  1. Mr. Paragon (we agree on something), at least I am not the only one that is NOT naive. Who won't believe everything that is written and never questioned them? Especially! Somali sites that aren't scared of being sued. I agree this story is big, but I am yet to find a site that has reported it as well, which is weird. Still, it might be completely true. These NW Somalis and Southerners want us to believe their news against Puntland. We are not going to start living in your imaginary world. Where you are the good guys and we are the villains.
  2. I haven't seen any other websites verify this, but if it is true - it would be a significant event. In less then a year, 2 ministers resign, very important ones to.
  3. Ok Nogobi, I'll look past all the changes in the story and believe it okay! So for now on whenever a U.S government officals speaks about Somalia, i'll believe it.
  4. As for the story, over a year ago, two senior members of the ONLF were handed over to Ethiopian security by a Puntland minister. They came, with the permission of Puntland authorities, to discuss the murder of an elder. So basically the Puntland authorities invited these senior members and handed them over to Ethiopians right. Seems that it fits perfectly in your plans of depicting the south as stable and Puntland as corrupt, do you think the "O", would stand for that, being tricked? In an effort to resolve the recent detention of the five men, Faroole has been called for discussion( or lunch according to you ) Why are you laughing at lunch, does this pic look like they just had lunch? This is what you call proof, does he seem like the type of guy that would shake hands with a tyrant that is corrupt, they say a picture tells thousand words, you tell me what this meeting looks like. He most likely spoke to Faroole about the rumours about the arrested men. I won't dispute that. You can use Mr. Payne statement as proof, but even he would have to provide solid evidence if this matter were ever taken up by any court. Because, the changes in the story makes me suspicious. You need something called proof.
  5. What are you talking about? Do you really think Mr. Payne would sit and have lunch with someone that is as you say, is a tyrant and corrupt? Come on, like I've said to you so many times, there has been too many changes in this story for me to believe any of it, so show some proof first. If we are going to start using Mr. Payne as a source, then we will believe him on ever issue, including what he thinks of the your murderous groups.
  6. Therefore, I assure you that no body is promoting hatred for PL, but it is just that this topic happened to be particularly about the current Faroole's stooge administration, and make no mistake again:D It has nothing to do with President Faroole, because you believe everyone of Puntland's administrations were stooges. But your supports in the south that find sanctuary and aide in Eritrea are not stooges right, because Eritrea has your best interest in mind. Give me a break. You are talking about abusive dictatorial behavior, corruption, and anarchy. All those things have been happening in the south since the civil war in 1991. Like I said a million times, we know very well who has IDP camps that shelter people from all over Somalia, and who doesn't. The fact people from the south come to Puntland to live is proof who is more abusive and corrupted. Right now there is fighting in Kismayo(who is fighting? You can't blame it on foreign intervention or the stooges, the people you support can't even get along with each other even though they claim they are under the banner of Islam, it's the same since 1991)the fighting in Kismayo will soon be forgotten, in Puntland 2 deaths of government officials in a day, is a state emergency. Don't even critisize or think of commenting on Puntland. The crimes taking place right now as we speak in the south is uncomparable.
  7. Keep trying to promote your hatred for Puntland! Before President Faroole, it was General Cade and before that Col Abdullahi Yusuf. No matter who is at the head, you'll being saying the same things.
  8. The south is by far the most corrupt area in Somalia so don't even go there, we have leadership. Who is the person that is in charge over there? You must have one person that makes the final decisions. That is why in Puntland a single gernade being thrown makes headlines, in the south 10 wouldn't even be that big a deal! Remember Puntlanders aren't rushing down their to leave, it's the other way around. This story is being run by Puntlands enemies, the same people that turn a blind eye on news that is negative from their region. Divorced women being stoned and poor people having the hands cut off, but that news is a lie right?
  9. Notice how the womens faces are blurred out, but not the men receiving the zakaat. I wonder why! They obviously don't have their faces covered in the pics and that's why it is blurred out, so why hide them now. Strange P.S I thought Zakaat was given to people discretely and it wasn't a photo oppurtunity.
  10. Paragon, is not a Puntlander and has opposed all of it's administrations. You, Mr. Oodweyne are also not a Puntland and refer to it as Pirateland, so of course you are running with this story, it helps your goal. I am not denying anything, I am just saying the facts of this case has changed so much from where these guys were jailed to a picture that was proven fake and because of these changes in the story and the dishonest picture, any one thinking reasonably should question all the facts regarding this incident. Did something happen, I don't know. There has just been to many versions for me to be convinced. It's interesting that someone like you Mr. Oodweyne would be actual commenting on this topic, considering that the admin that rules the region that you hail from in NW Somalia has been accused of similar things in the past, but of course you never mention that, now do you? Ethiopia established an intelligence-gathering bureau called “Ethiopian Interest Protection Office” to pursue its opposition through its numerous agents in Hargeisa, who has been given free license to detain, rape, torture and kill any Somali from the "O" suspected of being an ONLF supporter. ! Go to "o"gadenrights.org/documents/Somaliland_Persecution.pdf (minus the quotes of course) Should we believe this to? I know what you'll say, of course not right
  11. Yeah, when I was in Somalia and even know I get family calling with stories that the sky is falling and send money quick! I mean some of the most elaborate stories to. I think they believe that Somalis in the diaspora will believe anything, so they constantly make up stuff. Anyways, yeah, you should put more effort in addressing the fighting in Kismayo right now. Because, if Puntland didn't have a government, which is your most desired wish, we'd be fighting like the south now.
  12. Again, all I have heard is hearsay and that the discrepancies in the story really show that if the story teller can't even get the facts right about who they were and whether they were sent to ethiopia or not, determines if the rest of it should be believed. Some how they weren't sure who these guys were and where they went, but finally they said they were tortured by ethiopians and died. Can I ask you. How do you know that he was tortured in Puntland and died? What is your source? What is the evidence you can provide that could be presented to a judge? Odayaal in Nairobi would could not be brought as witnesses. If you think we are just going to believe this incident, ESPECIALLY, after there were so many changes to this story, you are mistaken. I have noticed that Puntlands enemies have ran with this story.
  13. Actually there were many stories, from they were school teachers coming back from yemen who were sent to ethiopia, then they were rebels who were sent to ethiopia, then it was no they weren't sent to ethiopia but tortured to death in bosasso. Then a photo came out that was supposedly of the incident, that was proven to be fake. There has never been any concrete evidence that could stand up in a court of law. To many discrepancies and not enough facts. I agree that President Faroole really hurt the situation by his interview regarding Somalis from that area. The whole incident is a he said he said.
  14. I agree with that, but my point is that in the past Mr. Faroole didn't have that view point even when the federal president was from Puntland. He staunchly agree with Geedi even. Even if we look at it today, President Sharif is the internationally recognized leader and he makes the ultimate decision.
  15. Garoweonline Mr. Farole, who ran for Puntland president in 2005, indicated that President Muse's focus on exploration is a major cause for insecurity, adding that he can give direct advice to Muse, since he helped Muse win the Puntland presidency by having Farole supporters in parliament vote for him during the 2005 presidential elections. "Adde Muse has focused on exploration only and this is the source of insecurity," Mr. Farole said, while underscoring that the deal Muse signed with foreign companies to explore Puntland is "illegal." He stated that his resignation from the Puntland government in early 2006 is rooted in disagreements with Muse over "illegal" exploration deals. "It is right to take advantage of Somalia's resources, but the route he [President Muse] chose is absolutely wrong," Mr. Farole said. "Natural resources belong to the whole country and the country has a federal government." The ocean in every country I can think of is the jurisdiction of the Federal Government, not regional ones. It's the Federal governments that make the decisions. i.e Coast guard. I don't understand, a couple of years ago, President Faroole was a strict supporter of the Federal government and that Puntland was under it. Now that he is leader of Puntland and the Federal President Sharif has made a decision, Faroole is completely against it. I don't understand it. I think President Sharif has a very valid point and that he isn't a hypocrite. Before President Faroole was arguing for the Federal Government is to be in charge of Puntland's affairs, and now he is asking for regional states. Even after then president Abdullahi Yusuf signed deals for Puntland, Faroole was calling it illegal. I think that President Faroole shouldn't not be seeking more independence after supporting the Federal government for so many years. Now that he is at the wheel, he wants to changes, but when others were he was against it.
  16. IRIN SOMALIA: Galkayo threatened by rising insecurity Photo: Abdi S. Hassan/IRIN Students at the Galkayo centre for peace and development (file photo): Residents in Galkayo, Mudug region, are threatened by rising insecurity NAIROBI, 18 November 2009 (IRIN) - Escalating violence in the Somali town of Galkayo, Mudug region, is creating a climate of fear, which in turn has adversely affected livelihoods, residents say. Cases of killings and explosions have increased in the past six weeks, with the business community attributing the trend to the demolition of a market and subsequent displacement and desperation of dozens of small-scale traders. "The current climate of insecurity is affecting all aspects of our lives, including the ability to make a living," Fuad Abshir, a businessman in Galkayo, told IRIN. Abshir said the town's authorities had been promising to do something about the deteriorating security situation but nothing had changed. Abdiqani Hassan, another businessman, said he was now closing his shop much earlier than he used to due to insecurity. "I close three to four hours earlier than I did before, which impacts on how much business I do." Hassan said security forces had exacerbated the situation by firing indiscriminately whenever explosions or gunshots were heard. Abshir blamed the insecurity, in part, on the demolition of a market for small traders on 29 October by the authorities. "They demolished a market of hundreds of small traders without providing an alternative." He said he suspected that many of the displaced traders were on the streets and "will do anything to survive". He urged the authorities to address the problems of the traders "as a priority, before things go from bad to worse". In addition, the police had been lax in addressing the insecurity, he claimed. Abshir said businesses paid taxes "and those taxes should be used to provide services such as security to the people". Maryan Hashi, a mother of seven, was a small trader in the Suqa Bankiga market, demolished for security and health reasons. "I was not rich but I had a decent life and never asked for help from anyone to feed my children. Now I have nothing," she told IRIN. She said the market supported hundreds of families who are now destitute and urged the authorities to address the issue. Khalif Abdi Dala, an official at the Centre for Peace and Development in Galkayo, said the demolition had hit low-income families hardest. "This was a place where low-income people eked out a living," Dala said. "It is a problem and the government needs to address it." However, he said, "there is no serious security problem at the moment and what there is, is being addressed". Ahmed Ali Salad, the governor of Mudug region, said “although Galkayo has had some problems, we are dealing with it. "Galkayo is better placed than most in Somalia and our security situation is under control," he said. The security forces were redoubling their efforts. ah/mw
  17. In less then a year a governor, minister, parliamentarian, judge have all been killed. Gaalkayo for the first time had a fight that killed many and there is almost daily bombings, just last night there was one (read): Horseednet Yet he says "on land at least – in an environment of remarkable peace and stability." This guy probably hasn't been to Puntland. It's as if President Farole is oblivious to all of the chaos that is going on outside the presidents home. This year alone has seen a significant increase in violence, violence directed towards government officals that were never targeted before. Piracy is bad, but internal fighting is worse for us. I certain the President feels that if he doesn't acknowledge the attacks, they will just go away and be forgotten. Something must be done. There is no remarkable peace or stability.
  18. That's what happens when something happens in the south, you just disappear. There is no leadership there that answers to anyone, so who do you negotiate with. It's quite said that these people haven't been released.
  19. No, I am not. Are you Markhir's information minister? Boqor Bur Madow lead the way in the peace talks, many people were involved, but he was number one.
  20. That might be so, or maybe they were paying him back for when he was governor in erigavo. Who knows, I just dont think Qudhac should talk about karbaashing.
  21. caloolay muuse is all talk he was there when somaliland gave him karbaash to last him life time. Ha, I think that was Riyaale who visited for an hour and ran away, never to dare come back to lascaanod again. Maybe that's why he keeps postponing the elections, because he knows he'll have to campaign there and still has nightmares.
  22. adopt the clannish style of the Ade Muse of yester years as the latter was to the Makhiris even calling the clan as "beasts who dwell on the grass" I think to be fair, there was bad blood between the both of them way before Cadde was president. During the time, he was leaving Duudo, and asked the Makhiris for assistance and was basically told get lost (even some road blocks being set up because their was a reward issued for his arrests). Then the Honorable Bur Madow stepped in and mediated the peace deal. Something that was never forgotten. So there's always two sides to a story, but there is definitely mutual issues.

Sxb Saudi Arabia has lifted the ban on the import of livestock from entire Somalia including Somaliland. It is not just Puntland and Puntland didn't do anything to "quarantine the met specs" like you stated. BBC: Saudi Arabia lifts Somali Livestock Ban Are you serious, I agree it is not just Puntland, North West Somalia also built their own live stock with the same company. If you serious think that the saudi's had drop the ban on Somali exports this year because they felt like it, you need to start using some common sense. The biggest reason that the Saudi's dropped their ban on our livestock is because we now have a quarantine and test and vaccinate animals to ensure that they can be accepted. All the animals you see in the pics were tested and given shots. The success of the quaratines are the reason that the ban was lifted. Puntlands was built first however!
  24. This is excellent news as livestock has always been a big part of Somalia's economy. Puntland was able to build a livestock quarantine that met the specifications for export to other countries. Businesses like this will only help the suffering. Masha'Allah. With all the death and destruction news, it's nice to hear positive stuff.
