Af Maay iyo Afsomali are two different languages. Maay in its purest form is closer to Af Oromo Afan than it is to pure Somali. I read a research by one Maay Maay guy based in North America to that effect. So let us not mixed things together. There are also many other languages such as Markaawi, Bravanese, Mashunguli, that are spoken in the country. Calling Af Maay Somali is political statement than it is reality.
