As a woman who previously wore hijab before, I don't think any of the reasons you gave are the reasons why I don't wear it now. I don't think there is anything holding me back necessarily. I just think that some people base a woman's faith by the hijab she wears on her head, and I don't think that is right. I think that people symbolize respect with the hijab, as if to say someone who doesn't wear the hijab is not respected. You should still demand respect regardless of a scarf on your head and should not let men get away with it. There are many women out their with more spirituality than those who observe the technicalities of the religion, like the hijab. Then again, that is just my personal opinion!

Many people celebrate the constitution as if its the bible...but as a black person in America, I think the history of the constitution is quite f***** considering the fact that at the time it was established, slavery was still ongoing. Ok, Pet Peeve time: Why is it that all the threads in the women section is about love/relationship/marriage? Why aren't there serious topics relating to women's issue posted other than love (which could be discussed in the general area as it does not pertain to women alone)? This is what I think. There are people nowadays that are very observant on the technical part of the deen but not that spiritual aspect. I personally wouldnt not marry someone who will be an "enforcer", if you know what I mean. I don't need another father :rolleyes:
