Besbaaso/Modesty: Gurls those are alot of conditions.. .wish u all the best... Originally posted by Geel-Jire: Whatever happened to the era where one would settle for Mr or Mrs not so right! Everybody is going about he/she should be (what they should be but not what they are) this and that. How about getting Mr Normal and shaping and moulding him into Mr Fine or Right? I think I would respect a lady that appreciates her man's shortcomings and works with him on overcoming them and eventually end up with fine marriage and happy successful life. After all, life is not what it is, it is what you make of it. So, nomads cut the dreaming and start living the ugly world we are in. A world where a difference is made by the power of one's thought, the intellectual use of time and effort employed. Quote: "what u want and who u want changes by the day if not hour!!" - truely said. And, remember this: simplicity is bliss. Geeljire: for someone to start working with the shortcomings one must first find that person with the basic qualities one would look for... and then we can deal with the complimentaries as they come... u c... for example.. if I hate.. someone with "balwad"...dat is.. smoking, chewing, drinking etc... I won't marry some guy who does any of that.. because I will be working on his bad habits with him tomorrow... capische? No man its not done like dat.........U gotta accept and live with the habits this person has thru tolerance and compromise....so the goal of this thread was to see if we can find someone who has the qualities dat set the fundamental grounds for later improvements.... but no one is saying... leave ur husbands or wives simply they rn't mr. or ms right.

I don't think certain creed or Sheikh should dictate where you heading or what to believe. Everything is written in Black & White, so Somalis stop the shirk. I never thought I would encounter Somalis who followed certain Wadad in here; given that they are more educated than that. Back home I was shocked to see the assimilation and the act of shirk performed by many. Worshipping literally certain sheekh or wadaad and like a monarchy when he died his son would replace him. Subxana Allah, Mohamed SCW asked his people to not worship his grave or ask him to talk to Allah for their sakes, rather he said, pray for me & All the muslim Umah. You don't need certain person to lobby for you, Let your Good deeds do the job. No one is more closer to Allah than you are. Pray and He will listen.

This passage reminds me how many fellow Somalis react when I tell them about the Messiah. They sound devoid of wisdom. They do not hear or reason. Brother Warsameh We are told in our Quran and by our Prophet PBUH that our religion has been completed for us and all that we need to know is sealed in this Book of Quran. So we don't need to listen or even consider a Kufar like urself. But surely we are told to debate so that we may try to save u from the flames of Hell. Warsame: Mark 6:3 - Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. If Jesus is the son of God as u refer to him, than why did your bible itself refer to him as Son of Mary? And how can the son of a Divine being ever have brothers? Subxana Allah Don't tell me its his half brothers, coz we all know the DNA matches.... How can you not be moved when u read or hear this? Quruxleey, I am glad to see the spirit of patriotism in the air. Not many somalis feed as we do sista... One thing I really love is, We don't have to call our families before we knock their doors. Seriously, no need to set appointments, just knock and step inside... Although many would disagree and say that its invasion of privacy and that people may want to go outside and change their plans for your sake.. I don't think so. If u r going somewhere and someone comes, u can just stay back for 5 minutes and tell them that u were going out. They will understand.. but to eliminate the whole concept of it... will actually cause people to be unclean ( it only applies to those who are lazy). When u know someone is gonna be knocking at ur door anytime... u will scrap ur bathrooms, kitchen and make sure u make ur bed b4 u step out of it... just incase I guess we made habits based on wisdom

I was sent a multimedia message and I thought I would share it with you. A girl loved to listen to music more than anything else. One day, she was listening to her favorite music and her mother was reciting the Quran. Her mother told her " Can u please put this music off I want to concentrate on my Quran?". The girl got really upset and told her mother to go to another room and not bother her. The mother tried concentrating again and couldn't and she asked her daughter to turn it off. The girl got up, snatched the Quran from her mother's hands and threw it away. Instantly, she became a four legged animal with fur. They r still trying to determine wat kind of animal she has turned to... Subhana Allah.. she is currently being treated in a hospital in Oman. Ya Rabi.

Kaleido: LOL... What is with all the animosity sista? We couldn't agree on a topic so wat.. get over it girl ......Well.. we don't live at home any more...so if we can't leave them it won't harm if we just try to adapt to their ways... won't u say? I am sure walaahi u do more than I do.. When something about my people embarrases me I share ... if u r not bothered.. I would say u r just plainly selfish! Coz u dont want ur ppl to look nice to behave in civilized manner... I am proud when I see someone representing my country and stands out beautifully dressed and behaves well.. I smile.. coz it brings pride...waxa xun waa la sheegaaa

Seriously folks, Walahi Somalis do need some civilzation. Imagine this. I went to African Day Celebration held in Abu Dhabi last night. It was an event organized by all the African embassies. Just another way of showing off our rich cultures. Anyways it said on the card, u either wear formal attires or your traditional clothes? Our so called vice-Ambassador ( I don't know wat they call him, but he is next to the ambassador) was wearing, a green jacket, black plants, blue shirt and a red tie? Just tell me how in the world would someone who is supposed to be diplomatic and representitive dress like dat? What is more....Islaamo ( Old women) came around 12 midnight with Jalaabiib ( The top part of either brown or blue and a printed Baati at the buttom)..Why would u come to even at that hr when its about ending... the even started at 8 pm. Our boys were wearing jeans, and our sisters were well dressed actually...Some of them were wearing dirac and other were wearing evening gowns.. which was quite appropriate. Even it turned out that some old men were really dressed nice.. with their matching suits... but the worst part was.. the tooth picks... common people... U either cover ur mouth when u r picking ur molars or u just don't open ur lips...Gosh...it was so embassaring. What was more, the dinner was buffet, Somalis were the only people cutting the queue... I accidently met with couple of somali sisters whom i didn't know at the desserts table ( U always find me there ).. I smiled at them ( blame it on america, they thought us to smile at everyone just to be courteous) and guess what happened to me? YUP u guessed it right... They just reciprocated my sweet gesture with an attitude... "Huruufitaan".. I was like wat did I do to deserve dat? But then I ignored them... Folks plzz.. if u r better than ur relative in ways of society plzz educate them.... walaahi... we seriously need some reform in dat department.

ceebla remianed quiet for few minutes to recollect her thoughts and said, " I think he is came up with this idea coz he is trying to be original.".. Caasha gave her the look, " I like it don't get me wrong" said Ceebla trying to relieve her friend who seemed to be mesmerized by this strange man's ways. " I think he has been stalking me, I mean think of it? He knew my name, how in the world did he know my name if he hasn't been stalking? " " U have a point" agreed Caasha. "Do u think he left me this shiny shoe because he found out that I was a fashion conscious woman who would actually fall for this shoe?" Ceebla exclaimed! Continue girls.

Missy........I don't think I can translate all that I have written... by the way are u always gonna beg someone to read or translate for u... words written in ur mother tongue? Shame on you gurl! Ok this is just a brief recount of wat i wrote.. Just this once... Missy... next time me won't do no translation .. capische???? Putting the religion aside, its a matter of common sense. Think about it, this person u have just met and with whom there is no gauranteed eternal love that will bond you forever, would u ever leave your parents who love with unconditionally? Brought u up when u were just a baby and laid on bed helpless? Would u? The answer is surely NO. So I don't think anyone in their right mind would defy their parents to be with someone.. The Prophet when asked wat were the three things Allah swt loved the most.. he said: 1. Salaatul Fil waqtihaa ( Praying the prayers on their times) 2.Birul waalideyni (Obedience to parents) 3. Jihad fi sabili laah ( Jihad in the name of Allah) There was this incident that occured during the lifetime of our Holy Prophet. Among the Sahabis, there was this man ( I don't remember his name) who was very well known for his pious, virtue and his love for Allah. He basically did all that was required of him and much more. One day his wife came to the Mohamed scw, and told him that her husband was dying. The Prophet sent Bilal (ra) & Ali (ra) to check up on the man. When they got to the house of the dying man, they saw that his case was critical and that he was gonna die any moment. They being muslims tried to get him say the Shahada...but ironically he couldn't.. And this was not a good sign. So Ali sent Bilal back to Mohamed scw, and Mohamed sent for the dying man's mother, his only living parent. Mohamed asked her about his behavior towards them(tha parents). She said he was basically everything a mother would want her son to be, but when it came to the matters that concerned his wife, he always sided with his wife. And that is something she doesn't like, and was hurt very much by it. Mohamed scw knew wat the reason was for the man's inability to say the Shahada. He told the mother, " Anyone who does harm to his parents may go to Hell".. Having heard this, the mother got concerned and said that she forgives her son of any harm he might have caused her. Mohamed said that he would know if she means wat she said, if the man says the Shahada before he dies. He sent Bilal back to Ali to try to make the dying man say the Shahada...and when Bilal got there, the man was already saying the Shahada. And then it was clear that the mother's heart was clean towards her son. This tells us how important mothers and not to forget fathers are to Allah.. so why not try to please them. You can always find another love..it just takes time. So my advice would be to 4get about that woman and marry one which his parents are happy with. Then Allah will surely bless him and his family.
