Originally posted by NASSIR: With all due respect, do not implicate Ethiopia and the United States in this internal conflict. Australian oil companies' illicit deal with Ade Muse might have triggered old clan rivalry, but these countries you so excited to implicate in your land dispute with the inhabitants of the region is a desperate call for a one-sided assistance. The good news is that the world is slowly coming realize the root cause of the Galgala conflict. Your uncle Ade Muse lost the presidency for this main reason and his clannish nature. The likes of Faroole were catapulted into the office by their promise to resolve the issue and improve the self-declared autonomous region's political relations with the people of Sanaag and Haylaan. Yet, they followed the same old policy of disintegration and divide and rule. 1. Are you denying that Atam said he was fighting against those that are against the Islamic Creed? Are you also denying that he said that he is fighting against the PIS that take orders from the U.S and Ethiopia? You are the one that postd the recording in which he said it on the VOA! He specifically mentioned those two countries Atam VOA - Admits to Fighting U.S and Ethiopia 2. You can claim all you want that Atam defeated the previous admin, but people know very well who is too scared to show his face in public and who is hiding in the mountains. How can a man that was victorious as you allege still be in hiding over 3 years later? You cannot give us a single image of the man that you say beat the previous admin! 3. Think of what you just said there! You just admitted that Puntland holds it's leaders accountable and they can be replaced if unpopular!!! Puntland is the same place that had a person born in Sanaag come in second in the parlimentary elections and who's Vice-Pres is from Sool. You want to attack Cade Muse...be my guest..I can send you many pics of him.....can you even give me one for Atam? If I have issue's with Faroole or other politicians, I dont attack the whole state. You shouldn't either, especially one that you yourself admit holds it's leaders accountble!

Che, I completely agree. Some one should be judged by their merits and not where they come from or who they are born to. I personally think the reason Puntland has been represented in the highest positions within the TFG is because it has maintained law and order better then other regions. Most importantly it is far more organized then anywhere else and it should be rewarded! It takes in 10s of thousands of internally displaced from other parts of the country which are too violent. Puntland has earned the right to run the TFG or be Prime Minister, because of it's hard work to try and run a peaceful region within chaotic Soamlia. How do you expect to run the nation if your backyard is a mess?

Che, I have no clue what Agreement they are talking about. Also, I don't see why someone from Gedo wouldn't satisfy any such agreement (if there was one).

I don't know to be honest. But we know who owns Garoweonline, so I am pretty sure this is an indication of what Puntland's position is. We shall see! I personally think Sharif will try and reach out to Faroole in some way and offer him something to compensate for not having the PM (maybe something like the Gaalkaayo Accord). Lets be honest with the size of Puntland and the Peace it enjoys, plus the fact it doesn't hold secessionists day dreams. He needs to keep close connection to it.

Seems that the Puntland government disapproves of Sharif choice for PM. In fact they see it as a violation of a previous agreement. -------- Garoweonline Somalia Somalia: Sharif Appoints a Political Novice to PM 14 Oct 14, 2010 - 12:25:55 PM Somalia President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed appointed a new Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed almost a month after the resignation of prime minister omar Abdirashid. Radio Garowe Reports. "I appointed Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed who was a former Somali diplomat to be the prime minister of Somalia," Ahmed told reporters in his office in the capital Mogadishu. According to Somali government statement, Abdullahi worked in the Somali Embassy in Washington from 1985 to 1988. The prime Minister has trained conflict resolution and leadership skills at Erie Community College, a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, He has a master's degree in political science from SUNY-Buffalo, the statement read. Abdullahi was born in Mogadishu in 1962, he held jobs in the U.S. including municipal posts in the Buffalo District. Former Somalia's prime minister, Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke resigned on 21 last month to prevent what he called political turmoil amid an impasse with the country's president. The resignation comes amid a rift between Sharmarke and Ahmed over a new draft constitution. The two have not gotten along for months, and a vote of confidence on the prime minister had been scheduled over the past month. Independent Analyst tells Garowe online that Mr. Mohamad's appointment violates both the later and the spirit of the Djabouti peace process which stipulated that the top position are divided betwen the TFG led by Abdulahi Yusuf and the UIC [ Islamic Courts Union] which was formerly led by Sheikh Sharif among the others. Somalia has been wracked by conflict ever since President Siad Barre was ousted in 1991 and although the administration of President Ahmed has the backing of the United Nations and AU, he faces a stubborn armed resistance from the very Islamist insurgent groups he created to fight against his predecessor. Of course JB will minimize this, like he does with every other killing that takes place, so I am pretty sure he is not a neutral source. The former minister doesn't know the shooter, but JB does.....lol. So this guy had a beef with the guy from his family and killed him while he is at work? Where there are other guards present? I doubt they are from the same family, and that the minister has a motive to publicize it. Yeah guys from the same family will settle the score at the persons work. Sure! Maybe there is issue simmering between the former admin and the current one?? Doesn't some of the current supports of Silanyo admin claim that the previous one left the countries finances in poor shape? The fact it was the former finance ministers house that was targeted is too coincidental! We will see!

You can try and convince people it's over resources and make up news, but his audio tapes are concrete evidence. If Atam is fighting for resources, why does he say in his interviews he is fighting against "Ashahada ladirirka", or those against the the Islamic Creed - "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah." He believes his enemies are against Islam!!!! In his interviews his specifically names America and Ethiopia as enemies? So I ask you Nassir, do those two countries have an interest in resources? Why is he mentioning them? You are saying it is about one thing, but Atam has specifically said his is religious battle in which he is fighting against what he see's as threats to Islam. And of course...if it is about resourse's why did he have to retreat and the people aren't protecting him and more importantly why can you not provide a single image of him, what is he worried about?

Ayoub, this can go down in Somalia's history with Riyaale trying to visit Laascaanood and being chased out the same day never to return again!

Somaliland police catch Ethiopians Smuggling Alcahol to Bosaso
Thankful replied to Captain_Mike20's topic in Politics
I seems NW Somalia's security forces are on PR campaign, first it was captured weapons and explosives they claimed to get and now it is alleged alcohol. It may be that they are trying to redeem themselves for the 300 ONLF that toured their region untouched a few weeks ago. -
300 ONLF landing? Did that happen when Riyaale was in power and do you think they could do that without local help? What about the blue flag being displayed on the streets or when they made their own flag? Atam was defeated and must hide his face in fear of arrest... The SSC has no fear and this is how their leaders look, you needed Ethiopians to attack them...
-
The VP is not head of the enclave! Forget about Sool, Awdal is now giving you problems. I agree with you, it is in the archives we will see!
-
Talk is cheap!! That's what Riyaale said before he went to Lascaanood last! Forget get about anyone else....the SSC will not allow you to! But, we will keep this thread and see at the end of his term (if it is on time), if he ever went to the places you said.
-
He wasn't president, now that he has that title.....he can't. But we will see!
-
No he wont and you know it! Before it was most of Sanaag and Sool that was off limits to the pres and now it looks like Awal is as well! But we will see if he does, which I highly doubt!

That's the governments mouth piece! Taleexi, do you think the communities support Atam? If so, why did he retreat and hide?

Originally posted by Xudeedi: Thanksful qabyaalad baa qaaday, this man does not care what Atam, but more about the family he comes from. He hated Ilka Jiir as he expressed on this forum, Show me where I hated the man? You always make up stuff and never back it up. When that UN Security Council Report came out, I said the two of them needed to be investigated!! I didn't say they are guilty...thats for the courts to decide. I said that Ilka-Jiir should not have ask Egypt to release those men as Garoweonline reported. That is not hating someone because of his family! I equally said it abotu Faroole if not condemned him more! I take every event differently, the one that just passed Puntland vs. Atam, it is clear who is wrong. You refuse to answer why you cannot produce a pic of him! So you avoid that question at all costs and blame people of having different motives!
-
You cannot because he is a criminal that has ensured his image never gets out! Don't you find it strange that someone who is supposedly fighting for resource protection or other injustices hides his face? Can you explain why there are no photo's of him?
-
I never said he is not well known, in fact there is no doubt that he is very well known! Many governments have documented his actions lately! He is hiding his picture for one reason, because he is a CRIMINAL. That is what people who are not conducting lawful things do, they hide their identity in fear of being arrested. However there are many people that despite being deemed as criminals, still dont hide their faces because they feel their cause is just. Atam does not! I am not saying he is a unknown that is why we dont have his pic....I am saying he is a murderous criminal and that is why he is hiding any image of himself and only speaks on the radio!

Originally posted by Xudeedi: Thanksful is chatting nonsense as usual. First your argument was, how come Makhiri clans are not supporting Atam militia's based in Galgala. We provided you with evidence illustrated through a grand meeting and you resorted to further nonsense, "where is Atam's picture". The clan is not supporting Atam! Here is why your logic is flawed, if they are supporting his militia why was he defeated in a day? Why is he too scared to show his face in Public? More importantly, if they clan is supporting then basically you are saying they are weak since they can't ensure him security???? I said it before and it remains my point that the clans have never ever supported Atam! Again, the fact he was defeated in less than a day where he admitted he retreated saying he did it for the sake of the people is proof, the fact that he cannot show his face in public is even further proof - for you not being able to show us a single picture of him supports my basic argument that he has no clan support and protection. If they supported Atam's militia do you truly think the government would be touring the area the next day......the elders, business people of these area's are not supporting Atam. They are holding tournaments and celebrating in Bosasso raising the Puntland flag...you posted the pics of it. So don't say my argument was first the clan didn’t' support him...it always has been! You don't need to be concerned with Cade or the PIS...you need to figure out how President Faroole was able to very wisely dispatched the biggest politician from your region to take on the criminal Atam. It was Faroole that will be remember for making Atam retreat and using force to show people that Atam is all talk! -

Originally posted by Xudeedi: Puntland is not recognized in Sanaag, Western Bari and Haylaan regions and the quote you provided states that the murderers shall be handed to traditonal elders, not Puntland, thus further shoots you more in the knee. Here is one of many photo's of Puntland government officials in "Western Bari," if Puntland is not recognized, how is it possible that it's Vice pres and Interior Minister can be in these area's conducting military operations? We don't believe these made up elders declarations. What you post cannot be trusted, because we are not certain what they actually discussed, do you have audio? I bet not! There is no such tribal fighting taking place. If you look at incidents like Ufeyn, then you can call that tribal fighting. Where two groups where in sustained battled those lasted hours - where both sides used many men and weapons. These kinds of battles take place all over Somalia from the borders of Djibouti to Kenya's. This made up targeted killings most likely organized by Atam and his likes cannot be considered clan fighting. The men that committed these murders are in hiding and are unable to show their face, just like Atam. We already provided you with photographs of Puntlands Interior Minister and Vice-President (not to mention other government officials) touring areas of that you are now saying Puntland is not recognized in....then explain to me why are officials representing the State having access to these area's? Why can we provide you with photo’s of them and you are unable to show us Atam?
