xiinfaniin;762306 wrote: True say. If may I add, as tribal issues/political disputes flare up from time to time, some towns change hands. It is not surprising that our brothers are struggling to put a credible spin on this story. Can you believe the excuse's some our NW Somalia brothers come up with? The one and only issue I have is that some (not all) are the first to post news about fighting taking place in other parts of their country, but once similar fighting takes place in their enclave, all of a sudden the most absurd excuses are used. As if anyone will buy it! Now I understand these excuse's are coming from some websites that have similar agenda's. The enclave must been seen as completely peaceful and an excuse must be quickly made for any confrontations that flare up.

This is why you rarely see forgieners venture out side of the Hargeysa - Burco - Bebera triangle. Because of the instability. As usually the excuse for this confrontation is blamed on a single girl! Not the mad man, or a debt, or a gun that slipped accidently and went off. NW Somalia is no different then the rest of the country, tribal issue's flare up from time to time.

Do you really hate Somaliland and it's people that much or do you have a crush on JB, hey thankful? Let's get to the bottom of why you troll on topics about Somaliland. If you do have a crush on JB, I'm sure there are better ways to gain his attention than dissing beloved Somaliland. That will only get you the customary baaaaaaac. Lol Show some civility!

Somalia's al-Shabab militants close UN aid offices
Thankful replied to xiinfaniin's topic in Politics
However, a senior aid worker familiar with the situation in Somalia who did not wish to be named told the BBC that the situation was still getting worse............He said the UN could not admit this because it had to show the aid money was being well spent and having an impact. Strange that this unnamed senior aid worker believes this, because usually people/agencies over emphasis how dire and deadly a situation is in order to gain more funds and help. I don't think things could get worse then they were under Al Shabaab, we saw the worst drought in something like 50 years and one of the biggest exodus. Just like Mogadishu - when Al Shabaab is pushed out of an area, whether by Somalis or foreign foces - things get better! -

It is inspiring how not too long ago TFG government officials had little control over the city and could not venture outside. Alhamdulillah, now look! Of course there has been major problems, but It looks like 2011 has been a good year for our government compared to years past.

Somaliland probably will never come to terms with anyone that denies their right to self-determination, nationhood. Once you accept Somaliland has gone, then Somaliland automatically becomes your friend, until then you're enemy to the state. Ok, well I get why some of your enclave members come on Somaliaonline and bash any other governments in Somalia. You see, I understand that law and order in Somalia hurts your agenda. Why else would some on here continously post negative news everyday and then post stuff about patriotism about their enclave. I get it! It's a threat. However, what I don't understand is if you truly are another country then why are you on this site posting things about your "country." Why would you be on another countries (Somalia) website and continously update people on what going on inside your so-called "independent borders"? It would be like me looking up another countries forum and posting things everyday on Somalia's President and other news. How ridiculous would that look? So again, I ask you, if you are an independent country then why are you posting on another countries forum?

Lol, the first counry in history without recognition by anyone! Anyways, I concur with the title of the thread. Because the amount of time spent talking about each other is proof.
-
I wont accuse you of being obessed with other governments since you are not constantly posting negative news about other regions in Somalia nor will I accuse you of not helping your enclave. But for the rest on here, it seems their obsession is interesting to say the least. So basically you might feel that A_Khadar is taking a cheap shot, but just take a look at the threads and you will see who rules in the art of cheap shots. But then again, I understand where they are coming from. Because any news of positive developments or order in Somalia will hurt their secessionists cause. For instance, like I had said yesterday, the argument use to be that he TFG with Aminsom help did not control outside of villa Somalia and now they can welcome heads of state and visit different parts of the city.

If our NW Somalia brothers on SOL put more focus on addressing this serious issue, rather than constantly writing about President Sharif or Puntland President Faroole, you would have been able to help improve this unemployment problem. More so for the Hargeysa Admin, so much effort has been put in reocognition (which in 20 years has not had a single success) that other area's of society have suffered.
-
Somalia don't even respond to Xaaji tribal obession. Anyways, do you think Faroole even cares about Mudug? Because during the last elections he received no votes from the region. My hunch is that he doesn't except votes from Mudug in Jan/13 elections so he isnt addressing the issue in a proper manner. A press release means nothing, communicating in this fashion has long passed. What is going on is no joke, it's an act of war anywhere else, civilians must be protected. I hope to see a serious response.

Carafaat;760865 wrote: Dont shoot the messengers. Even on the Erigavo issue it were Somalilanders who posted it here on SOL. So you cant blame them for posting NEWS on SOL. that is the idea of having discussion on current political events. The fact that more more negative news coming from Puntland is not the fault of XX, Saalax or any else. You better spend your energy on trying to understand what is happening in your State and how to improve the situation. Really, but surely more negative news is attributed to Al Shabaab, who have even attacked civilians in your enclave. This terrorists organization is definitely the number 1 enemy in Somalia and is constantly in the news. However, somehow they receive far less "posts" from secessionists on SOL. It's simple, by focusing most on Puntland and the TFG and less on Al Shabaab. It's seems quite clear who you are more concerned with and why. The Erigavo issue was posted and spun to make it seem like unknown bandits attacked, to this day you refuse to acknowledge who exactly was resposible for the attack. Do you have a group? A leader? Or even reason the fight took place? Or will you cover it up.
-
The NW Somalia contingent on SOL are the first to shoot down unreliable websites against their enclave, but on the other hand you are the first to publish garbage sites when it comes to other parts of your country Somalia. Like I've said numerous times, our fellow countrymen's contribution to Somaliaonline is much appreciated. The day the secessionists are no longer interested, is the day I start to think they are serious about breaking away. The funny thing is that the secessionists number one focus is either posting negative news concerning Puntland or the TFG. Isn't it strange that they rarely if ever post negative news against Al Shabaab, particularly some of the terrorists organization leadership who hail from the Hargeysa, Burco, Bebera triangle? Each and everyday it is either Puntland or the TFG, but never the internationally recognized terrorists group. The secessionsts posts on this site shows us that they are more worried about other governments inside other parts of Somalia than Al Shabaab - who the Hargeysa admin has blamed numerous times for attacking innocent civilians. It's quite clear that the secessionists greatest fear is any form of governance in Somalia, this is is why they forcus on TFG and Puntland admin.

Fighting over Galkacyo's airport between the rival Clan states Continues
Thankful replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
The fact that only 10,000 Amisom is required to fight significantly larger numbers of Al Shabaab fighters tells you that there must be a large number of TFG troops who are assisting them. There is no way only 10,000 soldiers could chase Al Shabaab out, it must have been Somalis that did a lot of the work. I agree though that the TFG at this point still requires Aminsom at the moment. But you cannot deny that the TFG is progressing and becoming stronger then they were before. The TFG that had choose its President in Kenya over 5 years ago, is now welcoming a head of state and can visit different parts of Mogadishu. Again, from the days when the TFG had to meet in foreign lands until today. There has been huge progress! -
Fighting over Galkacyo's airport between the rival Clan states Continues
Thankful replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
You government in Hargeysa has reported to have taken out Al Shabaab operatives who were in a home in Burco, do you remember the raids they conducted? So if Al Shabaab is all the way in Burco according to your own government, then wouldn't they logically be more of them in Gaalkaayo? They can't win a war again Al Shabaab? Who controls the most important parts of Mogadishu? Al Shbaab usedto parade in the streets with their flag and uniformed fighters. Now they are hiding and running for their lives. Do you think a head of state like the Turkish Pm could have visited Mogadishu a few years ago and annouce he would be visiting weeks earlier? Look at the PM in Mogadishu today, slowly less and less AU troops are required to protect government offcials. Remember the TFG didn't control outside of Villa Somalia? Now look where they can go. -
Fighting over Galkacyo's airport between the rival Clan states Continues
Thankful replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Al Shabaab is fleeing they have no means to fight warplanes. They will wait until Ethiopia gets into a major city and attack them by hiding among the civilians. Al Shabaab has control of towns south of Gaalkaayo. But like I said a couple times already it may be old grievances being settled like we saw in Erigavo last week. -
Fighting over Galkacyo's airport between the rival Clan states Continues
Thankful replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
I don't think anyone really knows, it appears divided cities all over Somalia are having problems. Last week it was Erigavo. Maybe Al Shabaab is behind this, we know they are fighting for the lives in the south. Or maybe people are seeing an oppurtunity to settle old scores. But again, it is too early to really say. -

Xaaji Xunjuf;760680 wrote: ^^ Why did they attack the airport? You are the one following the news coming from your fellow country men in Gaalkaayo. Why don't you tell us why they are? Do you think it is similar to what's going in Erigavo, Somalia between the north and south of the city? Or is Al Shabaab is behind this? -
Sirdoonka Imaaraadka Carabta oo Xabsiga dhigay Boqor Cismaan Buur-madow
Thankful replied to Siciid1986's topic in Politics
I hope he didn't try to travel with a Hargeysa passport! Boqor Osman Buur-Madow is a man of peace and great influence. He has solved many conflicts before they turned into bloodshed. His influence and respect transcends the complex tribal society that is found with in Somalia's borders with Djibouti, Ethiopia and Kenya. Insha'Allah this news is false or is resolved quickly. -
That's what I thought! You won't dare show the courage to challenge JB. Have a nice day!

I can go tit for tat and post every website that talks about sexual assaults in NW Somalia, but do you have the guts to condemn this disgusting joke on such a serious topic? Or will you ignore it or change the subject? Jacaylbaro;759898 wrote: Make sure you have a metal underwear when you're coming ,, or else .. Well?

Please, I know none of you on here will never ever criticize your fellow Hargeysa-Burco-Berbera triangle brother. But you know JB's making fun of such a serious topic is quite disgusting and show's that he obviously does not take this grotesque crime serious. Who else would joke about it. As well, don't talk about male gang rapes in Puntland because according to the same website you quoted, the UN see's this as an issue facing all of Somalia including the Hargeysa admin. However, you silence in condemning JB's post speak volumes! http://www.so.undp.org/index.php/Somalia-Stories/Access-to-justice-for-all-in-Somaliland.html Sexual Assault Referral Center in Hargeisa.......In the first six months of 2009, SARC dealt with 65 cases of sexual violence against women and men.........Then it comes to widening access to justice, the SWLA provides free legal aid to poor women who are victims of gender based violence – mostly rape and domestic violence but also sexual exploitation, infanticide, child abandonment and harmful traditional practices such as genital mutilation, forced marriage and inheritance traditions. Sexual violence including child rape is a growing trend in Somaliland
