When it's Puntland that is suffering from cowardly bombings and people riot in protest to the attack --- it's a nice laughing matter to joke about. But if happened in Hargeysa it wouldn't be so funny! This is a serious matter, nothing to joke about!

Since its inception in 2000, 291 students from 35 African countries including Somaliland I got that part JB, but those other real countries are recognized by South Africa and have embassies and diplomatic relations, but you dont and they refuse to recognize you. The original article came from Mr. Saeed Mohamed who hails from your enclave, so of course in his own delusional world it is a country! NWsomaliaglobe.com Compiled by: Saeed Furaa, Freelance Journalist, Somaliland Activist. Pretoria South Africa Zack, You need to speak to someone at the ONLF and tell them to stop with the lies! They are being laughed at for saying that 1000 ethiopian soldiers were killed.

There is a serious problem taking place for new immigrants in many western countries. Their years of work and study are considered worthless which forces them to take any job they can find! Remember most have to support their family as well as family back in their own country. There is nothing wrong with a middle aged person who was uprooted from their country because of civil war working in a less then prestigious job. I in fact admire it, shows character.

I agree that if we had more women like her scattered around Somalia who were building and bettering peoples lives, we'd be in a much better place. I just think her mentality is too much us and them and we are the victims.
-
This includes the quarter million war genocide victims in Somaliland who gave their lives to fight oppression during our civil war from 1982 to 1991. I wish to reconise them as the martyrs who praved the way for the peace, freedom and stability that we (Somalilanders) enjoy today. She is annoying to be honest, as unrecognized foreign minister she referred to Puntland as maj****ia, which shows she is a qabiilist and she takes ever chance she can get to only mention and care about the victims from her family and not all the innocent people that lost their lives. I understand why she didn't last in her job as FM, not qualified to hold that position and full of too much hate.

I must admit she has definitely done wonders for her tribal enclave.

She is a mid-wife and not a doctor! People like to throw around titles.

Having said that, this story and the story of the detainees are two completely different cases which would have to be analysed according to their own conditions and evidences. I agree with you 100% and have been saying this since day one. But some on here have already rendered a verdict before an investigation even started. If all is true and a case is being brought foward, we will see all the evidence and we can then decide if the allegations have any merit.

Think what you want, but Do you actually believe YOUR rebels announcement that a freakin 1000 soldiers died???? You and I know both that 1000 did not die, This is the blantant misinformation that I was talking about and why the true story of the 5 men in Bosasso needs to be investigated. The ONLF are known to exaggerate news, it is no different with the continuously changing stories on that whole Bosasso arrest.

What about Laasqoray? -
Remember the other news concerning the 5 men that were allegedly ship to Ethiopia from Bosasso? This is why I asked for proof before, anyone with any common sense would know the news tends to be "almost certainly exaggerated." Is it fair to say that if they are capable of telling a bold face lie like this article shows, that they could do the same thing about the total truth on the 5 men in Bosasso?? Reuters Ethiopia rebels spread jitters in oil region Fri Dec 11, 2009 1:34pm GMT Email | Print | Share| Single Page[-] Text [+] * Ethiopia ****** rebel claims said to be exaggerated * Hundreds said killed in fierce fighting in oil-rich region * Rebel leader warns foreign oil companies By Barry Malone JIJIGA, Ethiopia, Dec 11 (Reuters) - A rebel group's claims to have captured seven towns and killed 1,000 soldiers in fierce fighting in Ethiopia's oil-producing ****** region are almost certainly exaggerated, foreign aid workers in the region say. Ethiopia's ****** National Liberation Front (ONLF) staged bold raids on government positions last month and aid workers say several hundred people were probably killed on both sides. But while the guerrillas are capable of causing instability in the vast Somali region, which includes the ****** and accounts for one-fifth of the country's landmass, experts say they cannot hold territory. "They attacked more than twenty places," one aid worker, who asked not to be identified, told Reuters in Jijiga, the regional capital. "But they only managed to take one town, not seven." A culture of secrecy and suspicion has surrounded the volatile ****** region ever since the ONLF overran a Chinese oilfield in 2007 and killed 74 people. Now that foreign firms including Malaysia's Petronas [PETR.UL] and Vancouver-based Africa Oil Corporation (AOI.V) are back at work in the region, some are wondering whether the investment will be worth the risk. Ethiopia is offering up to 14 more exploration permits over the next three years, and the government is keen to make sure the guerrillas do not attack again. [iD:nGEE5AN1QK] The rebels routinely warn oil companies to stay away. "The people of ****** want to have their mineral wealth developed, but not if it will be used to subjugate them further, which will be the case if the regime attains this wealth," Abdirahman Mahdi, the ONLF's foreign secretary, told Reuters. Most analysts say the group has no chance of overthrowing the government. "In the Somali region they can carry out hit-and-run assaults on government sites as well as on outposts of foreign entities, like Chinese energy explorers," Mark Schroeder, an Africa analyst with Stratfor, told Reuters. "But they cannot hold large stretches of territory." "STRUGGLE FOR SELF-DETERMINATION" Journalists are not allowed to travel in ****** without an escort and have been arrested and expelled from the country for doing so. Reuters went to the ****** with the U.S. ambassador to the U.N.'s food agencies, Ertharin Cousin. In heavily-protected Jijiga, soldiers patrol a nervous population. Foreign aid staff return to protected compounds before a 9 p.m. curfew. Cafes and bars have been attacked with grenades. The region borders chaotic Somalia. The part known as the ****** after the region's largest clan is the centre of conflict between the ONLF and government soldiers and militias. Mahdi, who rarely speaks to the media, told Reuters the rebels wanted a referendum on independence for the region's Muslim, ethnic Somali people. And he dismissed claims the ONLF was helping Somalia's Islamist al Shabaab rebels, who are waging a violent war against that country's U.N.-backed government. "The ONLF, as a matter of policy and principle, does not and will not collaborate with extremist organisations," he said. "This is a struggle for self-determination." Analysts say that, along with its potential mineral wealth, the desert region's location between Somalia and Addis Ababa makes the Ethiopian government determined to hold on to it after a long history of hostilities with its neighbour. The government says the ONLF has no popular support and is funded by rival Eritrea in an attempt to destabilise Ethiopia. Bereket Simon, the Ethiopian government's head of information, told Reuters the rebels had regrouped since 2007, but called November's attacks a "last desperate act". Locals said the rebels were believed to be planning more assaults. The rebels and the government routinely accuse each other of terrorising the local population, burning villages and murdering and raping civilians. The ONLF accuses government forces of stopping food aid and commercial supplies from reaching their strongholds, putting thousands of drought-affliced civilians at risk of starvation. Ambassador Cousin's visit was carefully managed by the United Nations and the Ethiopian government. Her convoy rarely left main roads, and she said saw no evidence of the ONLF charges. ah! hamse, you remind me of Abdiqasim. This means Galmudug leads with 3 Presidents (Abdiqasim, Aideed and Darmaan). And Honestly if YEY is counted, I insist Darmann should. No one accepted YEY as a Somali President. No one? Are you being delusional again? The world did!!! Of all the names you mention AT, show me EVIDENCE of anyone getting a reception similar to the ones of Abdullahi Yusuf in the pics I produced. You're naming guys that can't even wear the same shoes of Yey, when it comes to acceptance. Maybe not in your imaginary world he wasn't accepted but internationally he was definitely was.

African Own, you know the least about Somali history, maybe cause BC has such a small somali community. LOL, Siad Barre from Puntland.

Djibouti Army NW Somalia's army I don't think he'd have a problem setting foot in there. -
miles militis, don't listen to this guy. See he and his cronies all hate everything about Puntland; including every single leader it ever had!! They will list countless alleged problems in Puntland, but never a single positive thing about Puntland. But when it comes to their leaders, all the news is good and positive (like we liberated this and that), but never any negative news. That should tell you that their whining has nothing to do with whats right or wrong, but is a result of that sickening Somali mental disease that some are infected with.

Abtigiis & Tolka, what are you complaing about? You've been here less then 2 years and already have over 4500 posts. You're relative newbie and you have the audacity to complain? If you spent more time focusing and studying Eritrea and how they were able to liberate themselves from the Ethiopians and not on Puntlanders on Somaliaonline, maybe your region would be free. Your obession with Puntland will only eat you up inside.

Where do you deduct that we all came in at the same time? This is why you secessionists can never be heard about any of the cases you are pleading. You don't use common sense, you just say whatever comes out of your mouth without thinking. Atleast if you are going to criticize, get your facts straight!

Originally posted by Abtigiis & Tolka: While the name of the site is veritably Somaliaonline, lately nearly 80% of the discussions in the politics section is from Puntland How does that bother you? Why doesn't Puntland anger you so much? Just because people that hail from that region make threads supporting it? You become so angry you need to open a thread protesting them? I'd understand if they were opening threads constantly bashing the side that you support(sides that change like the wind), but the only thing the people that you mentioned are doing is talking is their region of Puntland. That shouldn't make you angry. Abtigiis & Tolka, you've just shown your achilles heel. Puntlanders and their constant support of their land; really really bothers you. I'm sure you are going to see a lot more of their unwavering support now that you exposed that it gets under your skin. You and your supporters seem ill-equipped to take on Puntland alone, so I suggest you look for allies in secessionists.(which I see by your quote of Ooodweyne you have already done) and more help from southerners.

Che, you never take a stance on anything. You have a deep seated hatred for Puntland, which is why you always talk bad about all of it's leaders not just Cade, you actually supported the ICU and now for the first time you started with President Farole, quoting a NW Somali site. But, when you're ask any questions you just dodge them and give these vague responses. What leaders do you support or political movements? Give me some names!! But I know you can't! -

Che, I thought you supported President Faroole. Are you reallying going to quote a NW Somali site? -
Of course Puntland won't. North West Somalia has already proven how useless that is. We are coming to the end of this decade and they were unable to get even one nation to recognize them. Since 1991, nothing has changed. Why would Puntland waste it's time? We are definitely sure, that Puntland won't bother with that nonesense.

Ciidamada Amaanka Puntland Oo Xabsiga Dhigay In Ka Badan 40-Oday Dhaqameed Oo Ku Sugnaa Qardho Warkii 09-Dec-2009 iyo Qormadii: Xafiiska Muqdisho Unbelievable, these fake reporters lie lie and lie some more. 50 young men were arrested in Qardho who were carrying knives and pistols. Everyone is praising the security forces for taking control of the situation. They got to the problem before it became bigger. But of course the secessionists with help from the their offices in "Muqdisho" will try and spin that.
