a defender.

My heart says Barcelona, my head says draw. It'll be interesting to see how Madrid, who haven't really been tested defensively, will try and get their front four (who aren't exactly hard working) to put their defensive shifts in, because against Barca you need every one of your outfield players giving 100% off the ball. I'll be most interested to see how Oezil plays. In theory, he could be Madrid's biggest threat. All he does is float around and find space - and Barca leave more of it than anyone - especially in behind them, and Oezil is better at exploiting balls behind in that space than anyone in world football. On the other hand, if it turns into a physical battle, he'll be totally and completely anonymous. Ps: Guardiola has an interesting tactic of his own to nullify the attacking threat of Ronaldo. He intends to place a large mirror at the side of the pitch on the half-way line facing inwards. He figures this will keep Cristiano quiet for the entire 90 minutes. I'm surprised nobody has thought of this before.

Abed comes to school one morning all beaten up, his face all blue, and swollen. The teacher asked him: Teacher: "What happened to you poor Abed?" Abed: "Our house is very small so I have to sleep with my parents. Yesterday night, after turning off the lights, my mom said: 'Chou?' and my dad replied: 'Chou?' so I also replied 'Chou' and my parents beat me up! The next day, Abed arrived at school also beaten up. Worried, the teacher asked him what has happened. Abed answers that the same thing happened. So the teacher thinks for a while and tells him not to answer 'Chou' tonight. The day after, Abed arrives totally beaten up, even more than before. The teacher surprised asked him what happened? Abed: "Well, when my mom said 'Chou?' and my dad replied 'Chou?', I stayed quiet as you said. After 10 minutes my dad said 'Gité?' my mom replied 'Naam git' so I said : 'Wein kinto?' !!! stole this one from some.....?!?

NG.. its part of the problem, am not saying if he goes to another club he'd be an awesome assistant. For Chelsea his been doing a good job at Chelsea and my concern is why do it now? S*tu!D Russian Positives are, we've lost few games but we still sitting at the top by goal difference. once we have our injured players back we should be alright. And hopefully Drogba should start scoring. Roy and his 'foot off the pedal' approach did LFC no favours. They were on, and still were doing okay against the Hammers. I don't understand the negative towards Goal Difference with goals begging to be scored there. Is Hodgson a complete dumbass or what?!?! And to add insult to (potential) injury, not only did they not score second half, but he had THREE of LFC strikers STILL on the pitch 2/3 of the way through the second half - Torres in particular was still on why exactly? The guy is a joke, 3-0 ahead but he doesn't even do the basics, unless he was desperately hoping that after 60-70 minutes Torres was suddenly going to bang in a hat-trick and boost LFC's Goal Difference - was that worth the (injury) risk?!? The hammers were so poor, You cannot over-hype this performance. They are rock bottom, they may well stay there and you're still joint on worst Premiership starts with only 92/93 worse on GD. At this rate you won't make 60 points by some margin, if 98/99 is anything to go by then you might make 54 which on recent seasons might end up as high as 7th or low as 9th. Ps: I agree once Essien,Lamps and JT come back we should be able to stay top three till January. Then we should get a defender and a playmaker. Pss: I also read that Ancelotti wants to resign. Chelsea have dismissed rumours of Carlo Ancelotti quitting the club as "absolute nonsense" after it was claimed that the Italian manager tendered his resignation and saw it rejected by the board.
