NGONGE;744416 wrote: ^^ Chelsea also played "unreal" football at the start of last season. Did they win the title? Lol Do you think you´re as good as united right now then? Only areas Liverpool rival United is centre midfield for depth, United have more strength in depth when it comes to defenders, wingers and strikers plus I'd say generally their first choice in each being stronger too. United still own Liverpool as their respective 8-2 and 2-0 wins over Arsenal showed quite explicitily. So is citeh hammering spurs 5-0 Chelsea did start well last season true, also they had an aging team right, do you see an aging team to the two I've mentioned? Tuujiye, will be there competing with them but taking the title between the four teams, spurs and gunners are not.

^^^ should label this thread as R-rated. So much explicit been thrown on the table. Interesting read for the neutral.

NG: Liverpol for the title? Caadi iska dhig sxb, not for me. But they're definitely heading the right way. Every side that has won the title except Arsenal in 2004 have had a solid brittish spine in their first 11... So i think Daglish has picked up on that and that is what he's trying to build. Man Utd, Man City have all strengthened and look good for the title. The football they are playing is unreal and can't see you past them two being in the top two come the end of the season.

NGONGE;743790 wrote: ^^^ Fourth? I'm telling you that we'll win the league and you talk to me about fourth? caarada iska masax warya, aduunko wuu is badalay. You certainly have some things in your favour. Owners willing to back the manager, and have allowed him to buy the players he wants rather than the signing the fans may necessarily have wanted. A manager in Dogleash that the fans actually want and idolise also makes a big difference, as he can get on and do the job he needs to do. (i.e. not many fans having a pop at him over the loaning of Aquillani, whereas last year it was all doom and gloom). Also a manager with a winning pedigree helps. A better squad of players (more balanced) and an inform, injury free striker for once. But most importantly for the scousers, is the complete lack of any distractions in Europe, this will be the biggest help to them getting a top 4 finish. Arsenal and Spurs will have to stretch their squads to the limit should they progress in either European Competition. Spurs, Arsenal, United, Citeh and us could in theory have to play anywhere from 6 to a possible 27 more games depending on FA, League Cup runs. Liverpool I would say are more nailed on for 4th place than many would have you believe, and any sort of run of form could take them further. Ps: Don't think you would be anywhere near as impressive without Suarez though. Hats off to King Kenneth though.

Not really, even with Gerrard injured he couldn't get in the team. He's a good player but nothing special, shirks 50/50 challenges and goes missing alot, just depends where you play him. Didn't AVB sell him (for less) when he was at Porto? Poor fall back option from Modric, he's nowhere near as good. He will have more impact than Benayoun though. 12m for a 28 year old who isn't first choice is good business by Dalglish and Comolli. Meireles has made a pointless move, he'll struggle to nail down a first team place at Chelsea. Lets see what happens.

Now I could seat back and say "oh I could continue being addicted to IKEA stuff" as long as the giving. Well done
-
Norf are you serious with that statement? I would agree with that he'd be a luxury to have on the bench rather than an important figure.
-
Miereles?? waste of 12 million. Certainly won't improve the team. Just another squad player who will moan in a few months time that he is not playing enough. He will have more impact than Benayoun though I am pretty sure Meireles left Anfield because of the lack of games he'd play next season with Lucas, Henderson and Adam performing so well, plus Gerrard soon to return to the team. But, I can't see him getting that many games with us either. We've got Lampard and Ramires, who played well together last season, plus that Romeu we've just signed from Barca. Not to mention Essien, who will want the odd game when not in hospital. And John Obi Mikel is still on our books. And McEachran will want to build on the progress he made last year. And Mata or Malouda might drop into midfield if Torres, Sturridge, Drogba, Anelka, Kalou and Lukaku have taken up all the forward roles. Oh dear momma!

^^^ You realise what Arsenal miss today; a set of bollocks and that hunger to win. The likes of Viera, Keown etc, they'd spill blood to win against ManYoo. This Arsenal team are fannies, half of them look like they couldn't give a toss. Ps: I don't think LOz and Bob will ever come to Sol for the next coming months.

Villas-Boas new rules Villas-Boas not taking anything less than perfect New Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has set some new rules that the team have to follow now. He seems very serious and wants to get back the EPL title and create a legacy that not only fans but the critics will remember. The New rules set by Villas-Boas are: - Players must always eat breakfast and lunch together on training days. - Muslim players Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou must still sit with their team-mates during meals - even though by observing Ramadan throughout August they must fast during daylight hours. - Unnecessary noise is banned during training sessions. A gardener was even told to stop trimming the hedges as he was making too much of a racket. - The manager wants his side to train in white - and black adidas kits have been sent back to the manufacturers. Villas-Boas said: 'I trust my man-management abilities and I base my decisions on that.' 'The season is long, disappointments will come, but players have to live up to standards. ' 'Pre-season is for establishing your ideas and the players have been responding to that. ' 'We look for excellence and look to win back the title that escaped us last season. We'll do everything in our power to win it back.' These new rules may be hard to follow especially for the 2 Muslim players as they will no doubt have to go through vigorous training sessions while keeping a fast as the hunger for trophies in Villas-Boas is as clear as daylight. Andre wants to emulate the success Mourinho and Ancelotti had achieved with Chelsea and it's very clear that he's not going to accept anything less than Perfect. Villas-Boas said 'We can only dream to emulate what Carlo did in his first year and, hopefully, more.' Chelsea are going to be facing Stoke at the start of the EPL and then only will we see the affect that Villas-Boas' new rules have on the harmony of the squad. The Chelsea boss seems confident as he said 'Stoke brings you the best of British culture: emotional stadium, direct players and style, in a positive way. 'It's a good challenge to have in our first game of the season.' We all know that the fans, critics and the Chelsea board are going to keep a very close eye on Villas-Boas and his tactics. A loss might shatter the team's morale so he has got to make sure that Chelsea get the 3 points today.

On the incidents in arsenal's game, Song is a disgrace and I'd like to see 5 game bans for this sort of obvious snide thuggery, cowardly and nasty. Gervinho was tripped, slow motion replay show this, but he was already going down and clearly looking for the contact which should never be a penalty, but Barton over reacted and there was no need to drag him up by his collar. Still I don't think aggressively picking someone up is a sending off offence and the ref probably got it right giving Barton a yellow. Gervinho only slapped Barton but any strike in the face is a red card and cannot be argued. Onto Barton falling over like he did, that was pathetic but is seen in all the european leagues every weekend. Players go down like pansies to over play the contact to the ref, it's pathetic but part of the game now and Barton is not alone in doing it. Steven Taylor is just a joke, the on the line handballs followed by going down as if winded by a ball to the stomach and now trying to tell the ref he'd seen an elbow when he obviously hadn't. I think the FA need to clamp down on this kind of rubbish an all, ban him and stop his lies! Ps: Ngonge once ya watch a live match ya don't need to watch it over and over again.

Still really excited about this season, Torres looked like a different player! Once we sign a creative midfielder + winger I can see Torres scoring at least 25 goals in all competitions. I'm happy with a point anyway, Stoke still are looking to strengthen the squad in this transfer window.
