  2. Totti & Nedved star at Oscars Tuesday 13 January, 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Roma’s Francesco Totti and Pavel Nedved of Juventus have collected two awards apiece at the Italian Football Oscars. Totti was named as the best Italian player of 2003, with Nedved collecting the best foreigner accolade. They amazingly shared the overall best player prize after the votes, given by their fellow professionals, were tied. Juventus collected two more honours as Gigi Buffon was named best ‘keeper, while best Coach went to Marcello Lippi. Roma sensation Antonio Cassano lifted the best youngster award, with Milan stopper Alessandro Nesta netting the best defender. In the refereeing category, there were no surprises as international man in black Pierluigi Collina came out top.
  3. No doubt i taped that game bro it was phaat. Man it brought back the great memories of Gazzeta and sunday afternoon classics
  4. salams Darman. I must admit i was worried for a time that i would forever remain extremly sallow, and that i would only look at at how attrative a girl is. But as time has passed and syncersim, or should i say reality has crept in, the physical aspect has fallen down the pecking order, albeit subconsiously. Providing there is some level of mutual attraction, then its all good. PERSONALLY SPEAKING, i find this opens your eyes to more possibilities than before.
  5. ROMA Back on Track Serie A Week 16 - 11/1/04 Perugia 0 - 1 Roma Mancini 3 ® Stadio Curi -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Giallorossi restore order with this important away win, but it was a struggle to see the better of the Grifoni. Roma were in desperate need of a good result to get them back on track following the shock 2-1 home defeat to Scudetto rivals Milan. It has been a tense few days for the Giallorossi, as Antonio Cassano once again stormed out of training, while Coach Fabio Capello confirmed he welcomed interest from Chelsea. Perugia were still without a single Serie A win going into this game, but it must be noted that they also remain unbeaten on home turf. All eight of their encounters at the Stadio Renato Curi have been draws so far this season and the pressure was mounting on Serse Cosmi. He gave new signing Giandomenico his debut in the Trequartista role. It took just three minutes for Roma to break the deadlock with a fine move by its midfielders. Olivier Dacourt threaded through for Amantino Mancini and the Brazilian trapped the ball with his right foot before driving in with his left. Damiano Tommasi made a rare start and had the opportunity to double their lead soon after, but Fabio Grosso recovered the situation with some desperate defending. A Francesco Totti free kick found Emerson in the box, but his diving header merely skimmed the crossbar. Tommasi was eager to make his mark and went very close to a second with a fine volley. When Perugia did managed to get forward their finishing left something to be desired with Massimo Margiotta and Grosso headers too weak to trouble Ivan Pelizzoli. The Grifoni almost bagged an equaliser just before the break, when Ze Maria thumped the woodwork and Pelizzoli managed to block Margiotta's follow-up with his foot. Emerson did not have his scoring boots on today, as another Totti free kick was palmed into his path only for the Brazilian to fire over the bar. There were heated Perugia protests when Jay Bothroyd fell under pressure from Traianos Dellas in the box, but the penalty appeals were waved away. Zeljko Kalac was kept busy with a tricky save on Francisco Lima's piledriver, then he managed to stop an Antonio Cassano solo effort after the youngster had skipped past several defenders. Milan 3 - Reggina 1 Sampdoria 1 - Juventus 0 1. Roma 39pts 16 Games 2. Juventus 36pts 16 Games 3. Milan 36pts 15 Games 4. Inter 31pts 16 Games 5. Parma 31pts 16 Games
  6. From my point of view this is yet more good news , its always good to know really what the host of the countries that we reside in think , and whilst this piece was directed at Arabs it could quite easliy have been about us somalis, or indeed Muslims as i belive it is indirectly aimed at. True some Arab Regimes are amongst some of the most corrupt and Repressive Regimes in the world, but that has nothing to do with their ethincity or ISLAM, and i think thats what Mr Kilroy was trying to suggest hence the up roar. Would it be fair though to say that we it would have been a fair critiq if it ws aimed at our somali 'culture'??
  7. lol well reported bee. On a serious not though that is good to see, admitedly am not one of those who took part in putting the pressure on the dialy Crap . Those who did should give themselves a pat on the back
  8. Congratulations Mizz Hurry, as ur in a hurry to depart from our community my i wish you al the best for the future. Ciao
  9. LOL very good i new he learned froma good teacher
  10. Well yeah.. to be honest i am not too shocked this is Seria A After all, it would have been amazing if we wom again, against Milan of all teams. But the good thing is we now have lost so that pressure is of us, the team must now start a new Run and use this defeat to motivate them. BTW out of Jue, Inter, Lazio, Parma n Milan, we have won 2 drawn 2 n lost 1, thats good enough form, and thats what needs to be repeated in this second half of the season. Man after wathcing that game, and the surrounding atmosphere i now want to go n wathc a game there myself , something to tick off the to do list.
  11. lol for real got to admit it bro My Team looked very ordinary at times yesturday, and mancini had a nightmare. Totti played well i wouldnt criize him that much, it was just a bad bad performance by the team. I was throughly disappointed . Still will remain top regardless of whether milan win the next game or not . Mind you milan played the best football i have seen for a while, it was shocking  . Walaahi Kaka and Rui looked a great idea by and shev should have scored 4. I just hope we bounce back quick coz teh most disappointing thing was how poor the team was, unrecognizable they were .

  14. It seems that the whole of europe is chasing Roma's stars, am not supprised  we have the best players in the world. ------------------------------------------------------------ Roma thwart Chelsea's Chivu hopes Chivu moved from Ajax to Roma for £12m last year Roma have dismissed reports that defender Cristian Chivu could be on his way to Chelsea. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was quoted on Sunday as saying he was keen to sign the 23-year-old, who is a Romania international. But Roma's sporting director Franco Baldini said the club would not be selling any of their players "regardless of any offer". He added: "None of our players will be moving from Roma in January." Chivu's agent Andrea Pretti also dampened the speculation. "It is possible that there are many clubs interested in Chivu, but there is absolutely no negotiations with clubs regarding his possible departure," he said. "He's very happy at Roma and he has no intention of moving. He's a very important player and the club want him to remain. It's not a question of money for Roma. They are keen to keep Chivu." Chivu joined Roma from Ajax for £12m only a year ago and has five years left on his contract. But it had been reported that he could be available for sale for just £6m and was a target for both Chelsea and Manchester United. -------------------------------------------------------------
  15. Inshallah abayo. Thx for Pointing this out. I didn celebrate new year, no do i think that anyone of us here is. It just merely taking note of the calendor and nothing more than that.

  18. I think some of the contributors have missed the point entirely. We are not talking about current politcal leaders and their corrupt and oppressive regimes. I think any attempt to defend them is Viod ab Ebntial (viod from the begining). I would also take on board the constructive critic of Brother Muraad. Perhaps it would have been better if you Haniif would have been even more specific about defining who falls within the Appolgists catergory. This is how i see it. If your going to go to the extent of explain Islam, and taking every perspective possible and effort to show the beauty and the light that is Islam then you do so with those who are sincere, and not with those who have other agenda's. I anticipate that some would argue how do you know what is in peoples hearts? better you encourage everyone towards Islam regardless of the sincerity or sincersims. True, but i think we all have common sense and we know how to differentiate between the obvious enemies of Allah and Islam and Muslims, and those who are just casual observes seeking more information. Its one think for your average muslims 'joe' to be diplomatic in exchanges regarding Islam & the variety of issues that are constantly in the media spot light, with friends and colleauges that happen to be non-muslims. That as i have seen first hand is a worthwhile venture. But to see so called community leaders or Muslims personalities indeed being appolgetic, and by that i mean subservently cowing to distortive mis-interpretaions of Islam and Muslims for poltical agenda's then that i disagree with fundementally. I belive it says somewhere in the Quran or Hadith (plz correct me if am wrong) that you cannot sit in a company where someone (istagfurullah)insluts or denegrates Allah. Then cleary the same would apply with islam. I cannot for a second belive that agreeing with those that negate certain fundementals of our beliefs when on national news outlets be there in Print, Radio, Tv or the Net is of any benefit to us, as muslims. Yes to more dialoge, yes to more dawah work, no to Muslim appolgist.
  19. Unhappy New Year for Kenya leader Lucy Kibaki was furious at being called 'second lady' Kenya's first lady Lucy Kibaki refused to attend official celebrations to mark the New Year after a family row at the state house, government sources say. President Mwai Kibaki has two wives but Lucy normally accompanies him at all state functions. Mrs Kibaki reportedly boycotted the party after a senior minister referred to her as the "second lady". President Kibaki's second wife, Wambui, has lately gained prominence and gets the same privileges as her co-wife. Late arrival A senior government source told BBC News Online that Lucy Kibaki caused a huge scene at a private dinner party at the State House in the second city, Mombasa, which preceded the state celebrations to usher in the New Year. The minister, according to the source, was proposing a toast when he made the statement that provoked the first lady. Attempts to reconcile the two failed, and the guests at the party walked out. The Daily Nation newspaper reports that President Kibaki arrived at the New Year's function late after trying in vain to convince the first lady to join him. The president's second wife came into the public domain when a lengthy profile on her was published by a local newspaper last year, several months after Mr Kibaki came to power in December 2003. Wambui Kibaki enjoys state security and other government benefits accorded to the first lady. Both wives were in the president's entourage during Mr Kibaki's inaugural state visit to the United States last November.
  20. Rahima thx for psoting that Hadith that sould be all our position. I couldnt agree more Haniif, the reason why you will find some Brothers or Sisters doing so is due to the pressure that is exerted from all angles by the variety of the Kufar you see around. Thats not an excuse in its self, what am saying is that clearly if your not up to speed or up to scratch with your Knowledge then thats what happens, you will be found wanting and making excuses and trying to be appolgetic.
  21. A Billeted Happy new year my Brothers and Sisters. My this new year bring us all more happy days, greater health and prosperity. And My allah bless our Muslim Brothers and sisters all across our Ummah with his Rhama Inshallah Ameen
