  1. Off course they are. I used to be in my years b-ball team and all the boys were after me. Okay, okay... perhaps I am exaggerating it a lil but sporty girls are fit.... okay i'll let the bros say their bit .... i think this was meant for them! Sorry.. I am just bored today .... bye! I see bordem can have quite an effect. Well like ameenah hint at, yes the guys will un-doubtable find the atheltic girls quite attractive. We can all n i mean all of us be quite Shallow @ times, just they way we are . So be warned Ladies But dont panic my nomad sisters, I dont want to see a mad rush of ppl joining their local rugby club or worse yet their local salsa dance classes in the hope of acheiving some physical perfection. Not all nomads are they same. Indeed some guys positivly hate the more sporty looking females  , but if you asking me they are not quite right in the head. And dont be light headed enough to buy one of those work out videos that keep changing every summer i.e. 'Thai Yoga-Boxing'. All that toning you might acheive will soon dissapear once your daily routine of Baaric eyo baasto works its why through you. lol Wow i went quite abit off the topic huh, i guess i must be quite bored me self  oh well good advice anyway even if i say so me self.
  2. Ok Let me be Harsh for a sec Bro. WHO'S WEARING THE TROUSER IN THIS RELATIONSHIP? AND ARE YOU SERIOUS WHEN YOU SAY " I really don't think she's ready, or even if it's possible! Should I do it cause I love her "???? However as you are given it thoughts and indeed are having doubts, then surley you know what to do. Of course it is dificult when you put you self in the face of such temptation, but saxib you dont wanna be committing such a bigg sin. So my advice is tell her no, but you wil have to gentle in teh way you explain yourself.
  3. " Such practice is unacceptable to Islam, and if the girl is not consenting the marriage contract is to be dissolved by law. A young woman once complained to the prophet that her father married her to his nephew without her consent. The prophet gave her the option of dissolving the contract, to which she answered: I accept what my father did, but I wanted to make the point to women that the decision is up to them and not to their fathers." I point that western observers/commentators fail to pic up on interestingly enough. Also another item which is not strongly emphasised (perhaps our fault here as muslims) is the fact that what we muslims do and What Islam is can be, and unfotunately all to often is, 2 different things. Why?? The lack of full observance as regards to tenants and rules of Islam in its Sublime Perfectness. And indeed in some cases the pre-meditated miss use of the rights given to muslims (so that a particular agenda my be satisfied), is one of the reasons why many countries/ organizations/ individuals can so successfull misguide so many into accepting their Fallicous and baseless arguments. So what to do Mr Millenuim. The buck should surely stop with use on this right. As we are suppose to be the torch bearers, The Dawa Carries the examples of what Islam is all about.
  4. Well saxiib i see ur have not wasted any time contributing to the forums thts gr8 to see. All i can say regarding this particular topic is that i think it has been covered already, although am not sure in which forum. But am sure u would be able to find it if you use teh search engine. well good luck with it.
  5. " Brothers & Sisters patience is a virtue. many of the so called large and united nations were not always so coherent there was a time when they to had dark days, as the brother has mentioned US went through that stage. unfortunately our beloved nations is at this phase at the current time. i say patience because many of us in the western are in full time education to contribute anything to somalia, the West as bad as it is have provided us with facilities which we can use for our own advantage. We should NOT expect nor accept a resolution from the so called warlords, these are immoral men who only care about their own interest. Finnish your tasks where you are currently situated and use your enhanced knowledge to implement and innovate Somalia. I am a young man and havent seen my nation in 17 years, call me optimistic but i have dreams of taking a role in the reconstruction of Somalia. I refuse to let my future children go through their life hood without a home. It is us how have knowledge therefore it is us who should guide our nation to the right path. I certainly want to be a member of the SAVIOURS of Somalia not the ones who gave up. I hope my little words shall be a inspiration on those who feel they are loosing hope. Our people back home are waiting for our help, we should not be waiting for them. SALAM " I dont think i could describe my feelings any better than the noble rookie has. Saxiib i have most diffenatly not given up on the idea of one day going back and helping in the restoration of somalia. Inshallah some day in the future we will all have the chance to do so not with standing our continued ignorance as regards our simingly eternal impass over the qaabil issue. But allahamdulilah am an optimist rather than a persimist.
  6. " when someone wants to post a new topic he/she would like to get the most exposure of that topic and thus would post it in the are that gets the most hits, which usually happens to be General, bor its marketing i guess." Very True London Lad could be somethin as simply as that. " It could possibly be, because, we can't really categorize the topics we post.. by that I mean, " Maybe we don't know what, should go where"... Equally it could also be this ambiguity that leads most of the nomads to be safe than sorry and post in the general section (am not being overlly diplomatic) after all i am a nomad. I just think that both you guys have made very good points. so i think i will leave things there. Unless their are other nomads out there with more ideas on this wierd Phenomena lol.
  7. Interesting as your post was saxiib, i should advice you that they (www.khilafah.com) are not being realistic. Kenya is not a muslim countyr, although their are a large number of muslim's living there. Thery are alos abit harsh and rather simplistic in the out-look. Of course the inherent problems that exit within kenya wil take quiet some time to over haule especially corruption. But generally speaking it marks a change in hopes and aspiritions for ppl there.
  8. Hey whats up Jazeera. Hope that your in good health and high spirits yOU are correct in noticing that he is a christian Palestinan, and a secularist by choice. However it seems that this hasnt quite obsecured his vision and truth. He does seem to speak with great honesty and clarity, although admitedly i am sure that there are some areas within islam that he proabbly wouldnt quite agree on. But thats to be expected he isnt A muslim.
  9. Salam calayakum. Am glad someone tried to adress that particular topic, or shall we say the way the question was posed. It is indeed most desirable that one remains a virgin & one seeks a virgin in marriage. Also of equal importance was the un-deniable truth that those who (may allah forgive them) who fail pray to temptation and had sex before marriage cannot expect a virgin for themselves, since they themselves are not.
  10. As Salam Calayakum Just would firs like to wlcm you to the sight, am not sure if this is ur first post. I found it to be very imformative. Allahamdulilah i already new quite abit of the content of your post, but it was still very informative. Gr8 contribution May allah reward your effort in Informing us.
  11. Well saxiib you are too kind. I just started this topic as it was an observation i have made about us that was interestingly illustrated by the figures i posted above. Like i said in the out-set this is somethin i saw when i first entered SOL, and indeed another nomad had put a similar question forward. Khayr i dont no if the chat appellt is loading now, but when it does inshallah we will be able to have better discussions in the future.
  12. Thats a very good question Jazeera, admitdly none automatically spring to mind. That said (moving off the topic for a sec)the are many countries out there that are much better to live in as a muslim than, well certainly here in the uk as far as am concerned. Although the hardships that u would suffer in trying to get your education and a job might be higher in let say any of the Gulf countries, to live in them as a practising muslim must be somewhat better. Here all you have to do is to step outside your front door to see People commiting all sin's, and unfortunately the temptations are everywhere.
  13. I dont think anything other than a positive out-look can come out of this change in govt. A positive out look for Kenyans and somali's alike. A least know corruption has been acknowledged and has been set as an Official priorty that needs to be talcked. So things will improve hopefully in the short-run, perhaps more realisticlly in the long run. Buty i dont share ur perssimism Ladiif. I think all kenyans citizens whether Kenyan or not will have a brighter out look now.
  14. Well i certainly hope so. This sujui is feeling very hone sick 'Landslide' routs Kenya's ruling party Opposition supporters flashed the victory sign Kenya's opposition has won a landslide victory in the country's elections in a humiliating rout of the ruling Kanu party, preliminary results show. UNOFFICIAL RESULTS Mwai Kibaki: 62% Uhuru Kenyatta: 29% Simeon Nyachae: 7.5% 4.9 million votes counted 10.5 million registered voters Source: Institute for Education in Democracy Election diary Though all the votes have not yet been counted, the electoral commission said there was no doubt that Mwai Kibaki of the National Rainbow Coalition (Narc) would be the country's next president. "He has won convincingly, and we will announce it officially later today, when these interim results have been accepted and certified," spokesman Mani Lemayian told the Reuters news agency. The result has been described as a political earthquake for the east African nation. Correspondents say voters appear to have tired of the corruption, poverty and ailing economy that has marked much of Kenya's political life since independence from Britain in 1963. Huge lead With ballots counted in more than half of the 210 parliamentary constituencies, Mr Kibaki had won nearly 62% of votes, compared with 29% for Kanu candidate Uhuru Kenyatta, figures from the Institute for Education in Democracy show. Mr Kibaki's 1.6 million-vote lead over Mr Kenyatta would be impossible to beat given the number of votes remaining to be counted, the institute said. Narc's Raila Odinga said: "The Kenyan people have now spoken, and it is with great joy and humility that we accept their trust in President-elect Kibaki." In the parliamentary race, the institute's results show that Narc had captured 114 seats, with Kanu trailing with 42 seats. Looking for change Outgoing President Daniel arap Moi of the Kanu party has repeated his commitment not to hold on to office and has urged the armed forces to support whoever wins the poll. Asked on Saturday if he was disappointed that Kanu seemed to be losing the election, Mr Moi replied: "That's democracy." Many Kenyans can only remember Moi as being president In Mombasa, ecstatic Narc supporters danced in the streets, chanting and displaying victory signs. "I am feeling excited because it is the will of the people, and people have looked for a change," one told the Associated Press news agency. "I hope to experience a change in my lifestyle and for fellow Kenyans as well." Correspondents warn Mr Moi's successor will be hard-pushed to live up to these kind of expectations. 'Orderly poll' Official results are expected on Sunday, two days after Kenyans flocked to elect a successor to Mr Moi, a new parliament and local councils. Many Kenyans can only remember one president throughout their lifetimes - Mr Moi - and this election has been eagerly anticipated. This is the only opportunity we have to break from the past and have a new beginning Uhuru Kenyatta Kanu candidate Election in quotes Analysts say that Mr Moi is one of the last of Africa's "big men" - who built up personality cults in the countries they ruled - often for many decades. Commonwealth election observers have hailed the "orderly" poll. "The people of Kenya, the political leaders and the parties deserve to be congratulated on their demonstrated belief in, and commitment to, democratic values and ethics, in particular to free, fair, peaceful and transparent elections," a statement said. The BBC's Ishbel Matheson in Nairobi says the election has been the most peaceful poll in the country since the introduction of multi-party elections in 1992. However, a policeman in a vehicle carrying ballot papers mistakenly shot dead a polling agent and his assistant in another car in the western district of Kisii on Friday night, Reuters reports.
  15. Salam Calayakum Khayr Thx for taking the time to contribute to the debate that was an excellent contribution. I understand and fully agree with ur sentiments. Indeed i suppose by borrowing from, and ammending democratic models we would be trying to 'Islamize' it. So that being wrong or shall we say undesirable what should we then do. Can i ask then how would we be able to circum navigate the issue of the Immans selection?
  16. Hey dont be suprised, their israels and i say that with no air of guilt. These people are amongst the cruelest, vindictive, evil people on earth.
  17. Salam Calayakum Khayr First, personally i can only appoligies for negleting this very excellent, relevant and consice point that u have made. Saxiib unfortunatly i encounter these very same people everyday, i am taught by them in every lecture, and when am watching any topical debate about international issues (currently being a perfect example) these same 'supposed' experts are the ones that are relied on to give the educated answers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Religion rationalizin, self-spiritualized person; that Intelligence lies in knowing that Man was created for Heaven and is temporarily in this world to worship Allah, The Divine. 'Allah guides whom He wants to guide' 'Islam is Super-rational not rational' Have some of the other nomads on here encountered such people and come to a similiar realization? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Walaahi u hit the spot there. I can only pray that Allah SWT continues to have mercy on his slaves, his true servants and saves them from the Darkness that continues to blind the hearts of so many of these arrogant 'Literate' so-called experts.
  18. I Went to the link provided Tamina and the whilst i havent got the good fortune of having access to the film, the synopsis made me even more intrigued, and increased my desire to view this Film even more. Walaahi it sounds like a very good Documentary that u nomads enjoyed. I read ur various responses and all u nomads seem to agree that it gave a good and fair account of Life of our Noble prophet Muhmad SCW. What impact do u guys think it will have on the Joe public there (average citzen)? Certainly i wouldnt mind getting a copy of the film to see for myself. But being a Financial struck student i will wait and see if someone else buy's it first
  19. Well quite obviously Iraq. They are the unfinished business so to speak (in their eyes anyways). Also it would be a more difficult task to construct the web of lies and decits that it has done so with Iraq becaue N Koera is not a muslim populated country and thus doesnt quite fall under the media current histieriay. No that's a preserve only for the precieved immediate dangers to their aspiritions and more importantly their need, that is to mantaine the flow of oil precious oil @ a bargain rate.
  20. Hi saxiib, i think this is the first topic i have seen u post or perhaps the first am replying to . Well anyway i would like to concur with jazeera here saxiib. The 2 options u have given are both @ the end of their respective spectrums. Niether one or the other would really be the ideal mode of governance, even as a theoretical argument. I think the prior 30 yrs or so of said's rule he and his minsters adopted a socialist/nationalist type of approach to governance (some other members old enough on here might eb able to elabortae further on this and give u its relative success or failer), and although some maye argue that @ least that managed to maintane a somalia (compared to what exists now) others (perhaps me included) would argue that what is needed is a mode of governance not to disimilar to that which we are governed by in these various countries that we live in. Granted that they would have to be some adjustments to these with regards to taking account of economical issues ( Banking system free of interest trade) constitutional issues (freedom of speech/press/religion but not secularism) and so forth. So to conclude, ideal what would need to be struck up is some kind of middle ground between the two options that u have given AMENDED so that it can incorporate the concerns of the citzens as a whole.
  21. well he was no dought. But where is here now ?? Dead and six feet under and heading to hell.
