  1. The Garaad Jama said it himself when he issued his state he will use "by any means necessary." There are tons of potential suspects. Even NW Somalia is, we all know there are major issues with Riyaale extending his term and refusing to hold elections that got him into power. This could be a group from lascaanod that are upset that they have no representation in your government. I am just saying this could have come from many places. So don't try and blame Puntland and the people before you proof.
  2. Originally posted by Che -Guevara: Very unfortunate but hopefully the good will stand up but if there was any doubt who run northern Somalia, let this be the truth. And who runs southern Somalia? Who is supplying them with endless amounts of guns and ammo. The random assasinations and bombings, who is convincing them to keep killing. Who would benefit from seeing us in constant turmoil. The people in the south are more destructive then anyone in one in the north.
  3. Parliament This is a article from less then a year ago clearing proving Puntland has a parliament. my knowledge of that desert adeer. The fact you would refer to it as a desert, proves your ignorance. That insult also proves that you are not from Puntland and have negative feelings towards it....so please don't answer any question about the state.
  4. kajdes, Don't listen to Zack. Doesn't know what he is talking about. Puntland has a parliament, I believe it is still 66 members. They even use the english word Parliament back home. I have no clue when they are next meeting, reliable news is hard to come by lately.
  5. Typical of Mr. Che, makes an annoucement and refuses to repond to any questions. You are not a Puntland and have never supported any of it's governments.

  7. Faroole sons are working on a brand new website that should be coming out soon. They are still testing it, it should be better then first website Puntland ever had. This one should have video's and what not. I still don't understand why they haven't updated the previous one while they worked on their new one. It's quite sad. I can't even imagine how many people around the world must have visited the site to get more info on Puntland, since it's been in the media so much and see that the english sectin hasn't been updated since January. Makes it look like there is no government there since January.

  9. Originally posted by Che -Guevara: you heard Faroole saying Puntland citizens and ethnic Somalis are two diffirent things! In a sense it is true what he is saying, it's been almost twenty years since we've been seperated with the south, they've made it clear that they don't want us there or anything kind of a central or administrative government, that's why they called they formed a union of courts and fight any government that comes. The seperation in somalis has resutled in the two sides growing their own identities. I think any country that broke up like we did for this long would have a similar problem. The new generation of children aren't growing up with a diverse group of somalis from all corners of the country. People are not unity and are seperating.
  10. Where's Oodweyne? Why didn't Riyaale get anything like this when he went to Kuwait?
  11. On some sites it says that no government officials were present so i'm pretty sure he is just back because it is his homeland.
  12. Peacenow Why are you on this site if Somalia and it's people are so pathetic? It's people with your hatred that causes problems. You need some serious mental health evaluation.
  13. General Morgan is a looser We know, all those who don't hail from the Berbera- Burao-Hargeisa triangle are losers and everyone inside are winners.
  14. Oodweyne, why isn't the admin in Hargeysa protesting Gen Morgans stay in Kenya? Back when Siad Barre went to Kenya everyone did and he was forced to go to Nigeria. Why doesn't you "ambassador" in kenya or government make a formal complaint? You think the so-called butcher of Hargeysa would dominate your governments attention as they prepare evidence and what not. I wonder why Riyaale doesn't care to go after someone blamed for so much violence.

  16. lady Edna Adan Dhakhtar Is Dhakhtar mean Doctor? Is that because of her father? Or you think that because she is a trained mid-wife she is a doctor, do you consider that the same as someone that finished medical school? Wouldn't the Doctor come before her name....please explain Mr. Oodweyne.
  17. Peasant You're entitled to your opinion and so am I. If you think in Puntland people think that Garowe, Nugaal was causing all that turmoil because they were upset, you are wrong. They wanted the power and got it. Why is there no video's of any other cities and town rioting? You didnt see any of the problems in other cities. Why is Eyl the most well known and successful base? Regardless it's history.
  18. Originally posted by peasant: Cawkow Cade was just one big ciyaalka xaafada saxiib and his admin could not even manage the security of Garowe, the capital city let alone other parts of the state. I remember at one point in garowe, gangs of small kids rose and they were shooting each other at night with pistols. Because there were no police to clamp down on these youngsters, the city's elders and some business folks had to come together to start hiring police to tackle the problem since the admin was not able to do so. To me at that point i just said this guy is useless. The only thing that guy is admired for is the fact that he stepped down peacefully.... I agree with you, Garowe and Nugaal for that matter refused to help with security. Trying to take over parliament, jail breaks, murders. That specific city that is no where near the size of Bosasso and Gaalkayo, and doesn't have as many displaced people living in it contiuously caused problems. By the next elections, they have the presidency...hmmmmm, strange. Look at all the fake food riots, it all took place in Garowe. I didnt see any other cities rioting. I've said it many times, look at where the most successful pirate bases are, and where all the interviews of pirates are taken.
  19. Ok so it's not just me that find this strange. I find it strange that his change happened on Garoweonline to. I wonder why he chose them.
  20. This is what I am talking about. Pay close attention to the authors name and e-mail address and especially the title of both "articles" he wrote. How can some write a piece defending the VOA on Oct 6th 2009 and then one attacking the VOA less then 2 weeks later on October 17th 1009 on the President Faroole's family run website? Where did this 180 degree turn come from. Whenever someone writes something in english that is critical of the admin, they are either: arrested, banned or paid off to write something favourable to the admin. Why would Mr. Liban Ahmed Defend VOA and then later on Garoweonline run by Presidents Farooles son, attack the service. From Radio, Internet and cartoonists all forms of critical media is slowly being suppressed here.
  21. In defence of the VOA Somali Service October 6, 2009 filed under OPINION · Comments (0) Horseednet In defence of the VOA Somali Service | read this item Puntland government’s decision to suspend the reporting duties of VOA stringers in Galkacyo, Garowe and Bosaso is deplorable. In a letter signed by Deputy Minister for Information, Abdishalur Mire Adam, states the three VOA stringers — Nuux Muuse Birjeeb, Maxamed Yaasiin Isxaaq and Cabdiqaadir Maxamed Nuunow — were instructed to abide by the suspension decision from the Ministry of Information. In another letter jointly signed by the Puntland Security Minster, CabdullaahI Siciid Samatar, and Deputy Information Minster, the reasons for “prohibiting local FM radio stations” from transmitting VOA Somali Service programming are: news fabrication on “ (a) politicians who were detained in Puntland and ( b) a news item on alleged Puntland offices of Ahlu Sunna wal Jama’a,” the anti Al Shabab group fighting in middle regions of Somalia. Puntland government letters show that no attempt was made to raise the issue with VOA bosses. The VOA has editorial guidelines that guide the work of every VOA journalist. It will not be surprising if one concludes that Puntland government decision is aimed at censoring the work of the Puntland based journalists who may be forced to seek clearance for any stories they wish to file for the news organisations and agencies they work for. Even if the VOA Somali Service reporters failed to fact-check their sources or allowed themselves to be used as a mouth-piece, the manner in which Puntland government has dealt with VOA stringers shows inability to handle ‘negative’ news coverage about Puntland. Adde Muuse’s administration used to rebut allegations by using a press release. Puntland Government ought to rethink its approach to the media. Liban Ahmad E-Mail: Libahm@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------ VOA Somali Service Violates the Broadcaster’s Journalistic Code 17 Oct 17, 2009 - 11:28:17 PM Garoweonline The VOA Somali service stringer’s report ( Somalida ku nool Uganda posted on VOA Service’s website, October 12) on the Somali owned businesses in Uganda was an interesting but unbalanced report. It shows how stringers can violate VOA journalistic code (un)wittingly. The VOA Somali Service stringer, Xasan Fanax, anonymously quoted a group of Somali business people whom the Kampala Mayor told that Somalis are the second business community in terms of paying more business tax compared to other communities. The stringer did not check the veracity of the quote from the “the Somali business people”. This oversight is a violation of the VOA code on sourcing: “ VOA news and programming must be rigorously sourced and verified. VOA normally requires a minimum of two independent (non-VOA) sources before any newswriter, background writer, political affairs writer, correspondent, or stringer may broadcast information as fact in any language” The VOA Somali Service stringer introduced ‘Cabdiraxmaan Foodcade’ as a Somali business man from Australia. In another segment of the report Cabdiraxmaan Foodcade is introduced as Bakaal Money Transfer representative in Kampala, giving the impression that the whole report was PR exercise for a money transfer company. The stinger did not interview any other business person nor had the VOA Somali Service editors checked the content of the report against the VOA journalistic code particularly the accuracy and balance code which states: “Accuracy and balance are paramount, and together, they are VOA's highest priority. Accuracy always comes before speed in VOA central service and language programming. VOA has a legal obligation to present a comprehensive description of events, reporting an issue in a reliable and unbiased way.” Are VOA Somali Service’s staff members assessed on knowledge of the VOA journalistic code? If such flaws come to light how does the VOA address? It is noteworthy that the VOA Somali has become one of the major sources of information for Somalis but failure to ensure the public broadcaster’s journalistic code is used throughout all language services can equally undermine the VOA Somali Service’s image. 22. Last time Riyaale went, he was chased out with in hours and has never ever returned again.
  23. Do you have any clue what happened to Riyaale the last time he went to the city?
