Mogadishu: Police celebrate anniversary new PICS
Thankful replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
General, it's interesting how positive news backed up by pics keep all the anarchist and qabiilist quiet. You show proof of whats going on in Mogadishu yet they want to flood articles and news written by some people abroad and confidential sources. -
General Gabre Heard, who is in charge of Woyanne occupation forces in Somalia, has slapped Somalia's interim President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed twice on the face, officials say The first paragraph tells you this is not neutral ethiopian "media" outlet. Woyaane??? Come on, why are the Secessionists trying to push these lies(without any proof) so much? What is your concern with Somali politics if you you claim no longer part of the union???
-
What the Secessionist have without their recognition your lousy leaders can't even top.. Like what? In less then 4 years the TFG has embassies opened, met world leaders and spoke at the UN while having a government that includes Somalis from all over. You tribal enclave is run by one group who they appointed a leader to make it seem like it's all inclusive. You can't even include reer sool and sanaag to high position in your so called government, but claim all their land. This is why they don't even listen to your recognition cries. It's been the same since 1991, the Abdullahi Yusuf led TFG is by far your greatest fear and threat. This is why you are the ones that post the B.S slap thread and so called violence taking place.

Iranian PRESS TV: Ethiopian Gen. 'slaps Somali President'
Thankful replied to Sabriye amp co.'s topic in Politics
a Somali official, speaking on condition of anonymity, and you actually post this? the "international press" Iran lol, is quoting some imaginary person. I guess they haven't learned like the rest of the world not to believe anything coming out of Somalia. After they do the research it's always written by another tribe. President Abdullahi Yusuf has said many times that "the somali press has buried me 100s of times", but they never stop with lies after lies after lies. It seems to always be his enemies from the south and northwest that post this nonsense. Is the approach now that if you can't beat him, slander him? -
Key person in that pic is Habsaade, where he pledges alligence to determines who lascaanod is administered by. That's why your president tried to visit the city and was almost assasinated and couldn't even stay a day, the soon after Puntland let habsaade go, things changed. I know you've heard it before and you'll never stop hearing it to. He'll go to the highest bidder, you'll see. Those are the true facts!

Mogadishu security improves and taxes to be collected...
Thankful replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
The fact of the matter is, this is the most successful Gov't Somalia has ever had. So many have tried in the past and never came close to achieving what the TFG has. Those in Mogadishu fighting are the same ones that have fought each and every government that included Somalis from all regions. The courts were accepted after an enormous battle because their leadership was made up of one clan and wanted to take over the country. With all the embassies being opened and meetings with world leaders the TFG is getting strong by the day. Jendayi Frazer had gone into Somalia to visit the TFG over a year ago and Pres. Abdullahi Yusuf spoke at the UN and visited China, even though other tribal regions who were around since 1991 were boosting about Dr Frazer visiting them long after she saw the TFG. That's the biggest thing about the TFG! How much they've accomplished in such a short time, it's been less then four years and they are get more recognition then any previous Somali government post civil war. You don't hear many countries wanting to send more troops to Iraq, but in Somalia they are being announced frequently! If Mogadishu were that violent would countries want to waste money and lives there? -
It's it just me or is this guy following President Cade Muse around? Pres Cade was in Addis, Riyaale came, Pres Cade goes to Dubai and he's in Dubai. They accused him of this a few years ago, but i'm starting to believe it. Wasn't he just in American a few weeks ago?

That is if we believe the: confidential sources told Garowe Online Garowe Online always says that! Every article they write some how never has the name of the person who wrote it. Rarely if ever do they supply any pics. Farooles son in Melbourne owns it.

What hypocrites, they complain when Puntland blames them for their problems and now they go ahead and blame Puntland for theres. Just like those few foreigners killed years ago, the government blamed it on outside influences like al qaeda, yet for some reason when they made the arrests on that particular case they gave the so called killers clemency from the death penalty. What about the aid worker shot last week in hargeysa and wounded?? They said it was a pay or employment dispute? Yeah right!! Province of Somaliland has to realize that they can't be happy when they hear news about kidnappings in Puntland and other crimes (nothing close to executions). Most peaceful provinces/states in the world are surrounded by other peaceful ones. If the one next to you has problems you most likely will to.

I said it while he was still prime minister! Post -
Lander, You had a port that I believe the russians built in berbera, which is enormous for your economy! as well you had an airport, more importantly the runway. Puntland has no paved runways anywhere, Gaalkayo sort of does but was never ment to land big planes! Like I said earlier the port was never completed in Puntland. Your diaspora built hargeysa like no other place in Somalia I'll admit that. But the city still had many structures, some urban planning. Except for a half built port and the major paved road, Puntland had nothing built by previous gov'ts.
-
Yeah well most Diaspora come and helps a few months a year. I think this was the doctor from Italy that I met in Gaalkayo, he was doing a great job helping the poor, but he could only stay for a couple months, another in Bosasso from Finland was there for most of the year. They(the doctors) need organization though, where they take turns coming and going, that way there isn't any gaps and the sick can get constant care. Still what hibo is doing is commendable.
-
If it is her, it's good to see she left the internet world and is doing something positive. Gaalkayo is a city that holds two different clans and has always been tense. Even during Siad time. Somalis in Puntland need more of their diaspora to return and help build. Unlike mogadishu which was the capital and hargeysa the second capital which both were getting the focus of the government in the 60s 70s and 80s, Nothing in Puntland was ever built in the pre-civil war era(maybe the road and that's it), everything that's there was built within the last decade and a bit. Even the port if you see it upclose was only half way done. There's no ruined old buildings and what not everythings new. It's remarkable how much they built on their own in the last little while.

Somaliland frees Puntland Pows — Puntland Vows to Retake Las Anod City
Thankful replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
They don’t have to do anything; no one owes us anything. If we can't even take care of ourselves who will? The United Nations does peacekeeping not peacemaking, monitoring cease-fires and boarder disputes. There needs to be a cease-fire for them to operate efficiently. Of course East Africa being as dangerous as it is and in a constant state of war will never get the help it needs. You said they are "collapsing" and I think they are stronger then ever. Just because they refuse to recognize you doesn’t mean you have to bash them. Now like I said, the leader of Puntland went into laascaanod freely, lets see your leader of an unrecognized nation do it. -

Have you been to Africa lately? Because I've been to Nairobi, Addis, Djibouti and Somalia recently. They are a huge part of the population, I've seen many people Employeed by them in Somalia and even more lined up to receive many basic needs for survival. They are far from perfect and did a lot of things I didn't like, but millions are dependant on them and their good out weighs their bad, look at MSF pulling out and how many people are suffering can you imagine the UN leaving? If they are causing so much problems you should request that your gov't asked them to leave. See what their response is! Believe me Somalia and your enclave is in absolutely no position to complain! -
