  1. I always knew the significance of a parent's role both through the genes they pass on and the way they bring up their kids but the home schooling part is so amazing Walahi. It is one thing to ensure that your kids go to school and do well but it is a totally different thing to teach them at home and make so much out of it I envy them so much...
  2. Why are you people so focused on his dropping out of University maalinka danbe I have two degrees in uu dhaho miyad ka keeni rabtaan @ Wacdaraha keep looking you are still young ee. I am sure there is someone with all these qualities out there for you.
  3. Off all the things eey Alshabaab sameeyeen that made me tear up tan waaba funny. 7:00 pm laguye LOL Ofcourse it is more xadgudub on people's freedom but it is not the end of the world ee haiska dhameystaan sheekada inta casarnimo

  5. I know about buying the kitambulusho thing. That is why I am worried about the extra cost. Thanks for the good wishes even though I was just day dreaming.... I just wanted to know the cost and think about work next summer. Oh damn! How it sucks to build castles in the air when you are shiid !

I thought I was the only SOLer on that page. Let me guess, you are also a member of One People. One Religion. One Somalia. No Qabiil , the largest Soomaali group on Foolbuug. Actually I am not on 'One people. One religion. One Somalia.' I checked it out now and it looks good; SOL beyba meela badan uga egtahay. I wondered if MMA is one of the moderators there too ! I enjoy Wergalin show and I follow it both on Facebook and youtube. I think that guy is doing some good work.

Waiting for a Somali Prince while locked in your Castle, won't get you anywhere. You gotta make the effort, you have to look in the right places. If you want a religous one go to the mosque, if you want a retarded one go to the club, if you want an educated one go to the library. and take off those blinders + shake off the whispers of your friends. 9 out of 10 girls eagerly sabotage one anothers' chance at luck. So what should a girl do when she goes to the mosque or library? Seriously?
  8. Thanks Malika I was asking about the ID thing because in Kenya you have to have an ID (Kitambulusho) to get a passport and I don't know how people in Kenya with no ID go to Hajj. I am sure there many who do I just have no idea what kind of passport they use and if it costs more money. Thanks for the link, I will ask them some time inshaAlah.

  10. Does any one know how much it cost to go to hajj from Kenya? Would it cost more if the person has no kenyan ID? And did any one go or send someone to Hajj from Kenya?; Was it hard? I tried to google this info but I couldn't find much...pliz let me know if you have any idea.

  13. How about changing what is wrong with us....magaca maxuu galbsaday? I am never ashamed of saying that I am Somali event hough I not exactly proud of what we are today. We will have better days inshaAlah.
  14. Originally posted by ElPunto: quote: Some family members openly questioned why some of the suspects were arrested at all. With community activist Omar Jamal as his translator, the father of one defendant vehemently denied the charges. "The kids have initially been intimidated through aggressive interrogation by police in St. Paul," said the man who identified himself as the father of Abdullahi **** Afyare. "As religious people, we don't believe in engaging in sex trade The brother-in-law of another defendant said he was shocked to hear of the charges against his relative. "What I believe is he didn't do nothing," the brother-in-law said. "I don't know where this came from." Outside the courtroom where his pregnant sister, Bibi Ahmed Said, had just made her first appearance, Abdi Said denied his sister's involvement in a sex trafficking ring. Bibi Said is charged with attempting to influence the testimony of somebody who was going to testify to the grand jury. Whenever things like that come to the front - the denial always pops up from family members and other ppl in the community. It's too hilarious. Yeah blame it on anyone but your kid or relative. Somali hadaan nahay dadkeena wax ma haleyaan. The documentary on Abdinasir Dirie said the same thing about the lack of community cooperation. Ati 'we are religious people' seriously? Try and take that to court bal.
  15. The biggest cause of this problems is diinti oo laga tagay....say what you want about everything else but none of these happens to a practising Muslims.I have always avoided judging gabdhaha Somalida who dress and live like that but truth is wax walbe meel buu ka bilowdaa and before you know it everything is out of hand. Mida kale how naive are you to accept a free ticket from a man?At age 10 my mom taught me all about caution when dealing with men and strangers, more than a decade later I still don't accept a ride or a drink from a man I don't know. Either the story is fabricated or they brought this upon themselves through their other mistakes but I hope that they get a lenient sentence and that inshaAlah God makes them better people.

  20. Horta Ilaahey ha u naxariisto intii dhimatay dadkoodana samir iyo iimaan alaha ka siiyo. It is indeed a sad sad situation. Like I have noticed many times before almost everyone here has a single-sided and judgmental explanation for what is wrong with Somali Maxamed. I personally don't belief that we are as horrible as some of the above posts make us look. We are very far from being perfect but I don't think we are the worst of the immigrant communities in the west. That said, our people here have real problems (the drug issues being one of them) and I don't think the solution is a simple as saying that parents should live in better neighbourhoods or young people should make better choices. Of course both are relevant solutions but they are just two sides of a very complex, (very) multi dimensional and very serious problem. Finally, since these are our people and we all have a responsibility towards them maxaan sameyn karaa? Koley bashing less hardworking, less intelligent and less lucky Somalis is not gonna get us far. Instead finding a way to individually make a difference (and I bet many on Sol are already doing that) would be a better use of our energy.
