Good article! Our misguided secessionists are slowly coming back from their fantasy. Siilaanyo has proven this, from sending his health minister to reprsent Somalia under the TFG's health minister, 2 track policy with puntland, and the UN meeting on Somalia. At the end of the day the fact still remains, not a single country in the world supports them after 20 years.

No doubt Coca Cola will create more health related problems, from diabetes to tooth decay. But still even if this factory was not built people would be cosuming it like the rest of the world.

The leader of a secessionist movement is including his regional government in meetings that involve Somalia. This is something that has not been seen in the past. Siilaanyo is definitely an impressive individual who realizes the reality of the direction NW Somalia has been heading. This is cause for celebration.

This is in fact a very important post! The pictures tell you everything, who needs to dress up children in military uniforms and a rifle, accept criminals? There is no justification for it. Also, it proves that Al Shabaab exploits the vulnerable people in society, who are easily influenced. You think these children will grow to think violence is the only way to deal with problems? Young men and women, who do not support the admin - their numbers are smaller then the rest - but their growing and becoming more visible. Awdal has changed from an area that had practically no visible pro-unionist movements to one that has an active one led by the youth. So yes to answer your question, from what we are seeing from Siilaanyo in his first year, I doubt that he could or even would interfere with Awdal State travels to Somalia.
