I don't know why we somalis are so afraid of Ethopia. Ethopia is as vulnerable as Somalia is in terms of ethnic unrest and political upheaval. I believe we have a lot to gain from economic integration as part of Horn of Africa bloc that is equivalent to the that of the Eastern African Econmic bloc. We have very business minded population that have already proven themselves in Eastern and Souther Africa, and we can easily dominate Ethopia once they open up and adopt free trade. By then Abdullahi Yusuf became TFG president and withdrew 4000 soldiers from frontlines to Mogadishu. SNM took advantage of these and attacked Puntland positions. Puntland short on men and weapons withdrew tactically to Adhicadeye and resisted the SNM. It took another 3 years in 2007 for them to capture Lasanod and even then with the help of Xaabsade's militia. History is repeating itself today. As they started the Riyale war, they have now started Tukaraq war. And I am afraid this war will be bloody and could even go on for years. Puntland policy was always that SSC will be solved through negotiation and not the barrel of the gun. Now it is all change. SNM mistook the Puntland policy for weakness and have been on the offence since they took over Lasanod. Now it seems, Puntland lost patience and determined as never before to teach SNM a lesson.
