Lets face it; so many Somalis think marrying a foreign person specially American or European is achievement.... big deal. What really should matters what type of a person is he and how much you understand, respect & love each other...basically what are u bringing to the table as a couple to survive this life. Remember you are building your own life here not others and you shouldn't be concern about fake things like money, looks or what other will think of you .... So are you really happy behind those closed doors or just pretending to be

First of all I wanna thank Rudy for raising a very good topic to discuss, it is certainly a topic that concerns me and took my full attention and I think it concerns many others, I do believe Islam encourage us as followers to listen to each other and discuss things or matters even if we don’t agree with each other, that is the whole point of being open minded or receiving instead of only copying things from others. Altough I understand there is things that is not subject for dispute like the five pillars of Islam which are: 1. Witness of faith (Shahadah) 2. Prayers (Salat) 3. Charity (Zakat) 4. Fasting (Saum) 5. The pilgrimage (Hajj) Because this is what Islam is built on, but it was absolutely wrong for many to attack Rudy or others points of views on other topics like this topic. Honestly at first I did not think of what I’m reading but when I visited the Al-azhar web, I said to my self this really needs my second look, now I’m not saying I do agree with what was said yet but definitely I want to know more. All my life I understood that hijab is obligatory for every mature Muslim women, I was raised in the Arabian gulf country and hijab was never a hard thing to do until I came to the USA, it is really a daily struggle to wear hijab here, I mean in every where I go it doesn’t matter where I am, at work or even pumping gas or buying groceries, it is simply not easy, for simple example my coworkers told me at first when I started my job that some of them kept distance from me coz they were scared of me now that they know me well, they enjoy talking to me, and they feel free to discuss things with me, I can understand why they felt that way, and that is why I believe people give you respect according to how you represent your self to them and good behavior or being good should first come from the heart. A piece of cloth will not make you a good Muslim or a good human. I decided to wear hijab for one strong reason only and it is to obey Allah only, not for arab man or to satisfy a tradition, in reality I never went back to see the real verses which says that Muslim women’s have to wear hijab in the Quran, coz simply I never dispute it , untill now and that is my fault but from know and on I’m planning to go back to the correct source (Quran) and educate my self. I simply don’t care what people will think of me but I want to know what was writing in Quran about the hijab and act accordingly, I encourge every one else to do so, don’t worry about others do what your mind tells you is right to do. After all let us all please be open-minded here and don’t just attack each other for the hell of it. Inan yabaan

dawaco, completely agree with you, some of our ppl thinks that all it takes to be a good parents is to make your child were a hijab without they even understand what this is about, we also see somali folks came from somalia yesterday, forcing them self to speak broken English with their kids, when they hardly can complete a sentence...please do me a good and keep you mother language at home. We need to spend more time with our kids and talk to them about our great religion and culture, see mothers and fathers only shouting at their kids in early ages for non sense when them self don’t try to set a good example for the kids. waa yaab

Your clothes and how it identifies with ur personality
inan yaban replied to Modesty's topic in General
Well I do agree with you when you say clothes we wear; reflect who we are, simple people more likley to choose plain colors and simple printed clothes. In other hand, I met few ppl in my life that cared so much about their LOOK more than their personality, which is too bad for them. I’ll say to them grow up & wake up to real life around you  To me as long as you are clean. And not wearing a killer colors that do not match the it is all good. Be comfortable that is what really matters at the end. waa yab  -
Today is my daughter's 18th birthday.so glad that this is my last damn child support payment.I called my baby girl to come over to my house, and when she got there, I said to her, "Baby girl, I want you to take this last check over to your mother's house and tell that b-i-t-c-h that this is the last damn check she's ever going to get from me. I want you to tell me the _expression on that b-i-t-c-h's face."My baby girl took the check over to her.was so anxious to hear what the b-i-t-c-h had to say and what she looked like. my baby girl walked through the door, I said, "What did that b-i-t-c-h have to say?" << << << << << << << << << << << "TOLD ME TO TELL YOU THAT YOU AIN'T MY FATHER......" 2) Little Nancy was in the garden filling a hole when her neighbor peered over the fence. Interested in what the cheeky-faced youngster was up to, he politely asked, "What are you doing there Nancy"? "My goldfish died" , replied Nancy tearfully without looking up, "and I've just buried him". The neighbor was very concerned. "That's an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn't it"? Nancy patted down the last heap of dirt then replied, "That's because he's inside your f-u-c-k-i-n' cat".

Ok, Personally I don't not agree with every thing here!!!..... enjoy nomads. ROMANCE MATHEMATICS Smart man + smart woman = romance Smart man + dumb woman = affair Dumb man + smart woman = marriage Dumb man + dumb woman = pregnancy OFFICE ARITHMETIC Smart boss + smart employee = profit Smart boss + dumb employee = production Dumb boss + smart employee = promotion Dumb boss + dumb employee = overtime SHOPPING MATH A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs. A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need. GENERAL EQUATIONS & STATISTICS A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband. A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife. A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man. HAPPINESS To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little. To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all. LONGEVITY Married men live longer than single men do, but married men are a lot more willing to die. PROPENSITY TO CHANGE A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't. A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does. DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. HOW TO STOP PEOPLE FROM BUGGING YOU ABOUT GETTING MARRIED Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Fellow nomads I though of sharing this story with all of you, gross but true!!! A stock clerk was sent to clean up a storeroom in Maui, Hawaii. When he got back, he was complaining that the storeroom was really filthy and that he had noticed dried mouse or rat droppings in some areas. A couple of days later, he started to feel like he was coming down with a stomach flu, complained of sore joints and headaches, and began to vomit. He went to bed and never really got up again. Within two days he was severely ill and weak. His blood sugar count was down to 66, and his face and eyeballs were yellow. He was rushed to the emergency at Pali-Momi, where he was diagnosed to be suffering from massive organ failure. He died shortly before midnight. No one would have made the connection between his job and his death, had it not been for a doctor who specifically asked if he had been in a warehouse or exposed to dried rat or mouse droppings at any time. They said there is a virus (much like the Hanta virus) that lives in dried rat and mouse droppings. Once dried, these droppings are like dust and can easily be breathed in or ingested if a person does not wear protective gear or fails to wash face and hands thoroughly. An autopsy was performed on the clerk to verify the doctor's suspicions. This is why it is extremely important to ALWAYS carefully rinse off the tops of canned sodas or foods, and to wipe off pasta packaging, cereal boxes, and so on. Almost everything you buy in a supermarket was stored in a warehouse at one time or another, and stores themselves often have rodents. Most of us remember to wash vegetables and fruits but never think of boxes and cans. The ugly truth is, even the most modern, upper-class, super store has rats and mice. And their warehouse most assuredly does! Whenever you buy any canned soft drink, please make sure that you wash the top with running water and soap or, if that is not available, drink with a straw. The investigation of soda cans by the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta discovered that the tops of soda cans can be encrusted with dried rat's urine, which is so toxic it can be lethal. Canned drinks and other foodstuffs are stored in warehouses and containers that are usually infested with Rodents, and then they get transported to retail outlets without being properly cleaned. Please guys take care next time you open a can!

inan yaban replied to - diamond princess -'s topic in General
Well these really good for men to read..well done diamond princess. We know Live starts in a women womb, simply there are part of every man's life, they are you mother, sister, wife, aunt and daughter or even the person you love, so treat women's they way you want others men to treat those beautiful women’s in your life. And know that a woman is like a glass, can easily be broken or hurt. love Inan yabaan -

In many times I ask my self why our somali girls or women’s like to be fake to each other. For example you go to a Somali party you suppose be there to have fun and enjoy your time instead you see them divided in to groups based on non sense, gossiping on each other or checking what that one is wearing, or who is this one’s friend, or why this one husband is dancing with that women and look who is standing with who, or the funny part who cooked the wedding food and why they did not cook that or that, for Allah sake just eat what is there or leave it…after all you getting free food. I may sound different but all this is non sense for me in every where you go just be your self, no one has the right to judge any one accept Allah who created us, no one has the right to watch your shoulders accept some who loves you and care for you, when I was in the university, I spend a long time with different girls from different nationalities and different religions and we shared a lot of valuable, hard and beautiful times that reside in my mind and heart until this minute, since then I seem to have hard time seeing or finding a true friends, I really rather to be away from my own somali community girls because all I’m going to get from them is headache and pain, I see how their relationship with each other fade in short times because its simply was not based on true values, we really need to realize that we can not be a true friend to every one, to me a friend is an attitude within you, a talk you always can continue, a person you hold dear, who ventures far, yet stays quite near, who presence sets the spirit free, and accepts your strengths and weakness. A true friendship never leaves the heart. love Inana yabaan

hacker #1, it is clear you hit the point, and this is really where we should be getting our islamic source from...thanks a punch . Now days we see a lot of brothers and sisters who likes to play the role of a good muslims and also enforce it on others. To be a true or good muslim comes from heart first, our prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said it before, that heart is the center of being a good muslim, you may see a lot of brothers and sisters who may appear to be a true muslims, performing salaat, telling others how to be muslims but in reality they are just "munafiq" simply their heart is empty. To be a good muslim has to come from heart first and then but into action and to be directed to Allah only. I also wanna say to our good muslims it is really good to give an advice to others brothers and sisters but in the the right way only, it may be important what message you are given but it is very important they way you are given it or reaching it to others. Every day goes by, you meet different people on you way to work, school, train or even when pumping gas, it may not be important who are they but is important what impression you leave on them. Thanks inaan yabaan

hello: what is your greatest regret when you meet man/woman around?
inan yaban replied to maajo's topic in General
Well, for me I deeply regret kowing or coming across a few people who I though for a time they were my true true buddies, but then discoverd they were not worthed my love, honesty, and trust. I belive every body needs someone either a friend or some one to love but sometimes when there is no any is better to cruise life alone than to be heart broken!!! -
