Val- Definatly some long-term friendships were made. Not to mention a whole lot of connections for when we travel. Speaking of which I'll be expecting a welcoming committee when I come to visit USA/UK very soon lol. Buuxo- LoL no more privacy left, we know most of each others names and faces. But its been good putting a face to fellow SOLer. I have a problem of remembering who is who on facebook/SOL.

LoL a lot has changed since this thread ay. I was reading back on a few of the posts and I must say a few of us sounded very paranoid lol. How does it feel now that we know so much about each other?

I'm still baffled as to why most of the responses made here are by men. Not useful ones either. Y'all sound like old perverts. Very distasteful. Sister good luck with the procedure. I can only imagine the grief it has caused you. The beauty and rahma of Islam is that it offers flexibly. Just make sure you do your research first. Also I don't know if this is relevant to you and I'm not implying anything, but some times shedding a few pounds takes them down a lot too. Insha'Allah it all works out for the best. Wasalaam

Steam rooms. I swear by them. After a nice swim (Down here we have a few womens only pool sessions, I'm sure there could be some in your area) spend some time in the steam room and give yourself a good srcub. The steam opens up your pores making it easier to clean your face properly. Trust me the next day you'll look like a million bucks. Safe on all skin types. The rest of the week use what ever works for you. Just avoid anything harsh. All these home made face products seem like a lot of effort, but fresh is best. If your too lazy to make it yourself go to Lush, I love their fresh face masks. Hurud and Qasil do work wonders but I hate how hurud can leave you looking jaundice.

Your friend requires a sanity test, knock on the head, some tips on shukansi 101 and some bloody common sense. What your friend lacks is game. Some people are born with it, others need to try a little harder. He's concept is a joke and should be laughed at. You need to stop encouraging him and tell him to just dust himself off and get back on the horse. We do not want to lose yet another bother to insanity!

War U-dog LoL relax I only asked to see the table ware not to mention it was a JOKE! Maybe I'm not that good in the jokes department

Subxan'Allah. I often wonder how such people end up taking care of children that they obviously do not want and even worse is how long it takes for such cases to come to air. I hope such people rot in hell. They should be put in jail along side rapist and murderers. The agonies they inflict on innocent children are unimaginable and often enough they don't move on from their experiences as in the case of Genie. She's doing better then she once did but not functioning at her potential. Another huge problem is foster care. I don't for the life of me understand why one would put up their hand and volunteer to take care of kids that they go on to abuse, which is what they were already getting plenty of where they came from. They should probably stop paying people to look after such children, that would defiantly sort out the intentions of potential carers.

LoL @ U-dog. Your savy shopper, I wonder how your "loved up crib" looks like lol. You should post a pic of your new dinner ware some time.

Ina lilah wa ina ilayhi raajicun, what are we becoming. Our youth are so distructive. Even here in Australia things like that are starting to happen. Just a few weeks back 30 odd boys showed up in my area from another area armed with an array of weapons ready to attack any males. In retaliation to one of their local lads being pounced upon and left battered, bruised and stitched up. They think they are invincible. The crime rate in our community is staggering considering we are minority. Just the other day some one was telling me that these Somali boys are crying every night in jail because they are being beaten and raped by fellow inmates who have more established networks in the prisons. Maybe some of these young boys should pay a visit to those lads and see where they would like to end up. Either that or 6ft under, which ever comes 1st. What is sad is that many of the families are ignoring the many warning signs, letting their sons run wild whilst locking up their daughters. We are a community with our priorities screwed up.

LoL @ peasant. No need to get too technical. But I have to admit I was like how on earth did they remain together in a "relationship" for that long with her living on the Toilet seat?! They obviously have more then one bathroom, this would never had happened had they only had one bathroom . Underdog you hit the nail on the head, they are both definite retards. I mean she sat there for so long that her a$s actually started to grow around the seat  He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. She obviously had problems, but I'm still baffled to what took so long for help to be called. But I can see people paying $$$ for an exclusive to this story, hell I can't wait to hear more lol. Like I said so bloody WEIRD!

Ok I don't usually post random articles (that’s J.a.c.a.y.l.b.a.r.o speciality) but this one was just so weird. like WTF weird. Woman sat on toilet for two years US authorities are considering charges in the case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years and was stuck to the seat when the boyfriend finally called police. Sheriff Bryan Whipple, in Ness City, Texas, said it appeared the 35-year-old woman's skin had grown around the seat. She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by police, medical officers and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital. "We pried the toilet seat off (the toilet) with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Sheriff Whipple said. "The hospital removed it." Whipple said investigators planned to present their report to the county attorney in Ness City, Texas, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year-old boyfriend. "She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body," Sheriff Whipple said. "It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself." The boyfriend told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom. "And her reply would be, 'Maybe tomorrow'," Sheriff Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom." The boyfriend called police on February 27 to report that "there was something wrong with his girlfriend", Sheriff Whipple said, adding that he never explained why it took him two years to call. Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh. She was "somewhat disoriented," and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Sheriff Whipple said. "She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave," he said. She was reported to be in fair condition at a hospital in Wichita, about 240 kilometres south-east of Ness City. Sheriff Whipple said she refused to co-operate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators. Authorities said they did not know if she was mentally or physically disabled. Police declined to release the couple's names, but the house where authorities say the incident happened is listed in public records as the residence of Kory McFarren. No one answered his home phone number. The case has been the buzz of Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbour. "I don't think anybody can make any sense out of it," he said. Mr Ellis said he had known the woman since she was a child but that he had not seen her for at least six years. He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. At one time the woman worked for a long-term care facility, he said, but he did not know what kind of work she did there. "It really doesn't surprise me," Mr Ellis said. "What surprises me is somebody wasn't called in a bit earlier." Source

Farax Brown , Walahi that is so true. Mental illness is rampant amongst out people yet we refuse to acknowledge it. I work in the field and I'm seeing more and more of our own coming in to the system. The amount that remain undiagnosed is probably bigger though. A stigma is still surrounding mental illness and Somalis are for ever suspicious of these "gaalo" doctors. It's all about some big conspiracy or other. Or they send them back t to Africa. Just the other day I had a guy who had gone back to Somali for well over a year without medication for his schizophrenia. For us we justify it with a nick name and leave it at that. This incident is an example of how serious the implications of having a mental illness can be. The fact that this woman was ostracised from the community probably only added to the strains and stress of her unstable mental frame of mind. We need to be more understanding towards people whom suffer from these sorts of illness and support them. She should not have been allowed to fly on her own. Ilahey ha cafiyo insha’Allah. What this woman now needs is support, I hope she gets it.

Cara I couldn't have put it better my self. It seems every agenda governments want to discuss lacks professionalism and sensitivity. Although I agree it is an issue that needs to be addressed in certain communities (even our own to a degree) they need to learn how to address them. I personally am anti inbreeding and even in Islam although it is not haram it is not really encouraged.

LoL. Didn't you celebrate it on the 1st of Jan? Happy 60th bday.

About bloody time I say. I was tired with the Liberal Party opposition leader's excuses. Obviously the aplogy would be aimed at the suffering and heartach that came out of it. We need to move on with this its been a hurdle for far too long.
