Of course that, and the fact now you are saying stay of your issues.....that is ridiculous. So are you going to explain why your forces never stopped these guys until the Ethiopians did when they reached the border?
-
JB JB JB....you have like a thread with like 15 pages and the majority of posts are from you that you got from Galganews.com. Yet I am the one that talks too much? Right now according to your reports these guys landed on your enclaves shore and crossed your area...it was only when they went to the Ethiopian border that they were confronted. It's more proof that you guys have no border....because if you did they wouldnt have made it across.
-
Wow, you have posted the most news about Gagala and now you are telling people to stay out of your affairs???? Only JB would have the nerve to even mention that, especially after knowing he always comments on other people affairs.....it's obvious you can dish it, but you can't take it. Your forces have done nothing according to your own reports....not your “navy” when these allege men were at sea or your militia when they crossed to length of your enclave to get to the border. According to you reports the fight happened when they reach Ethiopian forces…..than you came in to assist looool, it’s like the weak kid getting his older brother to fight someone, and than running in and giving the person a punch! So don't take credit and most certainly don't tell people to stay out of this, when you love sticking your nose in other people’s issue.

Lol, Ethiopians vs. ONLF??? "Rag" don't need others to fight their battles.....e.g. versus the SSC in Buhoodle a few months ago and right now. I think that is what the opposite of Rag do!
-
We all know that if NW Somalia's forces and Ethiopians really killed that many fighters we would see pics. They always take advantage of a photo op. There is no evidence but JB wants us to take his gov't word on it.....yeah right.

This embarrassment for Somaliland comes weeks after Ethiopia expressed concern about a number of cabinet ministers whom Ethiopia suspects are linked to Somalia’s hard-line al-Shabab. This latest hick-up will further strain relations between Addis Ababa and the new administration in Hargeisa. People in Somaliland can not understand how such a large force could easily land inside Somaliland’s territory. This is now a major security blow for the regime This is from one of their websites!

The irony there...What happen in Sool back in October 2007? Why did Cade cry about Al Qeida? Why couldn't he just fight? Why did he promise to take back LA within a month, and still the story remains the same till today? You can't be serious.. ssdf boys are just too lame. You are not making things up, Cade nor has any Puntland government officer ever said that what happened in LA back in 2007 was the work of terrorists. We all know it was Habsaade and the fact none of your presidents have visited he city is proof! It is ironic that you would laugh at that considering the fact that your government has claimed the SSC are terrorist and used Ethiopians from their side of the border to help you, (the same thing that is happening right now), it seems there is this tendency to get help from the Ethiopians whether it is the SSC a few months ago or the men who crossed through yesterday! PasserBy I thought I made it clear that both stories are shady and that the truth is somewhere in the middle.
-
PasseryBy, Did I not say the truth is somewhere in the middle and that it is hard to verify? So I have no clue what you mean. I said it already that the news NW Somalia is coming out with is obviously false, it doesn't add up. From what NW Somalia is reporting is that. We did nothing to these guys the whole time they were at sea or when they landed and went through our enclave, it was only until they reached the border with Ethiopia and were engaged by their forces that we came in and helped out.
-
We can never verify the truth! One thing for certain is the news you are spewing is definitely not accurate. That your forces are assisting, however where not capable of stoping them in water even though they knew of their arrival, or couldnt stop them until they travelled the length of your enclave to the Ethiopian border?
-
I think the truth is somewhere in the middle, no doubt that NW Somali claims that they captured some of them with one Eritrean bill and a rusty AK, is a fabrication. Or That they will finish the operation in 2 days. Again I believe the ONLF, why would these guys all travel in such a large group, wouldn't it be wiser to split up? Knowing Ethiopia has planes?

Ethiopia rebels deny standoff with Somaliland forces 14 Sep 2010 18:50:21 GMT Source: Reuters * Somaliland says rebels en route to Ethiopia * Officials say fighters trained in Eritrea * Men alleged to be carrying Eritrean cash By Barry Malone ADDIS ABABA, September 14 (Reuters) - Ethiopia's ONLF rebel group denied on Tuesday that almost 300 of its fighters were surrounded in Somaliland after landing on the breakaway region's coast following training in Eritrea. The assertions were made by Somaliland's army and its police force on Tuesday. The officials also said the Ethiopian military had joined the battle. Ethiopian government spokespeople were unavailable for comment. ONLF sources in Ethiopia told Reuters the reports were lies. "This is untrue," a senior ONLF member said. "There are no ONLF units in Somaliland. There are no ONLF units outside the borders of Ethiopia." An ONLF-linked website also denied that ONLF fighters were in Somaliland. "There is politics and Ethiopian favour-seeking motives behind the spread of this rumour," ****** Online said. The ONLF wants independence for Ethiopia's mainly ethnic-Somali ****** region and has warned international oil and gas companies to stay away or face attack. Firms including Petronas and the Vancouver-based Africa Oil Corporation are exploring the ****** for potential oil and gas reserves. "This is the largest number of insurgents to enter the country," the commander of Somaliland's army, Nouh Ismail Tani, told Reuters. "Their destination was Ethiopia but they were using our country as a crossing point. A joint operation is going smoothly. I hope it will not take more than 3 days." Somaliland officials said the men had guns and were carrying 64 rocket launchers. Some of them had Eritrean currency and documents that proved they were trained in Eritrea, police commander Elmi Roble Furre said. Eritrea has long denied financing rebel groups in Ethiopia and Somalia. Ethiopia and Eritrea fought a 1998-2000 border war that killed at least 70,000 people, and relations between the two have been bitter since. The United Nations sanctioned Eritrea in December, accusing it of financing Somalia's Islamist al Shabaab rebels. Eritrea denies that. Ethiopian forces launched an assault against the ONLF -- who have been fighting for more than 20 years -- after a 2007 attack on an oil exploration field owned by a subsidiary of China's Sinopec Corp, Asia's biggest refinery. Somaliland and Ethiopian forces clash with ONLF rebels
Thankful replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
Why didn't the navy stop theses men at sea? Why does the Ethiopians need to get involved? Because, the border and sea are quite a distance apart and NW Somalia's forces should have stop them before they got to the border. These men traveled through the sea and your enclave to get to where they are now. Your lucky Ethiopia stopped them and now that you caught up to them you are saying we are come to help......comical -
AWDAL heavily armed Ethiopian troops enter to help Somaliland
Thankful replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
When will JB start a thread "UPDATE ON THE AWDAL FRONT"; where he continuously post articles. I wonder what makes him do it only for Puntland? -

His tactical retreat is a result of his lack of support from the local community. He is perplexed why they haven't helped him. -
Why would Faroole want to sit down with the opposition? They are too scared to even show their faces in Public because of their criminal activity. Faroole has never been more popular, he showed everyone that he means business. I have no clue why people are talking about silencing the media, as if it is Puntland that only does it. I am pretty sure we can think of so many governments in the world that have done this, I EVEN GAVE YOU EXAMPLES. It is completely understandable if the man is trying to openly get more recruits, we all heard the interview. Any government would have done it! Faroole just left for official visits to neighbouring countries, he is not worried about Atam, but just listen to Atam's last interview....it's purely religious for him. Atam has calmed Faroole's opposition critics for the time being. People from all over were starting to question his leadership, now the majority of them have rally around him. Even the heavyweight politician from that area Ilka-Jiir is fully loyal to the president.
-
Now I wonder if JB is a neutral source, I am pretty sure you will never make your gov't look bad. So there is your verison, the gunmen's version and then there is the truth. I love the picture of one dirty rifle! lol

It's interesting, because at the bottom of this article they have a section of related articles and one of those articles says this about Atam In the Galgala Mountains, Sheikh Atom is mobilizing a die-hard army of religiously motivated youth whose goal is to unite with the Islamist forces in the south. In Mogadishu and in the south and central Somalia, the forces of Hizb al-Islam and al-Shabab are more than determined to overthrow Puntland State as soon as they are done with the current bitter struggles they are engaged in with the Transitional Federal Government (TFG), Ahlu Sunna wal-Jama'a and AMISOM forces respectively. The expulsion of southern and central Somali refugees from Puntland has put Abdirahman Faroole in a political dilemma. For now, his administration remains besieged from all sides by remorseless forces. Meanwhile, al-Shabab's black flag is flying high in the mountains of Galgala despite Puntland forces claiming to have routed Sheikh Atom’s forces. Even if Atom’s were to be dispersed and defeated, one thing is clear: they will regroup and resort to guerilla warfare-the same tactics employed by the Union of Islamic Courts when Ethiopia’s occupation forces poured into Somalia. But let me guess, this isn't a great article right?

So if he is still in the Gagala region why does he need to hide his face? Why is he trying to convince people to join him and fight? He even said he left for he sake of the people...he is hiding in the mountains, scared to even show his face. Mountains are difficult terrain for even the most sophisticated military's....one thing is for sure Atam base was taken in a day and these guys that just arrived in in NW Somalia now it.
-
These guys know Puntland would be a bad choice, they see what is happening to Atam.

You see politics is a very gruelling thing, if he was in Somalia he would no doubt be flooded with request from everyone to solve their problems. He needs the peace and quiet of Yemen. Plus Zack, what is your concern about whether Abdullahi Yusuf lives in Somalia or not? Do you not support Kenyan Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim, even though he calls for Somaliland to Secede and be granted recognition?

Ngonge, Unlike other countries, most Somalis back home don't use the internet or get their news from television. Their number one source is radio, at certain times (usually evening), virtually everyone sits near their nearest radio and listens to the BBC, whether it is in the bigger cities or small villages, you can see in practically every coffee shop and home many people listening to the radio. So I agree controlling media is impossible when it comes to the internet, even repressive countries are having trouble, but in Somalia controlling the radio can do a lot more than it would anywhere else. The poor and easily manipulated might actually believe Atam's lies! You heard the man, he is desperate. The argument that we should have feel threaten by his words is nonsense because we have seen in Africa what the radio can do. Freedom of media does not trump security...people who want to cause death and destruction by overthrowing the government should not be able to voice their ideologies as a recruitment tool.
