  1. Its evidence like this picture is why the VOA made sure that the Puntland government wasn't given any chance to be interviewed. They knew that their entire article would have been discredited. A real media outlet would have let both sides comment and then let the reader decide. However the VOA wanted to make sure that their readers would only get one side of the story. No mention of the Interior Minister Ilka-Jiir who is from Eastern Sanaag and led the attack, Vice-President General Abdisamid. Evidence like this would have shown that this attack on Atam was supported by a wide variety of Puntlanders; of course the VOA doesn’t want you to know that though. I know that the VOA was closed by government of Puntland about a year ago and that they may be some hidden anger from them towards the government. However, I never expected them to write this article with comments from different sides but not even a single thing from the government that they are talking about. Very unprofessional!
  2. Is that the best you can come up with? How do I know they didn't try? Well media outlets will say something along the lines of "we tried to get hold of someone from the Puntland government but our calls were not responded to." This VOA article does not say anything at all like this! This article used only information that focused on one view point. That is why they never included the government, because it would have obviously defended its actions by showing who led the Gagala offensive and the community leaders in charge. No one is trying to influence international media, we are just saying ateast include both sides of the issue in your piece. You have to admit the article should have let the Puntland government state their position.
  3. Som@li what are you on about? Explain to me why this article never gave a Puntland government official a chance to speak? If this is the VOA why would the write something about a government without interviewing a single person from that government? I have never read an article that only gave one side of the story. So please don't try and make this garbage article out to be fair.
  4. Nassir, If this is resource driven then it would be just! Explain to me why you cannot produce one single image of Atam? Surely what he is doing is not criminal in your eyes? Please answer why you refuse to show us what he looks like!
  5. Originally posted by Gallad: Pirates are crying and attacking the balanced media. It is not the end of the world if American media thinks you are currupted pirates, which not to mention everything they said was true. Mecheris can add to that. How do you see this as balanced? Do you even know what the term means? When media is balanced they give both sides of an issue proper representation. The VOA article talks about the Puntland government but doesn't have a single person speaking on behalf of it. You call that balanced?
  6. Good response, The VOA can write some despicable pieces. They have continuously tried to spread disinformation in hopes of curtailing any positive development for Puntland. Why didn’t their article interview any Puntland government representatives? Instead they quote an individual from the ‘Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research,’ how can they get both sides of a story without interviewing the government? It seems they want to only focus on whatever side criticizes the government and paints the state in a negative light. If they did their research they would have seen that the Puntland military general that led the attack on Atam was himself from the same clan and also came up 2nd in last Puntland presidential elections. They would have mentioned that the vice-president of Puntland is not even from the so-called dominant clan. It’s sad that a news agency like the VOA that has an office based in Nairobi would be so careless and use clan names, especially considering the bloody riots that took place in Kenya’s last elections. Well done to the Puntland government with this quick response, I hope the VOA is more respectful of our internal security.
  7. Xudeedi, give it a rest! I have no clue where you and Nassir are coming from. I am pointing out clear evidence of how you and him once defended a group and within a short time changed your stance and started to act as if you never did. If the PIS have been corrupt since day one, then why did Nassir defend them less then a year ago? i If you are against journalists being arrested, then why did you defend the government when it closed the VOA? If you want to tell me the reason I am against certain people or support them, and then feel free to give your opinion. But what I am saying is not opinion but fact, which I can prove through threads. I met Ilka-Jiir and he was by far the most humble of all presidential candidates. I did not agree with him when he had pirates released from Egypt. It was wrong for him to do so, but it might have been his lack of experience. The man has proven his love for Puntland in the way he took on Atam. You bring up Cadde, when he is in the history books – you hate him, and you now say that you hate every Puntland leader and call the whole state a clan state (even though that wasn’t the case a few months ago with Faroole who you praised.) I told you, Faroole was in deep trouble and the way he handled Atam was impressive....very impressive. He showed good leadership skills. He used heavy-weight politician Ilka-Jiir to fight the battle, which neutralized the ability to make this into a clan issue -GENIUS. I try and give credit where it is due! Finally, I thought you were going to stop this clan clan clan, sub-clan garbage. This is what is bringing our country down and even in Somalia people don't talk about it that much, especially in public.
  8. Libaahe, give it a rest. I thought after the (s)elections in which the president was not even able to visit Lascaanood to campaign, I had proven my point. Xaaji, The vice pres? why didn't you bold the part where it says "Sawirada." Anyways, we are talking about the President...you know the highest leader your enclave has! Give it a rest! I would not be bragging Lascaanood was in my control if the last time my president was there he got chased out. If you have had it since 2007, why then hasn't a President visited? You know or at least he knows, exactly what will happen to him if he did.
  9. Africanown, It's like saying California claims Los Angeles. When only the U.S can really say that because they are the Federal Gov't. Puntland an Sool are all regions within Somalia. Both have government officials in the Federal government. The difference between your secessionists enclave is that you are claiming that you along with Sool are an illegal independent country. Libaahe, Lascaanood is not under your enclaves control, when your president visits there then I will admit it is.
  10. Lol, Atam is someone you can consider scared, since you refuses to show his face. The SSC has proven that your enclave is nothing to be scared of. Forget about the numerous attacks I mentioned earlier, these guys even do interviews with foreign media.
  11. Originally posted by AfricaOwn: Thankful, what's puntland role? Why are they sitting back in garowe? I thought they were also claiming Sool? Your vice President is the most pathetic for not attempting to do something. Somalia claims Sool, not Puntland. The situation cannot be solved through armed conflict. The SSC is proving this with their constant attacks. Just like Habsaade was convinced to switch sides, so did Lascaanod. There has nothing to "do" with Puntland that is why the SSC never targets Puntland. We are not viewed as the aggressors. They have specifically said on foreign media outlets they will engage in fighting until you vacate their land and that is what they are doing. Puntland position is very wise, stay clear of this internal issue and focus on the rest of state, because at the end of the day the SSC wants to be part of Somalia and so does Puntland.
  12. Xaaji, don't disrespect the dead and try and falsify the news. Do you think if these tough guys are willing to take up arms against a well funded foreign army they would have any problems with your enclave? Buhoodle vs Ethiopia - VOA Dagaallo ka dhacay Degmada Buuhoodle Dagaallo dhexmaray ciidamo Ethiopian ah iyo dadka degan Buuhoodle oo maanta dhacay ayaa la sheegaya inay ku dhinteen in kabadan 10 qof. Ali Haraare | Washington, DC Jimco, 21 May 2010 Dagaalkani oo galabnimadii maanta bilaabmay ayaa waxa uu u dhexeeyey ciidamo Ethiopian ah oo iyagu in muddo ahba joogay Buuhoodle iyo agagaarkeeda iyo dadka shacabka ah ee reer Buuhoodle . Ciidamada Ethiopiaanka ee Buhoodle yimid ayaa sida dadka deegaanku ku warramayaa waxay qabsadeen baabuurtii dadweynaha ,waxana ay isku dayeen inay hubka ka dhigaan dadka hubeysan ee Buuhoodle ku sugan. Sidoo kale waxaa la sheegayaa in dagaalku bilowday kadib makrii ay ciidamada Ethiopia xidheen xuduudda iyadoo sida dad goobjoogayaasha ah ay idaacaddan VOA u sheegeen ay ciidamada Ethiopian ay hakiyeen baabuurta gaadiidka ah ee gelaya iyo kuwa ka soo baxaya gobolka ismaamulka Soomaalida ah ee dalka Ethiopia. Wararku waxay sheegayaan in tirada dadka ku dhintay Buuhoodle ay gaadhayso in ka badan 10 qof, iyadoo ilaa haatan aan la hayn tirada dadka ku dhaawacmay. Warar kale ayaa iyaguna xaqiijiyay inay jirto askar Ethiopian ah oo dagaalkaasi ku dhimatay.
  13. OK! I am just giving you my opinion, dont take things personal. You are calling for dialogue despite the numerous attacks, in the forms of road side bombs, assasinations, deaths of (s)election workers, yesterdays attack and many more. I believe you are the only rational one among the secessionists because you are not calling for violence and are aware that even if you did, you do not have the capabilities to do so or you guys would have a long time ago.
  14. Originally posted by Xaji_Xunjuf: ^^ talks about what , the time of talking and using diplomacy is over no more gudi only guns can solve this issue. The SSC fought the Ethiopian army, which is one of Africa's biggest. Do you think they are concerned with your enclaves "guns." They are completely aware that Buhoodle has nothing to fear from your side! It looks like they are picking and choosing their battles as they wish to minimize deaths amoung their brothers in Habsaades militia. It's quite clear there is nothing your admin can do to the SSC through violence. Ngogne knows this and that's why he is calling for dialogue.

The man in the background with the black baseball cap, is PIS Head Osman Abdullahi. SO that is the head of Ashaadu La dirir? That's just an infamous nick coined by the anarchists in control of the main Somali media. The man keeps Bosaaso safe and secure. You can only learn from the recent explosions targeted at the Puntland's factors of production and installations. [/QB]Nassir, Why are you bringing this thread back? Like Xaaji just pointed out and Beer Gaal, all you are doing is showing people how you guys were die hard Ilka-Jiir and Puntland supporters. LOOK AT WHAT YOU SAID IN THIS THREAD LESS THEN A YEAR AGO, YOU DEFENDED THE PIS HEAD AND SAID THAT THE MAN KEEPS BOSASSO SAFE AND SECURE. I can never figure you out Nassir, because you post things that only make you look bad, like this thread is showing your hypocrisy or you defended Atam who is a suspected of aiding terrorists. The fact remains that you ignored countless bad articles and defended the the government and the PIS, even when they closed the VOA and other news outlets Xudeedi defended it, in your case you said nothing about the UN Monitoring report. Yet once the government attacked criminal Atam, you guys completely changed and pretended you have always been critical of the admin and started listing things that in the past you once discredited and ignored. You are one interesting person Nassir!

You needed Ethiopians to attack Buhoodle, and that is having balls? They have have made it clear that they will attack you until you leave....to this date nothing has been or can be done to them. The SSC is a tough group that is why their leaders aren't hiding their identity, you can't deny that!
  17. Of course he is; that’s JB's strategy! Whenever bad news comes out of his enclave he has to try and divert the topic to somewhere else, before it was when the ONLF crossed is enclave without incident and now it is this SSC attack. You see the SSC attacked and not only killed and injured some, but also abducted militia men as well. Problems are taking place from one end of the enclave to the other, so he needs to update people on the Gagala front in hopes of no one noticing the problems facing the triangle government. The SSC movement is growing with little regard for the NW Somalia triangle admin, who seem to be helpless in doing anything against them. Atam has never shown his face in public as he is too scared of the authorities - where as the SSC leaders in Buhoodle are constantly doing interviews (both through video and newspapers) with foreign media outlets, e.g. Al Jazeera, Canada’s - National Post. They know the NW Somalia admin in Hargeysa is incapable of doing anything to them.
  18. Originally posted by Jacaylbaro: Ladies and gentlemen, Allow me to send you my regards specially in these difficult times, I am referring to the bad economic straights the country is in, the lack of recognition from the world, and even worse; the recent invasion of Somaliland by ONLF mercenaries trained by Eritrea. What happened in the western Somaliland region of Awdal on September 10 2010 was an act of war against Somaliland by the Government of Eritrea. Blaming Eritrea is unfair, this group of ONLF freedom fighters would never have landed or crossed through without the help of the local community of Awdal. Proof of this is that after NW Somalia police were going to hand over some of the men to the Ethiopians, the people of Awdal protested and freed them. The community did not protest the fact that the force crossed through their region. You would think if they didn't agree with it, there would have been public protests against the ONLF, but instead the protest were directed against the triangle admin based in Hargeysa. Awdal is the area which the recently defeated ex-president Riyaale hails from, did we ever see the ONLF crossing through during his reign which ended a few months ago? NO....So why now? The local population look to be less enthusiastic about the unfair balance of power given to one side and discontent seems to be growing; it may be that this ONLF incident is just the tip of the iceberg. Again, why aren't the people of Awdal protesting the ONLF or the Eritreans???
  19. The international community is using Puntland as a model for how the rest of the country should run!
  20. Qudhac, don't worry the wheels have been set in motion for the NW Somalia tri-angle admins secessionists agenda to be closed; despite your boosts about democratic elections and decades of trying to gain international recognition. The international community has had a policy shift only after the Somalia's Prime Ministers resignation and other TFG failures and not when your (s)election occurred back in June. More importantly the shift includes Puntland as well, isn't that interesting? Puntland who has always maintained an open policy of being a state under Somalia and has never even put half the effort that your enclave has towards any form of recognition. Is now being given the exact same status as you have? For me it says that in the international community eyes Puntland as safe regin and an ally towards peace. Despite set back from piracy and other issues, Puntland achievements are being recognized, without its government really ever trying.
  21. Not only problems with his eyes, he post articles that are not authentic, deleting and manipulating them.
  22. Timur, just ingnore this secessionist garbage, what do they expect when they negotiate with people they claimed were kidnappers.....that's why real countries dont! Also, they claimed in the past to have captured pirates in a vast ocean but then they can't even stop 300 armed men from land on their shore.
  23. Like I said many times before, Atam has saved Faroole's admin....everything is falling nicely for the President since he took on that terrorist.
  24. Puntland has never claimed independence, the fact they have a flag means nothing, as many countries have states within them that have their own flag and motto. Puntland has made it clear they are part of Somalia, the state flags similarity to the Somalia’s one is proof as well. Nassir, you refuse to answer….if all this aggression is taking place from the hands of the Puntland admin…than why are area’s not protesting and why are they actually celebrating tournaments?
  25. Geographical ignorance has been displayed by clan chauvanist far too often on SOL. Dhahar is 280KM from where the skirmishes are taking place (Galgala). The problems in Western Bari have more effect in Bosaso than Dhahar, which is a country away. Dhahar is a peaceful city that has been developing rapidly in the past 5 years. Lol, so I guess since the distance in 280 kilometers. The people feel no attachment to each other, meaning that there is no unity. What a ridiculous point!!! It is like saying Gaalkayo was supposedly under attack but the people in Bosasso didn't care because of the distance between the two. Who cares if they are 280 KMS apart, aren't they supposedly from the made up region of Maakhir??? Why is one community holding tournaments and celebrating???
