It is not permissible to celebrate the birthday of the Apostle (May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), or somebody else. In fact, it must be stopped, as it is an innovation in the religion. The Apostle of Allah ( sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) - PBUH) neither celebrated it, nor commanded others to do this for himself or for any one who died before him amongst the Prophets, for his daughters his wives, or his other relatives. The rightly guided Caliphs, the Companions of the Prophet or the successors who rightly followed them did not celebrate this event, nor did any one of the Muslim scholars in the centuries before. They knew the Sunnah of the Prophet best, they loved him more, and followed the Shari'a better than those who came after them. If celebrating his birthday was a good deed, they would have done it. We are commanded to follow and forbidden to innovate. This is because of the perfection of the Islamic religion, the sufficiency of what Allah and His Messenger sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) have given us and what was accepted by Ahl-al-Sunna wal-jama'at (the Muslim community of the Companions and those who followed them in the best way). It is related to the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) that he said: "He who innovates something in this matter of ours that is not of it, will have it rejected." (Transmitted by Al-Bukhari and Muslim). According to Muslim who reported: "Whoever does an act which is not in agreement with our matter, will have it rejected." In another tradition the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "You must keep to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly-guided Caliphs, cling to it firmly... Beware of newly invented matters, for every new matter is an innovation and every innovation is misleading." He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) used to say in every Friday sermon: "The best discourse is the Book of Allah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad the Apostle of Allah, and the worst matter is that of innovation and every innovation is misleading. Thus, these traditions contain a strong caution against innovations and a warning that such an act is a deviation from the right course." The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) warned the people of the gravity of these innovations and of their bad consequences. There are many traditions adduced in this connection. And the Almighty has said: "...And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain ( from it).." (S.59 A.7) Allah, Most High said: "And let those who oppose the Messenger's commandment (i.e. his sunnah: legal way, orders, acts of worship, statements, etc.), (from among the sects) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant, etc.) befall them of a painful torment be inflicted on them." (S.24 A.63) Allah, the Almighty said: "Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much." (S.33 A.21) And Allah the Almighty said: "And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhajiroon (those who migrated from Makka to al-Madina) and the Ansar (the citizens of al-Madina who helped and gave aid to the Muhajiroon) and also who followed them exactly (in Faith), Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success." (S.9 A.100) And Allah, the Almighty said: "This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion." (S.5 A.3). This verse decisively indicates that the Almighty Allah has completed the religion for this Ummah, and has showered His blessings on them. His Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) passed away only after he had imparted the complete message of Allah to the Ummah as well as His legislations concerning sayings and deeds. He also stressed that all things invented by people and then attributed to the religion of Islam are innovations and to be rejected, even if their inventors did so in good faith. It is established that the Companions of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and the righteous successors after them warned the people against innovations as they add to Islam and legislate what is not permitted by Allah, in line with the enemies of Allah such as the Jews and the Christians who added to their religion and innovated what was not allowed by Allah. Moreover, to admit innovation in Islam is to describe it as incomplete and imperfect. Such a belief is not only an evil but contradicts the following verse: "This day, I have perfected your religion for you...." and the sayings of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) which warn us against innovations. To celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and the others, means that the Religion is not perfected by Allah (the Glorious, the Almighty) for this Ummah, and the Apostle did not impart to the people what was necessary regarding their religious duties, till these late ones appeared and invented in the religion what is not permitted by Allah, thinking that this would bring them nearer to Allah. Undoubtedly, this is a great danger and is tantamount to criticizing Allah the Almighty and the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ): whereas Allah the Almighty has already completed the religion and perfected His grace, and the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) has conveyed the message openly and informed the Ummah of all such ways that will lead them to the Paradise and save them from Hell-fire. According to an authentic Hadith, on the authority of Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "Allah Ta'ala (the Almighty) did not send a prophet but obliged him to lead his people to the best way which is known to him, and warn them against the worst which is known to him. (Transmitted by Muslim). It is well-known that our Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is the best of all the Prophets, the last and the most perfect of them regarding the way he conveyed the message and advised his people. Had the celebration of Milaad been an act of religion chosen by Allah for His servants, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) would have either explained that to his people, would have celebrated it during his life, or his Companions would have done it. As these did not happen, it becomes clear that Islam has no concern with Milaad. On the contrary, it is one of the innovations against which the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) has warned his people as mentioned earlier. A host of scholars have not only rejected the celebration of Milaad but have warned against it in view of the evidences given above. According to the rule of the Islamic Shari'a all matters regarding legalization or prohibition and all disputes among the people, should be referred to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) in line with the saying of Allah: A. "O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad ), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority, (and) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination." (S.4 A.59) B. "And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the Ruling Judge)." (S.42 A.10) Referring this issue back to the Book of Allah, we find it ordaining upon us to follow the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) in his commandments and warning us against what ever he prohibits. Furthermore it tells us that Allah has perfected the religion for the people. So, as long as Milaad is not among the teachings of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) it cannot be a part of the religion which Allah has perfected for us and asked us to adhere to by following the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). Again when we refer this issue back to the Sunnah, of the Messenger of Allah , we do not find either the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) or the Companions doing it by themselves or asking others to do it. So it becomes evident that Milaad is not a part of religion, rather one of innovations and blind imitation of the people of the book, i. e. the Jews and the Christians in their festivals. With this argument in mind, it becomes crystal clear for everyone having the least insight and inclination towards truth and justice, that celebrating any birthday has nothing to do with Islam. It is rather among the innovations which Allah and His Messenger warned against emphatically. A wise man must not be deceived by seeing a large number of people doing it throughout the world because the truth is known and recognized by the evidences of Shari'a and not by the acts of a great number of people. Allah Ta'ala (the Almighty) says regarding the Jews and the Christians: "And they say, 'None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian.' These are their own desires. Say (Muhammad) 'Produce your proof if you are truthful.' " (S.2 A.111) And the Almighty also said: "And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah's Path. They follow nothing but conjectures, and they do nothing but lie." (S.6 A.116) Most of these innovations, in addition to their innovatory nature, also do not usually escape from a number of other evils, such as mixed gatherings of men and women, songs accompanied by musical instruments. drinking intoxicants, narcotics and the like. They may also involve the worst thing i. e. the greatest Shirk (polytheism), through showing exaggeration in the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and other saints and through praying to him, invoking his help or believing that he knows what is hidden and all similar claims which render a believer as an infidel. It is authentically reported that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) has said: "Beware of extravagance in the Religion: It has caused the people before you to perish." He also said: "Do not lavish praise on me as the Christians did with the son of Maryam (Jesus, the son of Mary) . I am just a bondman. So Simply say: The bondman of Allah and His Messenger." (Transmitted by Bukhari) It is curious to note that a great many people participate most actively in these celebrations and defend them vehemently, while they sit back from attending the obligatory forms of worship such as daily and Friday prayers. They are not even ashamed of this, nor do they realize that they are committing a great evil. Undoubtedly, this shows the weakness of their faith, their short-sightedness, and the deeply ingrained rust on their hearts because of sins and disobedience. We ask Allah's protection for us and for all the Muslims. It is even more astonishing to note that some people believe that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is present at Milaad. Consequently they stand to greet and welcome him. That is not only a sheer lie but a worst form of ignorance, as the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) shall neither come out of his grave before the Day of Resurrection, nor shall he meet the people or attend their meetings. Instead, he shall remain in his grave till the Day of Resurrection while his soul rests at the highest of the high with his Lord in the most exalted and highest place. Allah Ta'ala (The Almighty) says: "After that, surely, you will die. Then (again), you will be ressurrected on the Day of Ressurection." (S.23 A.15 & A.16). And the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "I am the first one to rise from the grave on the Day of Resurrection and I will be the first intercessor and the first one whose intercession is to be accepted". The aforesaid evidences from the Qur'an and Hadith prove beyond doubt that the dead people will come out of their graves only on the Day of Resurrection. All the scholars of Islam agree upon this. A Muslim should be aware of these things and must not be easily misled by the innovations and the superstitions created by the ignorant people with no authority from Allah at all. As for offering the blessings and greetings (Salat and Salam) to the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) they are among the most preferred and virtuous deeds in accordance with the saying of Allah: "Allah sends His Salat (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy, etc.) on the Prophet (Muhammad) and also His angels too (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who Believe! Send you Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation i.e. As-Salaamu-Alaikum)." (S.33 A.56) The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) has said: "Whosoever sends blessings on me one time, Allah sends blessings on him ten times." It is prescribed on all times, particularly at the end of each prayer. It is held obligatory at last Tashahud of each prayer by most of the scholars. It is strongly required at a number of occasions such as immediately after Adhaan (the call to Prayers), at the mention of the name of the Prophet , during the day of Friday and the night preceding it according to a host of Ahadith. This is what I wanted to emphasize regarding this issue. I hope it will satisfy everyone whom Allah has shown the light. How sad it is to see some devoted Muslims, known for their strength of faith and love for the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) organizing such innovatory celebrations. Let us ask such people: "Tell us, if you belong to Ahl-as-Sunna and follow the Prophet , whether he himself or one of his Companions or their successors did this or is it no more than a blind following of the enemies of Islam from among the Jews and the Christians and the like? The love of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is not reflected by the celebration on his birthday, but by obeying him, believing in his teachings, keeping away from what he prohibited and by worshipping Allah in the way he prescribed for us. It is also reflected through offering Salat and Salam to him from time to time, particularly at the mention of his name and during prayers. May Allah help us and all the Muslims to understand His religion, to continually confirm us on it, stick to Sunnah and keep away from the innovation. Indeed He is Generous and Kind. And May Allah Shower His blessings and mercy upon our Prophet Muhammad, his Posterity and his Companions. Do you want an unconfused thoughts and an opened bosom and a calm soul and heart ? you have to ask allah's (pbth) forgiveness (ask pardon of your lord and turn to him repentant , he will cause you to enjoy a fair estate) [hud 3] do you want good and healthy body and a protection from diseases and disability ? you have to ask allah's (pbth) forgiveness (and O people ask forgiveness of your lord then turn into him repentant he will cause the sky to rain abundance on you and will add into you strength to your strength) [hud 52] do you want to be far away from the disasters and security from accidents and safty from problems and charms ? you have to ask allah's (pbth) forgiveness (but allah would not punish them while thou wast with them,nor will he punish them while they seek forgiveness) [al-anfal 33] do you want an abundance rain and pleasant offspring and an honest child and a lawful wealth and wide livelihood ? you have to ask allah's (pbth) forgiveness (and i have said seek pardon of your lord he was ever forgiving - he will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain - and will help you with wealth and sons and will assign unto you gardens and will assign unto you rivers)[nooh 10,11,12] do you want an expiation of sins and an increasing in rewards and a higher rank ? you have to ask allah's (pbth) forgiveness (and say "repentance" we will forgive you your sins and increase(reward) for the right-doers)[ al-bakarah 58] The asking for allah's (pbth) forgiveness is your successful curement against sins and faults , thats why our prophet mohammed (pbuh) ordered us to ask allah for forgiveness forever and for always, as he said (hadith) " o people ask for allah's forgiveness and repent to him as i ask for it and repent to him 100 times aday" and allah accept the honest seeker for forgiveness because he expiates his sins , as he says (the repentant) : o allah i have made faults and sins , i didnt give you your full rights ,i oppressed myself ,the devil beats me , my soul tempted me to the wrong way , and i depended on your wide patience and your generous forgiveness and your great mercy,And now i came as a repentant , regretful and seeker for your forgiveness . so forgive me and eliminate my lowness and my fault because i have no god except you and there is no god except you . o allah if my sins are great ,,,,,,* so i knew that your forgiveness is greater if there is no one seeks your forgiveness except the obedient ,,,,,,*so, from whom the criminal will seek the forgiveness ? the only way is your satisfaction ,,,,,,* and your forgiveness and to be a muslim in a hadith ( the one who keeps asking for forgiveness , allah (pbth) will relief his sorrows and release his troubles and provide him with subsistence from where he doesnt expect ) And from the gentle stories that there was a man who was disable to bring babies because of a certain disease and the physicians failed to cure him ,then he asked one of the scientists who told him keep seeking for the forgiveness from allah (pbth) in the morning and at the evening .as allah said " And provide you with wealth and children" [ nooh 12 ] then he kept asking for the forgiveness, then allah (pbth) gifted him with the pleasant offspring then to every one who is worried and sad keep asking for the forgiveness of allah (pbth) because it withdraws the sadness and eliminates the grief ,As it is the curative balsam and the enough medicine

! Good Manners at Home! !! 1. Spreading kindness in the home 'Aa'ishah (RA) said: "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'When Allah (SWT) wills some good towards the people of a household, He introduces kindness among them.'" (Reported by Imaam Ahmad in al-Musnad, 6/71; Saheeh al-Jaami', 303) According to another report: "When Allah loves the people of a household, He introduces kindness among them." (Reported by Ibn Abi al-Dunya and others; Saheeh al-Jaami', no. 1704) In other words, they start to be kind to one another. This is one of the means of attaining happiness in the home, for kindness is very beneficial between the spouses, and with the children, and brings results that cannot be achieved through harshness, as the Prophet (SAW) said: "Allah loves kindness and rewards it in such a way that He does not reward for harshness or for anything else." (Reported by Muslim, Kitaab al-Birr wa'l-Sillah wa'l-Aadaab, no. 2592) 2.Helping one's wife with the housework Many men think that housework is beneath them, and some of them think that it will undermine their status and position if they help their wives with this work. The Messenger of Allah (SAW), however, used to "sew his own clothes, mend his own shoes and do whatever other work men do in their homes." (Reported by Imaam Ahmad in al-Musnad, 6/121; Saheeh al-Jaami', 4927). This was said by his wife 'Aa'ishah (RA), when she was asked about what the Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to do in his house; her response described what she herself had seen. According to another report, she said: "He was like any other human being: he would clean his clothes, milk his ewe and serve himself." (Reported by Imaam Ahmad in al-Musnad, 6/256; al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 671) She (RA) was also asked about what the Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to do in his house, and she said, "He used to serve his family, then when the time for prayer came, he would go out to pray." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 2/162). If we were to do likewise nowadays, we would achieve three things: 1. We would be following the example of the Prophet (SAW). 2. We would be helping our wives. 3. We would feel more humble, not arrogant. Some men demand food instantly from their wives, when the pot is on the stove and the baby is screaming to be fed; they do not pick up the child or wait a little while for the food. Let these Hadith be a reminder and a lesson. 3. Being affectionate towards and joking with the members of the family Showing affection towards one's wife and children is one of the things that lead to creating an atmosphere of happiness and friendliness in the home. Thus the Messenger of Allah (SAW) advised Jabir (RA) to marry a virgin, saying, "Why did you not marry a virgin, so you could play with her and she could play with you, and you could make her laugh and she could make you laugh?" (The hadeeth is reported in a number of places in the Saheehayn, such as al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 9/121) The Prophet (SAW) also said: "Everything in which Allah's name is not mentioned is idleness and play, except for four things: a man playing with his wife." (Reported by al-Nisaa'i in 'Ushrat al-Nisa', p. 87; also in Saheeh al-Jaami') The Prophet (SAW) used to treat his wife 'Aa'ishah (RA) affectionately when doing ghusl with her, as she (RA) said: "The Messenger of Allah and I used to do ghusl together from one vessel, and he would pretend to take all the water so that I would say, 'Leave some for me, leave some for me,'" - and both of them were in a state of janaabah (impurity). (Muslim bi Sharh al-Nawawi, 4/6). The ways in which the Prophet (SAW) showed affection towards young children are too famous to need mentioning. He often used to show his affection towards Hasan and Husayn, as mentioned above. This is probably one of the reason why the children used to rejoice when he came back from travelling; they would rush to welcome him, as reported in the saheeh hadith: "Whenever he came back from a journey, the children of his household would be taken out to meet him." He (SAW) used to hug them close to him, as 'Abd-Allah ibn Jafar (RA) said: "Whenever the Prophet (SAW) came back from a journey, we would be taken out to meet him. One day we met him, Hasan, Husayn and I. He carried one of us in front of him, and another on his back, until we entered Madeenah." (Saheeh Muslim, 4/1885-2772; see the commentary in Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi, 8/56). Compare this with the situation in some miserable homes where there are no truthful jokes [i.e., jokes that do not involve lying], no affection and no mercy. Whoever thinks that kissing his children goes against the dignity of fatherhood should read the following hadeeth: from Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) kissed al-Hasan ibn 'Ali, and al-Aqra' ibn Haabis al-Tameemi was sitting with him. Al-Aqra' said: 'I have ten children and I have never kissed any one of them.' The Messenger of Allah (SAW) looked at him and said: 'The one who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.'" Tawheed has great importance as it is the pillar which islam is built upon and is something everybody should contemplate. It is the greatest need for mankiend, since there is no life for the heart nor delight nor tranquillity except through tawheed.

Nurturing Marital Love Salmaan ibn Fahd al-'Awdah He bounded up the stairs so energetically that it was hard for me to believe that here was a man of more than eighty years. He had the vitality of a youth. Then I learned the reason why: Though he had gotten married back in 1947 when he was about thirty years old, he was able to say to me: “I do not recall that I ever once got angry with my wife or that she was even once annoyed with me. And if I had a headache, it was impossible for her to sleep until after I fell asleep.†Then he said with feeling: “I can never think of going out somewhere, even to purchase some household needs, without taking her with me and holding her hand. It is as if we are newlyweds.†When, due to a medical operation, she had become unable to bear children, he said to her: “You are more precious to me than children.†He told me: “As long as she walks upon the Earth, I could never even think of marrying anyone else.†That man is a good example of how devotion can last even into old age. Unfortunately, when we look at the state of the majority of people of any age, we can appreciate that his relationship is a rarity indeed, a sort of ideal. Of course, we do not have to be held to such an ideal. Moreover, we should not go to our spouses and expect them to be like that when we ourselves have so many shortcomings. Marriage is love and affection. Allah says: “He created for you mates from among yourselves so that you can seek comfort in them and He has placed between you affection and mercy.†[sûrah al-Rûm: 21] This is why each sex is drawn to the other in the first place, as if each person is looking for his missing other half. When the wife of the famous jurist Abû Rabî`ah died, he carried out her burial himself and had to wipe the dirt from his own hands. However, when he returned home, he was overcome with grief and lamented to his Lord, his eyes filling with tears: “Now…my home has died as well. The home only lives for the woman who dwells inside it.†Marital love requires extraordinary effort from both parties if it is to last and remain vital. The difficulty of marital love does not lie in those small disagreements that are a normal part of everyday life and that all couples haves to work out. Indeed, such problems sometimes revitalize the relationship, like spice in a savory dish. The real problem lies in three things: The inability of one person to understand the other. Indeed sometimes a person even has difficulty understanding his own self. The inability of a person to adapt to the partnership that is marriage and the inability to cope with the life changes that it brings. Many people expect things to remain the same as they were before. The most important problem is a lack of commitment to the relationship and to making it last. This is why it is necessary for people to understand “the rules of the game†when it comes to love. Ten ways to achieve lasting love: Since marital love is prone to sickness and even death, it is imperative for couples to constantly work to revitalize and preserve it. Husbands and wives must do the following: 1. They have to get in the habit of saying things that are positive, like offering compliments and like making little prayers for each other. A husband could say to his wife: “If I were sent back to the days of my youth, I would not choose for a wife anyone besides you.†Of course, the wife can easily say something similar to her husband. Affectionate words have an effect, especially on women. They have, indeed, often been the weapons used by unscrupulous men to gain access to what is not theirs. Sweet words arouse a woman’s heart. A husband should take care to say them to his wife before someone else does. 2. Husbands and wives have to get into the habit of doing those little things that mean so much. If a man comes home to find his wife asleep, he can cover her and tuck her into bed. A husband can give his wife a call from work just to say hello and to let her know that he is thinking about her. If a wife finds that her husband has fallen asleep, she can give him a little kiss on the forehead, even if she thinks that he will not be aware of it. Indeed, on some level his senses are working even though he is asleep and he may very well be aware of it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) emphasized the value of these little things, “…even the morsel of food that you place in your wife’s mouth…†[sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim] It may very well be that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was alluding to the expenditure of a man for his wife’s needs. Nonetheless, the Prophet (peace be upon him) chose to express it in the way he did for a reason. Most importantly, this is the way the Prophet peace be upon him) conducted himself with his family. This type of behavior is governed by the tastes of the people involved. It may take some getting used to, but it really does not take a lot of effort. A person who is not accustomed to such things may feel embarrassed just hearing about them and may prefer to leave matters the way they are rather than try to change his behavior and do things that he might see as ridiculous. Still, we must be willing introduce new habits into our lives if we do not want our problems to go on forever. 3. The husband and wife must set aside time to talk to each other. They should talk about the past; reminisce about the good times. Talking about them keeps them fresh in our minds as if they had happened only yesterday. They should talk about the future and share their hopes and their plans. They should also talk about the present, both the good and bad of it, and discuss different ways to solve their problems. 4. Keeping close physical contact is good for the relationship. This is not just for times of intimacy, but at all times, like when sitting in the lounge or walking down the street. This is regardless of the fact that there are still men in our society who are ashamed to have people see them walking in public with their wives at their sides. 5. Emotional support should be guaranteed whenever it is required. When the wife is pregnant or on her monthly period, she may need her husband to lend her a little moral support. He should take her mental state into consideration. Medical experts attest to the fact that when women go through pregnancy, menstruation, or postpartum bleeding, they suffer from psychological stress that can aversely affect their behavior. It is at times like these that a woman needs her husband’s support. She needs him to let her know how much she means to him and how much he needs her in his life. Likewise, the husband might fall ill or come under a lot of difficulties. The wife must take these things into consideration. If people want their relationship to last, they must let each other feel that support. 6. There have to be some material expressions of love. Gifts should be given, sometimes without there being any occasion for it, since a pleasant surprise is always welcome. A good gift is one that expresses feelings of affection. It does not have to be expensive, but it has to be appropriate for the other’s tastes and personality; something that will be cherished. 7. The husband and wife have to learn how to be more tolerant of each other and overlook one another’s shortcomings. It should become a habit to forget about the little mistakes of daily life and not even bring them up. Silence in these trivialities is a sign of noble character. A woman said to `Â’ishah: “When my husband comes home, he becomes like a cat. When he goes out, he becomes like a lion. He does not ask about what might have happened.†[sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim] Ibn Hajar explains her words as follows: They might mean that he is very generous and tolerant. He does no make a big fuss about what goes missing of his wealth. If he brings something for the house, he dies not enquire about it later on. He does not make an issue of the shortcomings that he might see at home but instead is clement and tolerant. It is wrong to go overboard in considering the faults of others but when it comes to ourselves, keep a running account of all our good qualities. There is a tradition that goes: “One of you sees the dust in his brother’s eyes and forgets about the dirt in his own.†8. A husband and wife must come to an understanding when it comes to matters of mutual concern, like the raising of children, work, travel, expenses, and problems that might pose a threat to the marital relationship. 9. Husbands and wives need to do things to liven up their relationship. Each one of them can read a book or listen to a cassette that might give them some ideas on how they can revitalize their marital life and bring more meaning to it. They can vary their habits when it comes to relaxing together, dining, taking refreshments, decorating their home, and in relating to each other both openly and intimately. These are the things that keep up the excitement and interest in a relationship. 10. The relationship must be protected from negative influences that can harm it. One of the worst of these is the habit of comparing one’s spouse to others. Many men tend to compare their wives to those of other men. Some even compare them with the faces they see in magazines and on television. Women also compare their husbands with other women’s husbands in things like wealth, looks, and how many times he takes her out. All of this makes people feel bad and insufficient and it can ruin the marital relationship. If we must compare ourselves to others, we should do so with those who have less going for them than ourselves. Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “Look towards those who are beneath you and do not look towards those who are above you. This is better so that you do not belittle Allah’s blessings.†[sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim] We must accustom ourselves to living in the real world and to finding contentment in what Allah has decreed for us. We should not look longingly at what others have been given. Whatever little that we have will be a lot if we utilize it well. It is quite possible that many who speak about their marital bliss and go on boasting about their husbands and wives are untruthful in what they say. They just like to brag. The grass often does seem greener on the other side, but only because we are not looking at it up close.

It is difficult to find the right person, some one you can trust and with all these points you have mentioned First the guy must be-- 1. responsible ( able to handle family duties) 2. good character (not an aggresive, but patient person) 3. Knowledgeable (knows the rights of his family upon him provided by the religion offcourse) 4. Iman ( most important choice; must have faith in Allah) 5. finally, he must be of YOUR CHOICE I feel it is almost impossible to find such a person these days that is why marriage is the last think on my mind.
