Faroole should be commended for giving a time to the elders who claimed they could solve the problem without a bloodshed, while on the other hand not sounding weak leader. PIS has already been reformed and its not his big problem any more. The fact that he put it in charge of a man that takes orders from him should speak volume.

I too think its a waste of time. Clans will never agree on anything. Each want a bigger fish than the rest and its very hard to reconcile. I think he should ignore clan grievances and let the people decide by one man one vote sytem that's fair and transparent. In that way any clan that thinks they've got the numbers and influence can show at the ballot box. No doubt PIS need a big shake up than Faroole has so far provided. The fact that there is a security Services Agency that operates independently from the rest of the other security structures is mind boggling. Having said that,we need to undersatnd all these can only be achieved when normality returns and the guy in the mountains descends, and random killings stop. Unless these happens Faroole will see the importance of having one cohesive, armed unit that can be relied to defend the state. Also, one clan dominates the PIS is a myth, they consist soldiers from all the regions of Puntland.

OK what do we know from this interview conducted through Paltalk: He says they are ashabaab and Alshabab is Them. He also says that they have been in the mountains in last five years preaparing themselves for Jihad. He says before he was a lecturer at a university and then decided to start a Holy war against the Admin as they were not governing under the Shria Law. He also goes to say that he has contacted a much bigger Sheihks from Punland about announcing Jihad but they declined to wage a Jihad as they see the admin as Islamic one. He also indirectly confirms that his group are behind the killing of Puntland soldiers and claims that the population don't support them as they do not take or help the slain soldiers on the streets. He pleaded the businessmen, and the rest of the population to help them and join them as they are waging a Jihad in a very hard terrain He said that they operate between the land between Puntland Somlailand. In that interview he did not once claim he was defending a clan interest or even implied it. Now we need our friends Xudeedi, Nassir and Paragon to come out and state which side they are on. I know Paragon is against Alshabab in the South but is he also against the alshabab of Punland? What a brave new world. The ball now is on the Reer Puntland's corner. They either choose the stabilty and the peace that they always enjoyed in or the mayham and terror that engulfed in the South of the counry.

I'm surprised what is coming out of these so called Makhir's. You can not at one point say we are part and parcel of Puntland and go as far as far as nearly becoming the leader of the state, but on the other end pursuing a clanish objectives. People are being killed on daily basis in Bosaso, Bombs are going off on the streets of the city and this guy's group are being blamed on. So don't make it as if it's clan over another. Also there's a proper strategy put in place by Alshabab to take over Bosaso and its real. This guy was there since 2006 and he's been recruiting actively and preparing himself for war. The elders have tried to solve the problem by negotiation but that did not succeed as he refused to disarm. Ilkajiir wanted to take action months ago and if it wasn't Faroole insistence to give time to elders the situation would have been a done deal by now.

This pictures seem stunt rather than prisoners captured. One had even the time of the world to be dressed up well for the occasion of war ! what a joke. This elders should draw a lesson from Nabadoon Ahmed Diiriye and his Beelaha H...ye group. Alshabab used them against Abdullahi Yusuf out of clan sentiment. When Abdullahi was not there, they gave him and his group the middle finger. They are pure opportunist and know very well how to exploit clan grievances. Reer Sanaag out to be smarter than this and they should not allow the state to be threatened by people who do not have their interest at heart. Faroole and his interior minster Ilkajiir on the other hand are proving to be weak on this and shouldn't have let this issue drag this long. If there are any grievances this is not the time or the way to go about it. There are venues and ways that could be done.

Farjac looks desperate. By the way his clan are one of the richest and the most influential in Puntland politics. The finance minster, the governer of Bari region and many more are held by them. He is just upset he did not get more than two votes in the last election and mostly rejected by his own clan. He knows he has no future in Puntland so that's why he's badmouthing others. The Puntland cabinet by far are the best that has ever came along and include in their ranks some of the finest in the diaspora. There's always a room for improvment but not this way.
