lol will see baay will see. Anyway just thought i'd remind you guys that there will be a champions league teaser on today -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ancelotti: Pace to beat Porto Friday 29 August, 2003 Carlo Ancelotti believes Milan are more than a match for tonight's European Super Cup opponents Porto. “My players have worked very hard all summer and know what they need to do,” commented the Coach. “We are ready to take on a dynamic side that plays very rapid and creative football. Porto’s counter-attacks are deadly, but we know what we can do.” The Rossoneri won The Double last season, but have struggled throughout the summer. “I admit there were a few problems,” added Ancelotti, “but we have sorted them out and will finally get back to the games that count.” The San Siro side lost the Italian Super Cup to Juventus at the start of August, but the Coach considers that to be a good performance. “We only lost that trophy on penalties and in my view played better than Juve. I’d be happy to see the same commitment and pace that we showed in New York.” Paolo Maldini had been ruled out for this match, but the veteran made a lightning recovery to start alongside Alessandro Nesta. “It is very important to have your captain on the field. Maldini may not be 100 per cent fit, but you’d never leave him out.” New signing Giuseppe Pancaro will take the left-back role from the injured Kakha Kaladze, while “Martin Laursen and Alessandro Costacurta also have some fitness worries.” Milan take on UEFA Cup holders Porto in Monaco this evening, but in that same city the draw for the Champions’ League Group phase was held. “We already know Ajax well,” explained the tactician, “certainly more than Club Brugge, but I think that overall the groups are relatively balanced.” Probable line-up: Dida; Cafu, Nesta, Maldini, Pancaro; Rui Costa, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf; Inzaghi, Shevchenko- ---------------------------------------------------------

Just thought i would confirm the official winners in this debate -------------------Van Nistelrooy wins award----------------- Van Nistelrooy is Europe's top striker Ruud van Nistelrooy was named the best striker in Europe at Uefa's 2003 Football Awards in Monte Carlo on Thursday. The Manchester United striker was honoured at Uefa's awards ceremony after he finished top scorer in last season's Champions League with 12 goals. But he played down his achievement by paying tribute to the rest of the Old Trafford squad. "Without the team, I would never have done it," said van Nistelrooy. "I play for a great team and I'm so proud to be one of those players, it's fantastic." Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was named Europe's most valuable player of last season following his fine performances in the Champions League. The 25-year-old, who became the world's most expensive keeper when he moved from Parma to Juve in 2001, was also named the best goalkeeper in the competition. Buffon won that award even though he could not prevent AC Milan winning the Champions League final on penalties at Old Trafford in May. Pavel Nedved, also from Juventus, picked up the award for the best midfielder. Real Madrid full-back Roberto Carlos was named best defender of last season. AC Milan skipper Paolo Maldini was given the Uefa president's award in recognition of his 17-year career and for captaining the winning side last season - the first time the award has gone to a current player. Celtic fans win award The Fair Play Award was handed to supporters of Celtic for the part they played in Europe last season and especially for the atmosphere they helped create on a memorable night in Seville at the Uefa Cup final against Porto in May. ---------------------------------------------------------

Halliburton Scores More Iraq Contracts Halliburton Co, an oil-field service company formerly run by US vice president Dick Cheney, has won even more contracts that will earn it millions of dollars as it helps to rebuild Iraq after the recent conflict there. The Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal have both reported that Halliburton, along with construction company Bechtel, are the recent recipients of lucrative Iraq contracts. The Post states that Halliburton is set to make hundreds of millions more than previously reported out of the contracts. Bechtel, according to the Journal, will receive US$350 million for building contracts, 50% more than was previously allocated. ----------------------------------------------------------- You see no peace, just pieces being cuvered out.

I have quite confidence in my Roma team, the emphasis will be more on the youth now and i think you will see some new faces make a mark. Look out for Mancini (Cafu replacement) Agostino (new totti) and Danile de rossi (Medfield master). A forth place finish would be great for Roma But for the title? who knows thats the beauty of Seria A. I will say it will be between Juve Milan Inter and Lazio, but if u really push me i will say between Inter and Milan. I think Juve will desparetly try to win the Champions league this year and that might perhaps hinder there domestic performance

Yep. Lets hope Inter eliminate Arsenal from the first group and save us all from the histrionics from the english media, and then hopefully Inter will gte knocked out in the following stage, Valencia's manage didnt call them the death of footabll for no reason. I predict that porto will play some phaat footie, but i can see Juve going all the way this year, especially following the dissapointment of last june. Bayern are gonna be a bigg threat aswell with there german los golacticos type squad, but otherwise we should expect the usual suppects to be up there or abouts

Irish Nationalist turned Muslim to address Muslim Identity Conference
Thinkerman replied to Haashim's topic in General
Inshallah i will try to get some information conspicous_M, as a few brothers from my uni attended You see Islam continues to spread from day to day getting stronger in numbers it seems by the hour. Indeed Allah (swt) is Ar-Rahim ----------------------------------------------------------------- The more I learned and accepted the better my life became. My inward rebellion and self-pity dissipated as I submitted to Allah. Peace entered my life. Islam Came into My Life Unexpectedly 8/20/2003 - Religious Social - Article Ref: By: Lisa Moore IslamiCity* - Islam came into my life unexpectedly, at a time I was feeling very discouraged. My parents were getting older and had developed serious health problems. My brother's disabilities from multiple sclerosis had increased to the point my parents and I were having difficulty caring for him. I was middle-aged, with no husband and children, trying to cope with the failing health of three people. I did not even have a good career to help, for although I had obtained a PhD I was by nature very shy and had never been able to promote myself successfully. At this time I happened to get into a discussion about Islam and realized how little I really knew about it. The next time I had access to a computer I decided to search some sites about it. On one of the first sites I found, I saw a translation of the Shahada: "There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet." I was stunned. "But I have always believed that," I said aloud. For although my parents are Christian, my father had always had a translation of the Qur'an in our home which I had sometimes looked at but not really studied. So I had grown up believing Muhammad (pbuh) was a true prophet of God. And I had never been comfortable with the Catholic division of God into three, but had known in my heart there was One God alone. I now felt compelled to learn more about Islam. I sent for some literature from IslamiCity, and corresponded with a sister there. I began reading my translation of the Qur'an with the intent to learn. I ordered books about Islam and the history of Islam. The more I learned and accepted the better my life became. My inward rebellion and self-pity dissipated as I submitted to Allah. Peace entered my life. I quit considering myself a failure because I was not financially successful. My sister was moved to take my disabled brother to live in her city where he could receive better care. Although my parents' health continued frail, I was now better able to help them without the care of my brother as well. The day I made my Shahada I was nervous, but also overwhelmed with gratitude to Allah for my guidance to the peace of Islam. Sr. Lisa Moore took the Shahada (declaration of faith) in August 2003. She resides in the United States. May Allah (swt) always bless and guide her on the Straight Path (ameen). ------------------------------------------------------------- -

American Airlines saved $40,000 in 1987 by eliminating one olive from each salad served in first-class. Now that is subtle cost cutting exercise i have taken note.
