Too many people here are misinformed and believe Puntland is finished and that it didn't exist, your own leader Riyaale said it himself! I just wanted to educate people that Puntland is alive and kicking, and will be long after this administration is gone insha’Allah.

Puntland has seen an unprecedented amount of rebuilding under this administration, people on the ground there are fully aware of this. There is no doubt that a lot of work needs to be done. Namely the enormous task of finishing off the airport; although ambitious because no one else has ever tried to build it until this administration a lot has been accomplished. Their efforts must be commended! The Puntland Livestock Quarantine is also something that insha’Allah will generate more employment for the citizens of Puntland and allow farmers the opportunity to sell more livestock; something the live stock ban is making impossible. Security is another huge factor and the administration must realize that things in Somalia have been turned upside down over the past few years and that there are more determined enemies looking to see Puntland destroyed. Bold and well planned out strategies must be developed to combat these criminals.

This is part of their obession of getting independance and they believe helps their cause. I met Col. Xiif Cali Taar in the Summer of 06, he was sitting down and even though I was a great deal younger then him he got up out of his chair and greeted me like an old friend(many people I met who had high position like him wouldn't do that). I met him a few times after that in his family hotel called Taar City in Gaalkayo. I was amazed at his lack of material possessions, even though his family was well off. Garowe, Punt land: A seminar opened at the Punt land Development and Research Centre (PDRC) . The seminar was sponsored by the Constitutional Review Committee of the Punt land. Punt land Government officials participating in the conference included, Regional Governors, city mayors and other senior government officials. The purpose of the seminar was to review the first draft of the Punt land Constitution and to begin the assessment of the Constitution. Chairman of the Constitutional Review Commitee Mr. Mohamed Hassan Mohamed spoke about the main purpose of the workshop. Mr. Mohamed also stated that regional governors, mayors and other government officials were invite to the workshop for their feedback and advise regarding the draft constitution. This workshop will conclude after 12 days, the Constitutional Review Committee will then present the draft constitution to the traditional community elders for their input.

Garacad, Puntland: The 2004 Tsunami had destructive impact on the villages and coastal communities of Puntland. From Hafun in the Bari Region to Garacad in the Mudug Region, the tsunami destroyed lives and livelihoods all long the coast of Puntland. The international aid community has been working with the Puntland Government’s Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Agency (HADMA) in providing assistance to these hard hit communities. Care International provided the funding for the construction 125 homes, a school, a hospital, a water well and fishing processing room for the victims of the 2004 Tsunami in the Garacad and Kullup communities of the Mudug Region. Puntland Government officials participating in the hand over ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transport Hon. Ali Mohamed Warsame and General Director of HAMDA. Mr. Ali Ahmed Mohamed of Care International Tsunami Project Manager also participated in hand over ceremony. The Deputy Minister thanked Care International for funding the project and HAMDA for all their hard work in assisting the communities of Puntland that where hit by the tsunami.
