  1. I think the issue is with Xaaji's term "faroole loyalists," it has been used in the media quite a bit with Qaddafi loyalists; so Xaaji starts copying the term. No doubt, whatever term is being used in the media - Xaaji will start using it. Regardless it's good to see that Xaaji is concerned about his fellow country men. I await more details on this sad incident. I know Bosasso had an issue today as well.
  2. missed that thread! He can go to a lot of places with his militia! The youth won't protest like they did on May 18th with those many gunmen around
  3. Wait Xaaji....he's done his Awdal trip??? What happened to travelling to Borama the capital of Awdal? Or did I miss something and he did go?
  4. Khadra Mohamed, secretary-general of Somaliland's internally displaced persons (IDP) organization, expanding the number of people per IDP family to 10-20. Definition: An internally displaced person (IDP) is someone who is forced to flee his or her home but who remains within his or her country's borders. They are referred to 'internally displaced' by the so-called secretary-general of NW Somalia, however in JB's own world he see's different. Further proof where Siilaanyo is directing the triangle admin.
  5. We know who is posting threads whenever a problem occurs somewhere else! I agree, with me I was going after the hypocrisy of why mention one side’s dilemma but remaining completely silent when their tribal enclave reports the exact same news. For instance the same UNDP site reports: Lifting the taboo on sexual violence The Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Somaliland...............In the first six months of 2009, SARC dealt with 65 cases of sexual violence against women and men. http://www.so.undp.org/index.php/Somalia-Stories/Lifting-the-taboo-on-sexual-violence.html Regardless this is ridiculous, secessionists on this site have to hide their internal issues and magnify Somalia's problems in order to con people into thinking they are different. I do agree, Somalis back home hold no animosity.
  6. This is what the government is willing to acknowledgement! SOMALILAND: Police reveal 2010 annual crimes – surge in rape, murder http://somalilandpress.com/somaliland-police-reveal-2010-annual-crimes-surge-in-rape-murder-19050 HARGEISA (Somalilandpress) — Somaliland’s police enforcement chief, Mr Abdullahi Fadal Aiman released the annual crime report on Wednesday (3rd November) to local media and the public during a ceremony commemorating the 17th anniversary since the creation of the national force. Mr Aiman paid tribute to his men and women in uniform by saying they have remarkably executed their mandate since their creation in 1993 and contributed the overall stability in the country. The National Police Force was created after the harmonization of warring militants that removed the Siad Bare totalitarian regime. Each of the country’s 6 administrative regions have a police commandant and commissioned officers that maintain law and order in the districts. The police under these divisional and station commands carries out an array of tasks that include criminal investigation, patrolling, traffic management and the protection of leaders and foreign dignitaries under the UK-funded and trained Special Protection Unit (SPU) wing. The force also includes a small number of anti-riot personnel. Even though the police comes under the Minister of Interior, the force functions completely independent and works closely with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the military. The latest figures comparing a 12 month period from November 2009 to November 2010 show surge in crimes in Somaliland’s urban towns. There have been significant rise in the number of reported sexual offences, murder and road fatalities. There has been 5.2 per cent increase in murder cases from last year figures; 64 people were arrested for the 81 cases reported for murder, 17 cases have not been solved. There has been sharp surge in sexual related crimes (rape), 186 cases were reported, an increase of 19.24 per cent. About 206 people were accused, 162 arrests were made. Somaliland police during the 17th anniversary celebration Road toll in the country has been recorded for the first time; there were 1496 road accidents throughout the country which led to 148 fatalities, 1279 injuries, 410 cars damaged and 182 livestock were killed. In a country where the consumption and selling of alcohol is illegal, the police destroyed about 2,221 litres (586 gallons) of alcohol, making 21 arrests. For the first time in Somaliland’s history, six cases were reported as suicide related. The police also recorded 8 cases of boarder babies–infants abandoned by their mothers, in total two have died while six others are in foster care and receiving medical care. In total, Mr Aiman revealed in the past year the police handled 18,343 cases; 5015 of them brought in front of a court, while 8584 cases were resolved through mediation, further 1788 cases were judged or imprisoned. He added 3511 cases were dismissed or lacked insufficient evidence while 1223 cases are currently under investigation. The latest figures show the rise in crime in Somaliland’s urban towns in particular the worrying levels of rape, road fatality and murder. Unless the new regime tackles the ongoing problems, Somaliland could become the new Johannesburg of the Horn. ------- I'll take a break from here during the holy month - Ramadan kareem to all!
  7. Strange according to the U.S and U.K they mention NW Somalia equally as dangerous as the rest of Somalia. The Sanaag and Sool Regions in eastern Somaliland, bordering on Puntland (northeastern Somalia), are particularly unsafe due to ongoing border disputes and inter-clan fighting. Lines of control in Mogadishu are unclear and frequently shift, making movement within Mogadishu extremely hazardous. There also have been several fatal attacks and violent kidnappings against international relief workers throughout Somalia, Somaliland, and Puntland. On October 14, 2010, a British relief worker was kidnapped in Adado, near the Ethiopian border and held for several days before being released. We advise against all travel to Somalia. There is a high threat to western, including British, interests from terrorism in Somalia, including Somaliland. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers. Since the death of Osama Bin Laden terrorist groups operating in Somalia have made threats against Westerners and those working for western organisations in Somalia, including Somaliland. There is ongoing serious violence between opposing factions.
  8. Actually the population of Burco (even if we are very generous) is at 400,000 and thus having multiple people slaughtered with knives in one night is not normal. It does not happen in every city in the world. Do we hear this occurring in other area's of NE and NW Somalia? Killings and stabbings occur everywhere, but multiple murders like what happened in Burco is not common or normal. We know NW Somalia usually hides all news that involve crimes like this in order that they depict their enclave as peaceful. Yet not one secessionists will even mention these incidents, or the rural fighting that took place near the triangle over land disputes last year.
  9. NASSIR;737300 wrote: It's multi- dimensional. Some of the factors: Chronic Nepotism Clan Rivalry Contraversy over the exploitation of the natural resources beneath the Ufeyn area. So if that is the case then why aren't we seeing these kinds of incidents taking place in Bosasso or other bigger cities? These fights take place in nomatic area's. We see fighting taking place all over Somalia, from Burco that I mentioned to other area's. The fighting is over the lack of fertile land. The resources almost always include water and land for livestock to graze.
  10. General Duke;737281 wrote: ^^^XX, knows that in Burco killing with knifes is far better than deaths with bullets. Its part of being civilized to use kitchen cutlery to cut meat. is that not right XX Salax on the other hand thinks two clan Nomads fighting is a rebellion. The weird things is that they are quick to report Puntlands rural issues, however they never do when the killings are happening right in their triangle admins territory. Atleast report kills no matter where they occur.
  11. Xaaji, I guess by your logical what happened in Rwanda with machetes and kitchen knives is more civilized then guns. The killings in Burco are happening in the city, not in the rural (baadiyo) area's like in Puntland. For the size in population of Burco and the numbers of murders by knives, in such a short time, is not normal.
  12. Of course the secessionsts won't report about the numerous clan murders taking place in the triangle right? Where people are being slaughtered for nothing. This is why foreigners who travel rarely leave Hargeysa since Siilaanyo took office. Like I said before Burco is so bad right now even pro-Siilaano nwsomalia.org is forced to mention the murders, as opposed to sweeping it under the rug as usual. Why are you not reporting about the murders in your enclave? Let me guess because these murderers are using a knives which is more civilized right? We are not talking about rural murders, this is Burco and people running around killing each other with knives is not normal! --------- Taliyaha Booliska Tog-dheer Oo Ka Hadlay Dilal ka dhacay Magaalada Burco http://www.somaliland.org/2011/07/15/taliyaha-booliska-tog-dheer-oo-ka-hadlay-dilal-ka-dhacay-magaalada-burco/ July 15th, 2011 Comments Off Burco (Somaliland.Org):- Taliyaha qaybta Ciidanka Booliska ee Gobolka Tog-dheer Saleebaan Ducaale Ubaxle (Dhega cadde) ayaa markii u horraysay ka hadlay dilalka oo beryahan dambe ku soo badanayay Magaalada Burco kuwaasi oo loo adeegsanayay Toorriyo. 13. Why is the commentator/so-called reporter lying? Not a single sececessionsts flag can be seen amoung the people.
  14. Interesting that Atam is considered a victor or that some how has negotiating powers. But we all know that the man is a coward. We know that all Puntland leaders and stakeholders, past and present can show their face in public. We know Ataam is the man hiding in the mountains. If he was truly a honorable man or had any self-respect he would not be hiding. Only criminals are do what he is. Ataam has no insurgency, this is why Puntland vice president toured his former base and why Ataam himself was asking the residence of Eastern Sanaag why they were coming to his aid. So to reiterate, if Ataam is consider a victor now or back in 2006, the people know who is the man that is hiding and fearful of arrest and what sides leaders visit Bosasso (travelling the main road) continuously. The outcome of the battles have been determined by the fact that Ataam is still hiding to this day.
  15. Come on now Oodweyne. Look at the empty seats where Mr. Bellingham is speaking. You and I both know there are a lot of secessionists who are upset at him. First with the British office's official press release that made no mention of your enclave. Second, many are upset at the fact that he will not even touch the recognition topic - in any context. Did Siilaanyo and other guys bring it up to Mr. Bellingham? No doubt, however, we both know that Mr. Bellingham speech never spoke of it once. So you can come along and say the two men spoke in private about how to start a space program in Hargeysa or Mercedes Benz factory, but there is nothing on record and like always you will speak about imaginary topics with no proof. The U.K minister visit was suppose to be cause from great celebration, however many are upset that he made not a single mention of recognition. It is quite clear by the lack of attendance to his speech and the lack of coverage from the so-called media.
  16. That's what I thought, the title doesn't match the article.
  17. Ibtisam, This is excellent news, I hope Hargeysa becomes the next Dubai, Western nations promising aid is nothing new, hopefully it will come to fruition. Just like U.S Senator Mark Kirk visted Bosasso, I think all of this is cause for celebration. As long as Mr. Bellingham continues to not entertain or comment on breaking up Somalia, I support this.
  18. In September 2007, the Company was advised that the Ministry of Water and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Somaliland Secessionists and their websites! They think they are clever but they are truly amateurs, because any site that states NW Somalia is a "republic", is definitely affiliated with the triangle administration in Hargeysa. Nice try!
  19. There's a large NW Somalia diaspora in the UK, so logically he is tapping into this group. The trip makes sense as well as the classic tactic of offering aid to a political base. The NW Somalis in the UK want to hear him say these things. The man is a politician, he is seeking votes and/or support! We know with no doubt Siilaanyo and his ministers spoke mostly about recognition in their meeting. However, Mr. Bellingham made sure not to even touch the recognition topic; despite the need for votes.
  20. Interesting, not a single mention of regonition in any kind of context. We all know NW Somalia's number one goal is recognition, why no mention of it? Why didn't he say what everyone was waiting to hear? Strange that he avoided that topic! I think the UK Gov't press release was quite clear that this visit was to Somalia. Nonetheless, I guess hand outs from western nations are a good thing. Also, I wonder if he refused to allow the British flag to be hoisted up. Is it me, or was the room quite empty?
  21. Taleexi;736414 wrote: Slowly but surely Somalis are coming back together for reviving the union. So true, the secessionists contribution to Somaliaonline, by reporting news concerning Puntland, the TFG and their enclave is cause for great celebration. You wouldn't see these many Djibouti's or other different nationalities posting like this.
  22. The most important aspect is that this new state is saying that they will remain a part of Somalia and not breaking away as a family like the Hargeysa triangle admin. Well I guess most regions want to macromanage their area's and some feel the need to micromanage.
  23. It seems that ever since a small group of criminals hijacked a region and decided to reject exploration, things have drastically changed. Now even the TFG has realized what important members are to be included in minister positions.............forget about president or vice-president roles.
