  6. Salam Calayakum Sis. Thats exactly my point, but then again only all knows. In saying that, I hope things work out for the citizens of Arabia and I hope Allah guides or removes their leaders. Thats all the we can hope fore after such events
  7. You have raised several Valid critisims saxiib. Saudi Arabia could be a much more equal society and thus better country for all its citzens. Now if we look again at the recent Bombing. The were utterly disgusting and i fail to understand how a fellow muslim, even if they are the ones labelled as 'militant' could carry out such a mission. What i try to keep in mind in these times is that whatever allah wills, happens. And there is always a wisdom behind what happens in the world that we cannot as humans, no matter how strong in our faith and how knowledgable in the deenwe might be, cannot comprehend. Lets just prey that something good arises from incident that. And that the land of our prohpet Muhammed (SAW) remains peacefull

  13. Pointing the Car Toward Mecca By TERESA RIORDAN November 10, 2003 HE Koran requires Muslims to pray five times a day while facing Mecca, the birthplace of the prophet Muhammad. Traditionally muezzins climb the minarets of mosques to call out prayer time, but in the modern world the devout are not always within earshot. Frank Deworetzki, an inventor for Mannesmann, in Frankfurt, offers a solution. Two weeks ago Mr. Deworetzki patented a navigational system for automobiles that not only shows the driver where he or she is headed but also shows the direction of Mecca at all times. Moreover, the system can be programmed to play prayer calls at the appropriate times. During Ramadan, the month of daytime religious fasting, which begins today in the United States, the system alerts drivers to the time of sunrise and sunset, wherever they may be. Mr. Deworetzki could not be reached for comment, and the system does not seem to be available yet. It is patent No.6,633,813. David M. Thimmig, the patent lawyer who shepherded the application through the patent office for Siemens, which owns Mannesmann, said the patent was much broader than simply a way to know the location of Mecca. ''You can use this technology to know where your grandmother's house is at all times if you want to,'' said Mr. Thimmig, who is with Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw of Chicago. Still, with more than a billion Muslims worldwide, the number of potential consumers who want to keep track of Mecca is much larger than those who want to remember where grandmother's house is. Mr. Deworetzki is not the only inventor trying to marry technology with Islam and in the process tap into the large Muslim consumer market. Last month LG Electronics, the second-largest mobile phone maker in Korea, after Samsung, began selling its new LG-G5300 phone, which costs about $250 and includes a compass and location tracking software. Even when a global positioning system is not available, the phone displays the direction of the ancient holy city Mecca, which is in modern Saudi Arabia. Other inventors are seeking patents on similar concepts. Jean Ciechanowiecki of Weston, Fla., and Hossein Sazfgar of France have applied for a cellphone that displays Mecca, as have Kiyoshi Hasebe and a team of other Japanese inventors. Less sophisticated devices catering to the Muslim consumer are on the market. Last week a Canadian merchant was auctioning an Arabic Traveling Prayer Chime on eBay. The starting bid for the chime, which plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet of a car and plays a prayer, was $14.99. Abdelhamid I. Sabra, a professor in the department of the history of science at Harvard, said historically religious authorities often opposed innovative thought in the Islamic world. From the 9th century to the 14th century, however, Islamic mathematicians were obsessed with figuring out how to calculate the position of Mecca from different locations. In the course of this quest, they proposed a variety of novel trigonometric solutions. For a medieval historian like Professor Sabra, the new technology puts a modern gloss on age-old knowledge. ''Mathematically, this problem was solved centuries ago,'' he said.

  19. GET IN THERE Roma 2 - 0 Lazio Mancini 80 ®, Emerson 85 ® Stadio Olimpico -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two stunning strikes from Brazilian stars Mancini and Emerson gave Roma the local derby and second place alongside Milan. There are few games on the world stage that can match the bitterness, rivalry and sheer passion of the Rome derby. The timing could not have been worse for Lazio, just days after their humiliating 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Chelsea. Sinisa Mihajlovic, Angelo Peruzzi, Claudio Lopez, Roberto Muzzi and Stefano Fiore were out injured, so Roberto Mancini changed to a 4-5-1 formation. Roma had not lost a 'home' derby game since 1997 and wheeled out the trident attack of Francesco Totti, Antonio Cassano - fresh from his first senior Italy call-up - and Vincenzo Montella. Jonathan Zebina stepped in for the injured Cristian Chivu, who damaged his shoulder midweek. The first shot on goal came after three minutes when Matteo Sereni got his body behind a fierce Olivier Dacourt effort from distance. Soon after Montella turned his marker and an angled drive was parried by Sereni, but Cassano just failed to pick up the loose ball. Lazio slowly began to fight back and Sergio Conceicao's chip almost caught Ivan Pelizzoli off his line, then the former Atalanta goalkeeper held firm on a Dejan Stankovic shot. It was a very tense game - as usual in the Rome derby - and a scuffle broke out when Bernardo Corradi reacted angrily to Dacourt's challenge. The former Leeds man was booked for the foul. On the resulting free kick Paolo Negro popped up at the far post and fired just wide from eight yards. Francesco Totti aimed to curl a free kick in only to see it deflected out for a corner kick. The tension rose towards the end of the first half and there were some very tough challenges around the field. Cassano saw a solo effort charged down and on the resulting corner kick Sereni plucked Emerson's header out of the air before Montella could pounce. There was absolute panic in the Lazio box when Totti's free kick was only parried into the path of a group of players nad the defence eventually scrambled it clear. On the corner kick Mancini's powerful drive skimmed the crossbar. Totti was convinced he had scored on the hour mark when his fantastic daisy-cutter clipped the edge of the upright. Moments later Sergio Conceicao found space on the counter-attack, but ballooned it over the bar as he lost his balance. Dejan Stankovic performed a wonderful solo effort as he skipped past two defenders, but his shot was a little too central and Pelizzoli got behind it. The second half was much more open and Montella was caught offside as Totti held up the ball for him. Lazio's injury woes deepened when Fabio Liverani limped off with a thigh problem, while Roma threw on John Carew for the final push. Walter Samuel made an uncharacteristic error on 74 minutes when he cleared the ball straight at Stankovic, but his curling effort shaved the crossbar with Pelizzoli beaten. The deadlock was eventually broken with a stunning goal ten minutes from time. Cassano turned a low free kick towards the near post and Alessandro Mancini flicked it in with his right heel. It was a beautiful and classy goal from the young Brazilian who has been a revelation for Roma this season. The other Mancini - sitting on the Lazio bench - reacted immediately and threw on Simone Inzaghi, while local lad Daniele De Rossi made his derby debut. This forced the game into life and the Biancocelesti left massive spaces at the back. Roma took full advantage and another Brazilian Emerson drilled an unstoppable low drive past Sereni following a splendid cross-field pass from Mancini. Carew's angled effort nearly made it three in injury time, but Roma celebrate a confident win in style.
  20. This are very worrying times. Even in this blessed month, in he birthplace of our Prohpet muhammed (SAW), there are (allegedly) Muslims who carry out these kinds of acts.
  21. Salam Calayakum Am glad that you guys found it of use.
  22. Well we all no that we arent allowed to eat prok, swine or any Pig related product, it is forbiden to us by Allah (swt) so we need not question ti further. Salam Calayakum Nomads.
