  1. Silent SIsta: I was in love just the way u are and I couldn't get him off my mind.. upto today walaahi I laugh and cry when I think about him, but you know what I still have him in my life.. as a friend. He is not married and he doesn't have GF but then I hate to crawl back... so he has been in my life for 4yrs now as a friend. We are constantly in touch, we write, we chat on the phone... although he is too far away for me to meet him in person, yet I would give the whole world to be able to see him again. The irony is, this doesn't stop me from meeting other guys, chasing my dreams or even having crushes. U see having him in my life made the difference, i am sure if he was cancelled out like u did with urs.. I would still be in the depression episode and not be able to go on. So sista, if u can be in touch with him regardless of him being married, I think u should try that... it should help.. coz he will be talking to you about his wifey, and their problems and the more he does that the more u begin to loosen that grip he seems to be having on u... Good luck sweetie.. I am sure u will come out just fine.

HOld up sisters... Now u twisted the whole thing... I held my pride and said bye.. trust me.. but then he smsed me and said.. I crushed a beautiful dream.. and that he hates me for doing that... the thing is I told him that I liked him and that I wanted something more than a fling.. that is when he backed off.. but then he said that i made him feel alive and that he wasn't a being who was merely existing for the sake of existence... see now won't that confuse u... now that is what got me all confused... and believe me... I roll like no tomorrow... to me.. I live with one motto... " Keep one foot in the other out"... And I AM NOT IN LOVE with the guy... just like him.. as in crush!
  8. Queen: forget about these woers... let me tell u what to do for your mom.. Take her to a Spa and girl.. let her have the pedicure, manicure, facials.. wrapped up with a nice Thai massage.. hmmmm hmmm hmmmm now that should get the old lady rock n rolling...As for my mom well I do tend to surprise her from time to time....but that special day normally I take her out to one of my Favorite restraunts and tell her jokes till she laughs her heart out....and on our way I buy her ice cream... to lower that pressure... since she has been laughing long

    Some advice!

Sophist STAY OUT! Now the rest, I was introduced to this guy a while ago, and we were friends at the beginning but then lately it got to be more than that. Now when I thought the boat was rocking, the brotha says that we should call the quits because he has unfinished business somewhere else. He is the kind of person who chickens out when things begin to get sticky, and needs someone to push. My question to you is should I push him to consider this relationship ( mind you, he is really a great guy and not many like him come around often) or should I let it go like I did. I said my goodbyes, and I am kind of sad about it but then I feel like I didn't say all that I wanted to...what do you guys think?

  21. Health they say is a concern that drives them to using cutlery... hmmm interesting. I am sure if we dig and dig we are sure to find some flaws in both the use of cutlery and hands. Athena: Ms.Hygenic, I am rather impressed with your theories not to mention ALMOST convincing. I am sorry sista but the restuarant in question is actually a classic indian... and I happen to love to eat with my hands. But that doesn't mean I place my whole hand in my mouth with the food rather there are infact appropriate ways to eat your food without being disgustfull. As for washing your hands, my mom thought me well. I wash my hands before any meal with or without the use of cutlery. I suggest u do the same since u r so concerned with cleanliness. As for the bacteria what are your antibodies doing? Sleeping I suppose?...We all know that anything hygiene began with Islam, and now we doubt what we have been told... SHAME SHAME on you! Hooyadeey waxey tiraahdaa, " Gabadhii hooyadeed dhalmada bartay" I hope u follow my drift.
  22. Ahmed Yasin's successor Abdul Aziz lies dead in Gaza. My thought is the palentinians have informant amongst them, coz there is no way Isrealis would know of his whereabouts unless someone tells them. It is really sad to see Muslims divided so badly. My take on the situation is Aqir Zamin is close, nomads better buckle up, the roads are getting pumpier. Allah Rahmah!
  23. Etiquettes are codes of behaviors that direct an individual to act in a certain way formally or informally. Taking a closer look we may draw the conclusion that our culture lacks majority of the universal etiquettes. But then isn’t this a proof that humans differ in their behaviors depending on their cultural morality? Aren’t we being unethical and inconsiderate in expecting an individual to act in accordance with laws set by the western societies? Many “educated” and “civilized” Somalis tend to belittle those that don’t adapt to the western way of protocol. For instance, as a Muslim society Islam directs us and told us that we should eat with our hands. “Educated” Somalis when they see this, automatically get the impression that this person is from “baadiye”. What sets us apart from the rest? Aren’t our culture, our behaviors and most of all our ways of life that project our identity? Why do we feel the need to adjust and comprise our values in order to serve that of other societies? Why can’t eating with your hands be acceptable to others as using cutlery is to us? I am sure some of you can relate to this. I write about this coz the other day, I went out with a group of friends, there was a Somali brother mind you, he is well educated, and I somehow look up to him as mentor, but then the most peculiar thing happened. We entered a restaurant and I had biryani rice with mutton/goat meat. As usual I like to eat with my hands, especially when it is rice. I get full satisfaction of the meal when I do that. Anyways, my friends who were a mixture of western countries were all enlightened and delighted. So they joined me, but my Somali friend looked at me with disappointment and said, “ Hibo in aan ku baro waaye sida loo isticmaalo qaadada iyo fargetada”. I looked at him stunt at the words that just hit my ears. Here is a brotha whom I thought was educated, and yet he sees me as uncivilized simply because I used my hands to eat. And I said, “ Amin ama ha aaminin sida loo isticmaalo qaadada waxaa ley baray aniga oo 5 sano jira balse waxaan jeclahay in aan ku dhagnaado dhaqankeyga oo aan bal tawaabka korarsado maadaama dambigeyga kale ay badan yihiin.” He was bewildered and went on lecturing me. My ajinabi friends couldn’t understand what the fuzz was all about, and I told them what was happening. They told him, we were expecting you would lead the way for us since u belong to the same country as she does. He sat there ashamed, wishing he could turn back the hands of time. So this kind of got to me, reflecting upon some of my Somali friends who complained of the same things as well. So my question to u is, “ What made it acceptable for us to go out of our way to please our ajinabi friends by adopting their ways?
  24. Can't find it! Since we have time differences and most of us won't be around when the admins are available to open the rooms, then why don't we increase the number of admins, so that the room remains open most of the time, and all the nomads including myself who live in a different time zone can have the leisure to enjoy a timely conversation with their follow nomads?
  25. Are there specific times when the room is open, cause ever since it has been opened I have no luck in finding it?
