  2. I noticed that to! Lets be honest soldiers with uniforms are intimidating. They give out so many bad messages - most importantly that there is no security. Like look at the Vice President of NW Somalia in Borama, his militia are dressed as if they are ready to go to war.
  3. Originally posted by Jacaylbaro: Muqdisho welcomed him, Garowe welcomed him, Beletweyne could welcome him, Caabudwaaq can welcome him ........ that is fine. He is spending the night in Somaliland to relief the stress .... looool, spending the night in Somali Land....how ironic
  4. But he wouldn't, because there is already a UN Rep for Somalia, nor would the Ethiopian, Djibouti or Kenyan go to Somalia. It is not protocol to............ahhhh just forget it JB. Garowe welcomed him and Hargeysa to....i'm cool with that.
  5. We are all one big happy family...the UN Representitive to Somalia travelled to Garowe and Hargeysa on official visit!
  6. LOOOOL, ah JB! He is sleeping in a place that his organization views as being part Somalia. He was named UN rep to Somalia. The fact you are welcoming someone who's holds that title shows that your enclave is slowly giving up on the secessionist dream!
  7. Originally posted by Jacaylbaro: Hargeisa is the only place that Mahiga can spend the night ..... in case you didn't notice Of course! The man needs to visit all these enclaves with presidents. It makes sense to end his trip at the other end of Somalia in Hargeysa.
  8. What is Xaaji on? Of course he is going to shake hands with thousands and thousands of people, if not more - from the poor to heads of state. Which is the point, his organization only recognizes Somalia!

  10. It's obvious that Faroole's impressive defeat of Atam has revitalized his administration. More so, not only was it noticed by us, but the international Community as well. Good News!
  11. Lol notice how in the title he doesn't capitalize Somalia. The weird thing is, when I went on the UN website they don't mention they have a representative for British Somaliland. They specifically say that Augostine Mahiga is the UN's Somalia rep! This is the UN website Secretary-General names new UN envoy for Somalia

"SL committee" lol, sorry I wouldn't be part of a committee that that use's a name colonialists termed. Anyways, I gave you my own opinion on why I think the President of NW Somalia hasn't visit outside the triangle. Also my reasoning on why I believe the Vice President of the enclave went to his community first. What is your guess?
  13. Of course it is  To me it SEEMS that the reason for this is because of the protest when Riyaale lost, the 300 ONLF incident. One thing that is for certain, the President of your enclave has not gone outside the triangle - to tour his enclave - a single time for the 4 months he has been (s)elected. The vice president was however sent today back to his community under heavy security. Now the question remains why? Not many people know and can only speculate. Like I said the vice-pres was probably sent to calm and re-assure the people so the leader of NW Somalia can come to Awdal by the end of the year. The propaganda machine will be on full blast with the flags and what not and security extra tight!
  14. Usually it is the president that tours his enclave since he was the one chosen to lead. But it seems that in this situation the vice president who hails from Borama was sent back to his community. This is exactly why someone from Awdal was made vice-president is so he can travel to the region and reassure the people. I'm surpise how much visible security he needs though, seems to be a means of intimidation. Also, I am sure he is paving the way and calming the situation so Siilaanyo can come and visit before years end.
  15. I not sure if Atam was helped by NW Somalia's admin (I doubt they have the capabilities). But he must have been happy when he heard that 300 ONLF just crossed through their enclave untouched and realized he'd have an escape route.
  16. Originally posted by NGONGE: ^^ Norf naga daa dee, waxbuu qasi doona. Waxa la yedhi: After the presidential reception President Ahmed Mohammad Mahmoud (Siilaanyo) received from the sisterly nation of Djibouti, he thought it inappropriate to visit the neighbouring country of Ethiopia if a similar treatment were not to be advanced to him. Therefore, and seeing that such a reception would require detailed planning and an initial contact between the two administrations' Heads of Diplomatic Protocol, the President of Somaliland (long may he live and prosper) has decided to take advantage of the instant gratification and good well that resulted from his presidential treatment in Djibouti (as was evident in his reception back home, where all political heavyweights lined up to welcome his Presidential Excellency back). The details of his impending visit to Addis Ababa are still being ironed out and there is a slight difference of opinion about Ethiopia's suggestion of treating it as a Full State Visit (in the diplomatic sense). In his great wisdom, President Ahmed Mohammad Mahmoud (Siilaanyo) feels that a twenty-one gun salute, a military parade, honour guards or having to stand attention for the Ethiopian National Anthem might be a tad insensitive under the regional circumstances. His counterpart on the other hand, feels that Ethiopia will be committing a diplomatic faux pas should it not follow and improve on Djibouti's precedent. Talks are still ongoing. This is probably the most reasonable explanation. Thanks! It seems Djibouti's whole welcoming was the ultimate smoke and mirrors display. Despite all that their position remains the same when it comes to Somalia. I'd guess they want to put on the facade that they are loyal allies; however you know and I know that theirs little doubt they are one of the staunchest enemies against you secessionist dreams.
  17. JB you said that he was going to Djibouti and Ethiopia in a thread, what happened?
  18. Passerby good observation! Originally posted by Xaji_Xunjuf: Ethiopia and somaliland have good relations there is no beef between the two leaders Xaaji, JB posted this Somaliland President Visits Djibouoti & Ethiopia What happened to Ethiopia?
  19. Ngonge, Don't you find it suspicious there is no source? That should be a hint how credible it is! I did see it on nwsomalia.org Anywho, you are absolutely correct, I am just commenting specifically on JB!
  20. ok, I am just saying that is the exact same reason given for the attack on the former finance ministers house.
  21. Originally posted by Jacaylbaro: The whole thing was a personal issue based on jealousy .... the guy had the guts to use grenade to the other one ,,, axmaqsanaa qofku But I like how some of the media jump to a quick conclusion and label it as a terrorist attack .... (although it is a terrorist act at some point). LOOOOOL Though I am not laughing at the serious nature of this event. JB seems to have the same excuse for everything. Remember the man that shot people outside a store in Hargeysa in August and JB said he was pointing in the air and the gun accidently slipped? Or the Former Finance minister’s home was shot at and the body guard was killed, JB said it was a mere family dispute and the cousin owed him money – even though the Finance Minister himself said it was a terrorist attack. Now today he is saying that this grenade attack is also a personal attack based on jealousy! Regardless of what happened, JB will always minimize.
  22. This is a good move! I think by using all of Somalia's regions to combat Al Shabaab the country will rise again. NW Somalia is safe from them, but they need to contribute as well or risk it spreading. Puntland took on Atam! Good news.
  23. Saymo, I agree that no one group deserves to lead. We need to remember that Faroole ran in the 2005 Puntland elections and lost quite badly. He came back in 2009 and got it. Ilko-Jiir in his first run in 2009 came in second after he made it to the final round of the Puntland elections. I believe he has a good shot at winning the next one. However, I am not sure what affect his minister post under Faroole will do. 2009 candidate Nuradin Dirie turned down a minister job Faroole offered him because he knew that it would be difficult to run against someone that you work for. Puntland and NW Somalia's Hargeysa admin are only states within Somalia. They are limited right now in who can be part of the government. The only really inclusive government is the TFG. We need to focus on that first. But I completely agree Puntland needs reform, it needs to also sit down and listen to the people of Dhahar and other area's that seem to be upset. Multi-party system led by leaders that represents the whole state need to be put in place.
  24. Originally posted by AfricaOwn: Thankful, Do your job, Right-click and saved these pictures. They will be used against you at a later time when you get reckless with your talks. Really used again me? Did you read what Nassir said?? The demonstration in Dhahar district marks the public reaction to Faroole's interview with BBC/Somali, dated Nov 05. He specifically implicated the people of Dhahar in the Galgala conflict and he calls them "remnants" or remnants of the so called Islamists that had been fighting in Western Bari/Bosaaso environs. This is precisely proves my point! I have said from day one that the people supported Puntland taking Atam out, that if they didn't there would have been protests (like today) and Puntland would never have beaten him so easily without local support. You see, the people are protesting what Faroole allegedly said on the BBC on Nov 5th right? Why weren't there protest like this back in July or September or a few weeks ago when Atam was continuously push out of Puntland? Why didn't they protest when Somali Public Radio claimed that 25,000 people were uprooted? (Please don't tell me because it happened in Galgala which is far from Dhahar....because isnt it all suppose to be part of Maakhir?) So these women holding up signs for what President Faroole allegdly said on Nov 5th, never protested when Atam was defeated, or when the two criminals were executed last week in Bosasso. If the people supported Atam when he fought Puntland we would have seen protests like this!! Now if it is true that Faroole said this on Nov. 5th than the people have every right to be upset! I understand where their anger stems from. Because they have remained supportive of Puntland during it's fight against Atam and never listen to the disinformation from shady websites that spread many lies that included stuff like, two executed criminals were tortured or that homes were being burned...etc, etc. (I know what you secessionists would say, "this is a democracy")
