Northerner, Your whole enjoyment of your trip depends on who your tour guide is. There are too many things to do or see in Toronto, its like a mini-NYC (and much cleanier and friendlier). So pick wisely!
  7. Well how about if we change the "safe sex" with "Saves lives", then that way, you won't be promoting premarital sex. The truth of the matter is, people are DYING. Just because it's not in Somalia yet, does not mean it won't surface one of these days. Or maybe people are walking around with the disease and they don't know it. Its in human nature to have sex. Muslims, whether you want to believe or not, practice premarital sex. They did before, then do still do now. I just feel sorry for all those wives/husbands who contract Aids because of their spouses indescretions! Its better to be safe than sorry!
  8. It took me a while to figure out what "badgeting" meant! So as the Designated spell checker, I feel inclined to correct such a big error. Badgeting= BUDGETING. *brought to you by DA Spellchecking Services*
  9. Well it seems to be a case of "Rape or be Raped". Well, it's funny how the world does a 180, ha? Nonetheless, "Welcome to the World of Aids" is the scariest thing to hear.....

You can congregate, protest, rally, form organizations for your cause, get your voice out there, and basically fight for your RIGHT. The civil rights movement was successful, wasn't it? So instead of feeling sorry for ourselves that we are such easy targets, we need to be reminding them that we are not naive about the rights of the people in that democracy....and there won't be a repeat of the Red Scare Era.
  11. Originally posted by 508: The army, traditionally speaking, the army has always been the last resource of losers, when they cant make it through college they join the army, of course the theory does not imply on all, but most… [/i] right. And I suppose all these kids should have money to go through college right? I think your post is illogic and irrelevant. Why do I say this? Because the government only encourages the young people who arent attending college to join the army, because they are the only ones who would go for the kinda salary the army has to offer. they are low-income, what did you expect? Besides, alot of people join BECAUSE the army offers free college-level education!! There are 3 guys in one of my classes who were in the army, and they are in college. Do you see congressman's kid going off to the army? It's very rare, unless they get a prestigious position right off the bat. Bro, if you want to bash the army, at least make it more convincing. Some of these kids are only 18 or so, broke as a joke, with one or two kids, and doing what they gotta do. Disclaimer: While I do not agree with the wars, I neither support nor hate the troops, but I at least think that I understand WHY they would want to joing the forces.
  12. I think paying ridiculous amount of money for higher education should be a crime! They are putting us into debt before we even get a damn J.O.B.! Oh well, in a few years, they OWN me!
  13. Honista, I'll say a prayer for your family. BTW, does your brother still have legal representation?
  14. When some1 says they are muslims, they are. Period. Shouldn't be a discussion about its validity! We don't know what's in his heart at the end of the day, and that really is for ALLAH to judge. I think the problem lies in us associating or identifying ourselves with a person because he/she happens to be somali or muslim. Then we judge them to no-ends as if they were us, and had the exact same upbringing and education, and come from the same family, etc. If I see a muslim OR Somali acting a fool on TV, I would be slightly amused (I lie, I would be EXTREMELY amused), but to say this is what he should or shouldnt be doing...is a bit much for me. Now, If that person does something good, we should be proud for him/her. PS: This is reality TV folks, and the game is in the EDITING! PSS: more somalis should audition for Real World *hehe* just kiddin'! No but really.....
  15. Originally posted by Gilgamesh: ^^^^sorry bro got to disagree with you on that one. There are some really sick people out there. In many states of the U.S a person may only be prosecuted if he uploads a video with SOUND, he is let off if it does not have recorded sound. A loop hole but not one anyone want's to fall through. Just because its law doesnt mean that some lawyer won't come along and change/amend an absurd/unconstitutional law. Trust me, if that were the case in MI, I would take it up to the supreme ct, shoot!
  16. Originally posted by NGONGE: I’m afraid there are no girls to help you today. It’s just me here now, I moved in last month. I live on the third thread on your left when you’re heading towards the Camel Milk Debate section. Nice to have made your acquaintance; I’m NGONGE, I come in peace, to infinity blah blah... Anyway, about your dilemma! My advice to you is not to do it. I’m a man and even I can spot the fake ones a mile away. It’s just not natural for a black woman to get red cheeks in hot weather. I’m sure there are countless products out there that can help you keep a clean and fresh skin without having to resort to bleach! Diana, Fair & Lovely and all those other products are what low caste Indian women use to look fair and get a high born husband. Our beautiful Somali girls don’t need to rely on chemicals to get a husband surely? When the Pen insulted the Pencil, he called him rubber face. Sareeda, If you know what's good for you...run the other way. People become DISCOLORED...and you might be susciptle to skin diseases! You do not want to use DIANA...besides, maybe you need to change yourself and how you think about your skin color, and solve the underlying problems than put chemicals to your face. Not worth it!

  18. Salafi, All in all, you are saying that I am going straight to hell because I talk to, befriend and associate with my surroundings, ha? ***runs out of the room to repent*** but wait a minute, I don't ascribe myself to salifism.....
  19. Legend, Who can resist my feminine charms?
  20. QKH, you're the next Lorraina choppit ha? I think that women overgeneralize men, that much is true. However, the door swings both ways. So I guess we're even!
  21. Recently watched Troy. Hmmmm, I really didn't want to see it, but I was dragged to it. The firt hour, i was like    only people who watched it will now. I don't want to give away too much, but the story takes a while to develop and if you've never taken classic greek mythology, you might not understand half the movie. The ending was nice..and for the overly sensitive types, you might shed a tear or two. One lesson I learned, always bring a sweater with you to the movies. Every summer, I forget how frigging the theatres could be!

  23. Originally posted by Khayr: [QB] quote: Show sympathy because they are muslims? Do you know how ridiculuous that sounds? SubhanAllah, then what you are impleying is that the Muslim is = to the Non-Muslim. Why if Allah favours the Believers over the disbelievers and forgives them for the Errors and Sins, then WHO ARE YOU to ridicule a Believer/Muslim when they sympathisize with other muslims and give them the benefit of the Doubt. [qb]Khayr, Who am I to ridicule a believer? I am a muslim who does not want to be represented in that way. I am an individual who is not afraid to point out a muslim brother/sister if he is doing something wrong (in the name of ISLAM at that). In this case, if the man was indeed a contractor (a civilian), and he was beheaded in the name of God, I will stand firmly against it. period. The "muslim" killers do not deserve my sympathy. quote: Would yuo show sympathy to a child molestor because he is muslim and did it in the name of God? -Well what if that person is your Brother or Cousin or Mother? Would you show sympathy to them or Report them to the POLICE and have them locked Up? I will have sympathy for the victim and yes, I would report them to the authorities. quote: The issue here is whether their methods of revenge and using God's name to justify their actions is right or wrong? Is that really the ISSUE or is it how we attach SENTIMENT to what is RIGHT in ISLAM. Meaning, if you like SOMETHING, then ISLAM should give room for it and if you find something DISGUSTING, HORRID, GRUESOME, Not to your Liking-then ISLAM doesn't SUPPORT IT, its HARAM! Are you saying that Islam is pro-killing civilians? Last time I checked, that's not the rules of Islamic war, buddy. To speak OPENLY about an error that a Muslim does is not good ADAB. There is a hadith in which the Rasul (salallahu caliyhe wasilm) expresses this by informing the sahaba that for every bad thing that they see in a muslim, they should replace those thoughts with a 100 good thoughts about that muslim (Correct me if I didn't get the main theme of the Hadith). What do you mean? It is not adab to tell someone they are wrong? because they are muslims? even if they are giving the rest of the muslim community a bad rep? ok, gotcha! Again, with the use of that hadith, it is too general. I don't think it is meant to be applied to all aspects of life, including wrongful murder, dear. Point is, when WHO benefits from negative muslim publicity? We sure arent. But let al-qeida and like-organizations keep doing what they are doing because they sure are giving us such a good reputation.
  24. Originally posted by Rahima: quote: And what does the suffering of muslims all over the globe have to do with this particular beheading? Condemning the beheading does not constitute me being insensitive to murders of innocent muslims. But then again, we were not discussing that, now were we? The poster (i was not referring to you) made the correlation, not I. He specified that he was anti-Arab now. I think that constitutes as a connection, don't you think ? He made no reference to the plight of the muslim victims, but rather reffered to his hate for arabs. Now, we all know that not all arabs are muslims, nor do arabs represent the majority of muslims. So I just dont see the correlation.
  25. Professor S, Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you opposed to the whole girlfriend thing couple of weeks ago?
