lool For sure you have done your homework , but what amazes me most is how you presented the drama...I always thought writing was much harder than reading and that is what i least couldn't do here given the length of your article. But any how,it is some what educating and interesting topic however i am not sure the back up of your claims. Perhaps we should hear from female side of the story.

In democracy there is always be heretic statements as its principles are against the islamic constitution. I am sure you will agree with me that democracy can not be reconciled with Islam as the way it is practised and defined nowadays unless fundenmental change is made to it in which case the there will be no need to be called '' Democracy''( May be, we come with something else). in my perception, social equality means every thing and does not necessarily be confined on programs and services but equality for different societies and cultures hence my point. That does not mean in Islam there is no equality. There is equality but on its own form not the way equality is considered by them. I hope my point is much clear , let me now. Salaams

''The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community'' Doesn`t Islam endorse this anyways?[/QB] well jazeera but what does it mean? In islam equality and respect for the individuals within a community are restricted by the Holy book and the Sunna where for them it means ''No restrictions'' Gay- communities deserve equality with in the society'' ''Nude women are practising their rights for equalty and freedom'', People are free to say whatever they want even if it is against Allah and his Messenger. Then i Ask you my dear '' Is is this THe Islam we know?''

This Jamaican guy once asked me who is the president of your country? I said we have no president simply every one is president of himself. He laughed and said that is good country you can kill any one who messes on you and no body can say a **** to you. May be a prospect he wished to have in here. Call me pessimist if you want, but i dont think somalia will ever have president in the short run while the likes of Muuse suudi yalahoow, Abdulaahi yousif, Ato, Aidid , you mention it are the presidents to be or not to be. Ilaahey umad hadii uu naco kuwooda ugu xun buu madax uga dhigaa. what a shame.. they happen to be our share of leaders

Jazeera that was very good presented and constructive urgument but i am not happy about the term ''democracy'' itself and if we take as you explained it, i think the definition given to democracy will be lost which means '' The common people, considered as the primary source of political power. ''Majority rule''. ''The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community''. This means simply that people are the power, they choose what they want how they want it whether bad or good. In our case the rule and constitution belongs to the Almighty Allah becouse He is the the creator And He knows best what is good for the humans. Islam have equivalent or should i say similra phenomenon as '' Democrcy'' which is '' Shuraa'' which Means structure of the goverment is open to the public to discuss themselves and Choose the way of governing and what to do at the times of crisis but the Constitution goes back to the Kuran. w/salaam

Well Mujahid You can think about going to India if the somali women are getting little expensive. There is men shortage there and unlike us women are required to pay their prospective husbands. Good idea, let me know

perhaps the subject matter is not clear. Ok. you Spent alot of efforts and hardship in getting your certificate after being in University or College for three long years or more for some. What can you say you have achieved then? Did you fulfill you dreams? or you are still lacking the opportunity of putting in to practice what you studied. Ok. you may be wondering what is my case? Oh well... I am still strugling with my studies and let me put this way.. i am not expected to graduate untill one year or more. The reason why i wanted to post this topic is to hear from my nomads who were there and learn from them and put into practice if Allah ever grants me the opportunity. There you go nomads, your full participation will be appreciated. thanks

'where there is somalians there is a troable'' vey beautiful statement but which has no substance in it what- so- ever. I read your comments my sister Nasra and nothing convinced me that somalis are the worst species in the universe. we have our downsides as so many other nations but definetely not the worst. Yes we are tribalists, racist but come on that can not make us worst humanbeings. Surely we have our own qualities which we are way ahead than so many other nations and most definitely we are not '' gready, selfish bunch'' selfish meaning selfish is not one of the chracteristics of the nomads may be when you come to the power gready war- lords the description fits them right. Anothet thing is that may be it is true we are illiterate people but i can't see where our illiterateness coincide with our trouble. the somali problem is not about literacy. I strongly believe that our so called elites have put us in to this situation and so now illiterates reign supreme in our nation they have no idea how to save us. May allah have mercy on us

W/salaam in short answer to your question mujahid is that ''No'' it is not compulsory to follow a madhab but as a muslim you have to look islam in the perspectives of the quran and prophet mohamed's teachings which is what these Imaams may allah have mercy on them tried their best to eloborate. Sometimes they differ and sometimes they dont and we should be follwing the one which with the most strong eveidence, not he happened to be certain imaam. That is my two cents. thanks

Will the Real Wadaado Stand Up, Please

MMA, good point bro. As far as i know (with my limited knowledge) there is no problem for some one to go to Dead person's house to give condolences and i never encountered any wadaad who is against it but it can always be isolated cases where wadaad could be bit harsh to people and extreme, but i believe most of the wadaads do good job for telling us good things and prohibiting the bad and that need acknowledgement and compliment instead of looking things from the bad perspectives. As a muslim we have a duty not generalize people even if you dont agree with the or you think one is your fierce enemy (though i dont see how that can come up, A-muslimu akhul muslim?) Any how let us always look things from the good angle coz satan always want us to go astray and triger enemity between us. -

The idea is very good. I got one of my young brother returned home after what we thought he was slipping out from of our hands. Now he is enjoying the experience, although he found the place so different and strange. But it is sad that some of the things which worry us here in the west are now easily obtainble back home. I recently read an article in of the somaliwebsites that children returned from the west get their hands on all kind of drugs and they indulge native children the habit. I think it is good idea for the authorities if there is one to make a rehabilitation projects fot these kids instead of them thrown away in to new enviroment which they dont understand nothing about it.
