  1. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HH, LOL. Ok, Garowe is my capital, until the residence of Mogadishu sort out their problems.
  2. what is happening in your capital city ??? why the fight doesn't stop there ?? I Don't understand.
  3. I didn't make the map, so i can only guess. Maybe because that area is disputed and doesn't have a name. i.e Maakhir, Puntland. Maybe the person who made it hails from there and wanted people to know where that tribe lived in the area. I don't know. We need to find the person that made it, if a Puntlander made it, I dont think they'd put Maakhir. Who knows. So when are your elections, october or will they be pushed for a 4th time?
  4. Somaliland.org Some people wondered why Riyaale read an unrelated out of topic hand written speech with no substance, full of lies, and had no connection with the occasion of May 18th! In fairness to him what would an ex-NSS agent who in a strange twist of fate became president for the very people he fought against them when he even did not convert, say? What would the guy, who happened to be in the wrong place, for the wrong occasion, say? What would he say? Would he tell the truth once and for all and say, “ I have a blood in my hands. I looted the country to the finish. I and Awil and Ina Sulub are creating a civil war and the operation is on process and in progress!” Instead Riyaale talked about Al shabaab fighting in Somalia. He rightly called them “AAFO” a menace to the region! The author agrees him for the first time in this! Indeed they are! What Riyaale forgot to say was that, he and his gang are also “ AAFO- QARAN” a menace to the peninsula! Riyaale the illegitimate president, his brain Mr. Awil and flock, ruling Somaliland up side down and Al Shabaab of Somalia have distinct and destructive similarity! Both the groups boost a danger not only to their respective countries, Somalia and Somaliland, but to the whole region as well, each one in their own unique ways, means and methods! Both the remnants of Somaliland and A Shabaab of Somalia committed a gross violation of human rights! Both of them disregard the process of democracy! In fact democracy it self! Both of them have dictatorial tendencies. They are the wrong flock to be around in the first and second place! They are a real problem Somalia and Somaliland have to tackle. The region and the international community must understand or help them to understand the gravity of the problem the Siyad Barre remnants everywhere and Al Shabaab boost to the area. Remnants in Somaliland are busy a) looting the country to the deck! b) They are also busy creating civil war in a calm and calculated way! Al Shabaab on the other hand is doing their evil undertaking violently. Somaliland was founded on the bases of: Reflection and not Retribution, Forgiveness and not revenge. Conflict resolution and not conflict creating, Compromise, consensus and common ground. The remnants running Somaliland wrongly turned the above virtues and principles upside down! Corruption is beyond bound! They brought shame and disgrace to Somaliland as they and their mentor Siyad Barre did to what once was-Somali Republic. Saving Somaliland is saving the region from another Somalia, a sure disaster! Remnants are fanning a fire that could consume the region Peaceful Somaliland my end up violent like Somalia! Somaliland my end up Al Shabaab territory if the local and the international community fail to check and ultimately defeat the remnants in Somaliland Somaliland is stranded with a lapse of judgment in a moment emotions overflowed when Siyad Barre was defeated by the popular SNM! Somaliland sovereignty and existence cannot be traded away as the remnants want to! Lastly the local and the international community must work together to save Somaliland from the remnants who are a different other side of the same coin with Al Shabaab of Somalia! Both are demons of destruction, which we have to confront and defeat! However, peace Ibrahim Mead
  5. I'm pretty sure if it was Puntland they wouldn't write down Maakhir, especailly with Ilko-Jiir as a Minister who visited the whole area. When has the elections in Somaliland been pushed back to for the 3rd time, I heard October, is that true?
  6. Abused? are you serious? I think the person is proud. They also write xabsaade at the lascaanod part. I dont see it as abuse at all. They might have gotten it from a site that comes from that region who knows. The pics are amazing, Puntland is amazing, all that was made without a real government, unlike other places that had Siad Government build them Airports and Ports, Puntland did everything on it's own (they have a sea port that was only less them 50% finished), before the civil war, bosasso was tiny, no buildings. The pics are a testament to the peoples will.
  7. Because unlike Puntland or Maakhir it does not have a name or maybe the person that made it made it for that reason. How do you like the pics?
  8. You mention Piracy and the former admin. I have an opinion and provide facts to try and back it up. I'm not bashing President Faroole, it is way to early to say what kind of job he is doing. But if you want to mention piracy was inherited, I disagree. President Farooles son is able to call his contacts and arrange a meeting with one of the biggest pirate leaders and a western journalist but wants to do it outside the city so he is not seen with a pirate in public. You have your opinion on the origins of piracy, I have mine.
  9. I remember in 2006, when the ethiopian army was coming to mogadishu the ICU led by Aweys quickly left the city and claimed they wanted to limit civilian deaths. I wonder what changed now and why they don't have the same consideration.
  10. I never took it personal. Pirate attacks are up far more now then they ever were. There are attacks daily. I am not sure of the security situation you are speaking off, where you in Puntland during the 4 years? I went from Bosasso, Gaalkayo, Goldogob, Lascaanod and back. I really didnt'see any situation in 2005 to 2009. Maybe you are going by the websites run by outside sources who had political motivations. There was definitely problems. Did you read the article when Mohamed Abdirahman Faroole took a western journalist to interview the biggest known pirate outside of Garowe? Why out of all of Somalia, i.e Somaliland, the south. Why is Eyl the most productive port? Attacks are up this year, far more then ever before. I'm not deny anything you are saying but the piracy issue, it flourished right before an election year especially in one area. A huge chunk of Puntlands forces and resources were in Mogadishu defending the TFG, after the battles in Lascaanod and more importantly the suicide bombings, what security forces left where defending the heart of the State, there was no way forces could be sent to Eyl, that was the responisble of Nugaal. And some how the presidents son is able to organize meetings with a pirate leader for western journalist right outside of Garowe. If you were the presidents son, would you bring a journalist to a pirate leader? His son is so hated right now, that Garoweonline(which happens to be the sons website) had to put an article that is still up trying to picture him in a better light. I mean he's not a politician or any one important, but they had to put something written in Somali by an associate in Australia to try and change the public image on him. Like I said nothing personal, you think things are getting better, I respect your opinion.
  11. These guys inherited a state with so many issues, piracy and lack of security being on the top Inherited? Come on now, we know what province Eyl is in, Bari has a bigger coast but you dont see pirate bases springing up(Bosasso had some issues and because of it's size is being dealt with), out of all of Somali coast Eyl is by far the most productive port with the most ships on it's coast. Every article written mentions the cars and buildings being built in Garowe. I've been their and saw SUV after SUV. Piracy was not inherited! Piracy is flourishing in one area and was politically motivated. It is now out of hand and can't be stopped. I heard now that it is the storm season so they'll be very little activity.
  12. Somaliland existed in UN headquarter before there was a such thing as Somali Republic. Check your history books. Even Malcolm X stated in his speachs. With that being said, we, Somalilanders, are ready to change our name when the time is right. Waayo waad ku xaar xxarteen saaxiib....Now what? No, it was Italian SOMALILAND and British SOMALILAND. The countries names were to tell you who was coloniazing and the SOMALILAND part was to tell you what people and land they had. The whole land was Somaliland that's why you used (British, Italian) to tell the two apart. So i'll say it one more time, both sides were Somaliland. This is why it makes no sense to call yourselves because everywhere is Somali land. Are you serious?
  13. taiwan is not Chinaland! I never understood that, you would think they would want to distance themselves if they wanted no part of Somalia. But by calling themselves Somaliland. I honestly believe the founders never intended to really break away, that is the only logical explanation.
  14. Alertnet.org 20 May 2009 13:37:32 GMT Source: IRIN Reuters and AlertNet are not responsible for the content of this article or for any external internet sites. The views expressed are the author's alone. KALABAIT, 20 May 2009 (IRIN) - Two clans in Somaliland's Elberdale farmland in Gabiley region, who have fought intermittently in the past five months over disputed farmland, have agreed a ceasefire, a mediator said. Abdirahman Warsame, a member of the Somaliland's Guurti mediation committee, told IRIN on 17 May that 25 elders from each clan had sworn to end fighting and to reconcile the two clans. However, talks aimed at resolving the dispute, which started in mid-April between the Hared and the Nour clans, are ongoing in Kalabait. The government sent military and police troops to Elberdale last month in a bid to stop the fighting. On 14 May, elders visited patients admitted to hospital in Gabiley and Dila areas who had been injured in previous fighting over the Elberdale farmland. "We went to Gabiley Hospital and to Dila Hospital to see all those who were injured in the conflict; we also ascertained the number of those who have died," Aden Elabe, one of the elders, told IRIN. Elabe said the team of elders also visited areas where farmers from Elberdale had fled, such as Geed Diqsi, Jaldhabaha, Satile and Da'walay, to reassure them the conflict would be resolved. However, local officials have expressed concern over farmers missing the present planting season. Elabe Mohamoud Hufane, the mayor of Dila district in Awdal region, said: "This is the season when farmers grow sorghum and maize but here in Dila district, we have more than 120 families who fled the conflict in early April and are yet to return to their farms in Burdi and Geed Diqsi areas."
  15. Correction, Somaliland isn't Somalia. According to who?
  16. Mr. Oodweyne, if you consider your constant debating tactic of accusing the other person of not understanding the issue at hand, and then refusing to answer any questions as an engagement, then so be it. You continuously mention Col. Yeey and Pirate land. I think your obsession with Abdullahi Yusuf is a little concerning, however. All I am trying to show you is that you leader is a man that has tortured and executed people. He is a man that after gaining power refuses to hold elections. My whole argument and the only reason why I mention him is so that you can realize that you are attacking Abdullahi Yusuf constantly when you are in no position to do so. All in all; if you ever want to understand Somaliland, and her fitful of democratisation process, see to it to look thing, in that larger scope and ask yourself, which entity” in the old Somali peninsula could even attempt to come close what Somaliland is attempting to perfect (even if she is failing as of this moment to hit the bull’s eye, in that endeavour of hers). That's what you don't understand what Somaliland is attempting is not impressive. For one dominate tribe to break away is rather easy. When you have the opposition and the current vice president members of the this tribe as well. What is more impressive is when a diverse(for somali standards) group tries to form a government and work together(like President Sharifs government), a group that have had issues between the two of them and are willing to try to put them aside, rather then trying to make borders and seperating. So the rest of the "somali-peninsula" is far more impressive to the worlds eyes, which is why the leaders Somalia selects are given presidential treatment by being invited to summits, opening embassies and even promised 250 million in aid and just recently Australia promised more money. The world is more impressed by this then one "group" trying to break away, and don't ever forget that. After all is said and done, Riyaale was elected to the position and is now unwilling to step down, and with his questionable bloody past, it's obvious why. So, while you always mention Col. Yey and Pirate Land, you hailing from where you hail from are in no position to talk and should focus on your own leader and land.
  17. Whenever Riyaale is brought up, Mr. Oodweyne, must first accuse the person he is responding to of not being of his calibre or understanding the argument and then slither away. There is no defense against Riyaale, he is a man that refuses to step down and has thrown away your election, you have never had a peaceful transition of power. So while you speak of Col. Yey as you like to say. The fact of the matter is that he is in retirement and has given up power peacefully. Where's as your leader refuses to do the same. Simple as that. This is why recognition is no closer then it was from day one. Africa doesn't need another corrupt leader who doesn't know how to step down.
  18. This is an SL-SL thing, the author is from there, and the website he posted it is a s/lander one. Now they are trying to discredit him, because he is speaking about the corrupt adn bloody past.
  19. Every corrupt leader not just Riyaale and Ask the author and somalilander Political analyst Ibrahim Mead about the war criminal.
  20. These so called businessmen also launder the Somaliland shillings, which circulates only in Hargeisa and surroundings but not all over Somaliland and gave them US DOLLARS! Those dollars goes to over seas bank accounts! Those businessmen are the main reason why Somaliland is under this unfortunate circumstance created by Riyaale and Awil! Therefore, the said tradesmen are in accomplice with the national crimes in progress in Somaliland! Fake money, you must have not read the entire article on this thread that I found on Somaliland.org, the corrupt money practices you speak of also occurs in your neck of the woods, according to the Somalilander writing this article. So you can't be trying to make fun of Puntland when it occurs even more where you hail from. Piracy, Money Laundering, is nothing compared to what Riyaale has been accused of by his fellow country men.
  21. How is he compared to yey? How do you claim you were treated during the civil war and how many people suffered? Riyaale had a roll in that. A big one. Do you deny that?
  22. Every article is someone's personal view, the bottom line is your president has blood on his hands and slowly people are become upset. Now we have oodweyne begging for war to come to your borders to unite the people and take the growing pressure off the government. Your corrupt presidents past is slowly catching up with him.
