Somaliland: New Government Says Will Open Talks with SSC
Thankful replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
It seems the SSC attack has scare the regional government into trying to negotiate. It's a shame it took so long, little will change unless SSC regions are allowed to apply for high government position. -
RedSea talking about terms ending, when Riyaale added a couple years to his. Plus when will he and the alleged new guy actually meet and shake hands, (with photographic evidence to prove the meeting?)

Che, The problem with Faroole is that he spends all his time in Garowe, there is serious issues going on in Bosasso the commerical capital. He needs to be where the problem is. Leading efforts to protect the citizens there. Can you believe that people from the "South" are being rounded up like cattle stuffed in trucks to be sent out of Puntland? What is that about, you can not praise him for starting democracy when he is conducting these illegal acts. It goes against what democracy is about. He is using them as scape goats. Even international media is getting wind of this!

The SCC need to get a bunch of guys to line up and take a photo and then claim they were captured after battle. But they should be more sophisticated and make the guys look like they were actually out in the said and dust, not these clean guys in macawiso with not a mark or any dirt in their faces. I like the guy with blood on his shirt, but no cuts on his face at all, the placement of the blood right at the neck is usually from a bloody mouth or nose.

Garoweonline and it’s cheerleaders, (Allpunland, Allidamaale) are only promoting a war that could potentially destroy Puntland’s economic lifeline (Bosaso). Many think that Bosasso belongs to a certain group or that one group has rights over the city. I can say this with certainty that the city belongs to absolutely nobody, there are Somalis from every corner of the country who have businesses and own homes in the city. Every single group there has significant interests in Bosasso. Some of the biggest business suchs as hotels, are controlled by a wide variety of groups. So any war that takes place with Atam will have little effect on Bosasso, regardless how close it takes place to the city, those causing conflict will be quickly thrown out by the combined efforts of hundreds of thousands of inhabitants. Mr. Atam is a man that chooses to follow his own rules, if Ilko-Jiir that comes from this region sides with the Puntland government. It's exactly as Mr. Somalia says, either the elders needs to choose Atam or the Puntland government. last time they choose to leave Puntland when they didn't get their way, now they must choose if they want to support the government.

Bilan, I am very much aware of that, anyone knows that. The majority of Sool and Sanaag didn't want elections from my own conclusion through the low voter turnout in those area's, but that's another discussion. I was responding to those that say the SSC are fighting for tribe or accuse them of being made up of diaspora extremists. They are fighting for a united Somalia, so how can they be fighting for tribe? They are not saying they want to break away and form a seperate country that is dominated by them. The question I am presenting is why are they upset, why don't they want to particpate in your elections? Are they truely fighting for the sake of fighting? Lets be honest do you think that the fact that they are shut out from running for presidency and the unfair monopoly that is taking place has made them upset? Please don't say that same old argument "if they want to run no one is stopping them", because there is only 2 opposition groups and their leaders are from one tribe. Finally, all I am saying is, look at the make up of your government and how elections are held and then think if you were them would you be angry at the lack of representation, and want no part of that entity?
-
This could have been avoided had the NW Somalia government in Hargeysa allowed people from all regions to run as opposition for the presidency. Instead, they allowed the same two people who came from a small part of their enclave and the dominant family. The forces attacking WidhWidh have a strong argument to the international community by simply pointing to the NW Somalia government and the unfair elections that occurred that only saw a small few run for power. Calling them Diaspora extremists is what Siad Barre's regime was calling the SNM back in the day! Who claimed they were fighting for justice, just like the SSC is doing now.

Ít's obvious they dont want to be part of that kind of entity.

Originally posted by Xaji_Xunjuf: Baashe the deputy speaker of the Somaliland parliament said it all they are in effective and have no power what’s so ever I think it's Baashe the deputy speaker who is the one that has no power, and is just placed in such an insignificant position to make it seem like the NW Somalia's government is inclusive. He shouldnt be talking, since the position he holds is powerless. On another note, all militia groups start off as rag tag, look at the beginnings of the SSDF, SNM, USC etc etc!! As time goes on they got better organized!

So Cowke, you are not from Puntland?
-
The flag doesnt fool anyone Xaji, you are probably from pirate state. Even your fellow NW Somalis know you are a fraud.

Nimmanyohoow reer SL exgiration iyo kabadbadinta beenta ah baa la idinku nacay. ninka ariclekan qoray waxaa uu akhriyay waa been qaawan oo aan xitaa kastuumo qabin. yes Somaliland had a free and fair elections, but to say that only happened in South africa and SL is bull5hitter. Lets see just some of the sub saharan african states who had free and fair elections. Zambia 1991, 2002,,Ghana 1996,2008,Kenya 2002, Tanzania 2000, 2005, Namibia 2005,2009, Lesotho 2006, list goes on and on and on. So while we congratulate SL for its elections, stop this nonsnce of "we are the only country in subsahara to do this ". secondly recognition has noting to do with free elections, look at Taiwan, North Cyprus, Nagorno Karabakh, and many secetionist countries who had free and fair elecions but still no sign of recognition for decades. This has always been precisely my point, it's the exaggerations and bold face lies that are spread. It's as if they think we are living centuries ago when people didn't have access to the world. So they make up things like this. Then you have people actually posting things they know have false information in them.

Aren't you Cowke?

The problem is that people from your enclave are on to you Xaaji!

Twin blasts in Uganda capital Kampala 'kill 23 people'
Thankful replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
Al Shabaab are the prime suspects, because they said they would take their war to uganda and burundi! Plus, they have used this type of cowardly tactic in Somalia. It could be anyone, but their comments in past puts them at the top of the list of potential suspects. -
Originally posted by Jacaylbaro: In Somalia—this is still Somalia—that is something worth getting emotional about. And worth noticing too. I agree! Polling day arrives, with no serious violence, and we are still alive. Our teams (with armed guards) are dispatched to all six of Somaliland’s far-flung regions, with the diaspora members sent to the tenser ones. Of those 6 far-flung regions, the tensers ones can be reasonably assumed to be Sool and Sanaag where diaspora memebrs were sent to??? So why do some gets all fussy when I say this to?

An Open Letter to Local and Overseas Somaliland Intellectuals
Thankful replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
For instance, it is true but sad that our people drink untreated and human/animal waste contaminated water even though dirty water has been proven to be a DEADLY DRINK!…… Seriously isn't it obvious? Was this written by a second grader? Sometimes I wonder if people are just trying to compete for the most posts and don't care about the quality of the article. -
Garowe online: There can never be a Somali nation State.
Thankful replied to Chief_Aaqil's topic in Politics
Also, many are saying that Faroole wants to run for President of the TFG when his term comes up. He knows he'll then be in charge of all the funding and the international meetings you have with world leaders. -
Oh no, according to Xaaji the media is not Bias, I guess Fox News is not bias. So when I post horseednet and Garoweonline it's not bias either?? Raage is from NW Somalia, enough said!

With all due respect JB, I don't expect you to articulate this for me, but i'll ask anyways. Can you tell me what's so funny about what you quoted?

What's so funny? We are all one country, just because they are affiliated wtih the leader of another enclave we are all from Somalia and live on Somali Land.
-
I agree Nassir, I believe that throughout the lead up to the elections and after it has been clearly shown that their enclave is only in charge of the triangle. That's why they have an abundance of photo's and video's from those area's but nowhere else. These elections were a good thing for Somalia unity. If you look at the celebrations it's the same thing, the streets in the triangle have people running around, but then they have people sitting in a room supposedly in lascaanood. The fact remains, if they had control of these area's than foreign International Observers would have gone to these places, which the IRI said they did not have any, and Progressio said they relied on Somali international observers. So in final, I'll just say that these elections made it clear that they have control of the triangle and that's it. A reason for this is their discriminatory tactics, where they ensured that the opposition party leaders came from the dominant clan and excluded Sool and Sanaag, this resulted in very little to no evidence of campaigning, voting and celebrationg outside of the tribal triangle of Burco, Bebera and Hargeysa.

What? A drug problem isn't a political issue? Do you have any idea the problems it causes in crimes, health care, and other issues? Drug problems is a political issue. You have a whole generation growing up addicted. We need to take it out of our country, all major cities, Mogadishu, Bosasso, Hargeysa etc etc. Don't get me wrong though, the problem is facing us all of Soamlia not only Hargeysa. The only difference is that it is more socially accepted in NW Somalia as one of biggest businesses specializes in the trade of this horrible drug.
