Asalaamu'Calaykum, Hope this can help clear the air a bit. Question : What is the ruling on operations that prevent pregnancy? Answer : Praise be to Allaah. It is not permitted to carry out operations on men or women that will lead to complete sterility, such as cutting the vas deferens (vasectomy) in men, or removing the ovaries or womb (hysterectomy) in women. This is because cutting off all possibility of future offspring with no valid reason is haraam, as it goes against what the Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) wanted for his ummah, and is a source of shame and humiliation for the Muslims. The more the Muslims increase in number, the more this is a source of pride and status for them. Allaah has guaranteed to provide for His slaves, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): “And no living, moving creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allaah. And He knows its dweeling place and its deposit (in the uterus, grave, etc.). All is in a Clear Book.” [Hood 11:6]. So cutting off all possibility of future offspring for no good reason goes against this teaching. However, if it is necessary to carry out an operation of the kind mentioned – such as a case where the mother’s life will be in danger if she becomes pregnant, or she is suffering from a disease in her womb which it is feared could spread and kill her (such as cancer), so she has no choice but to have her womb removed – then there is nothing wrong with carrying out these operations in such cases of necessity. And Allaah knows best. Fataawaa al-Mar’ah al-Muslimah (2/974); Fataawaa li’l-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (2/975); Fataawaa al-Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ibraaheem. Asalaamu'Calaykum, OG_Moti you were not any better. I as i recall you sunk so low on your seat I thought you had actually fallen asleep on our date. But than I heard a soft whimpering sound, and when I bent over to try and make out what it was you were saying, I faintly heard you calling out for what sounded like your mother At that point you were no help to my jitters. Heck I had to put on a brave face and tell you "Honey it’s all over you can come out from under the chair now" I'll have to let you pick the movie next time ay  Jawahiir, too late, I went and saw Mona Lisa Smile the week it came out. Man total disappointment. Lost in Translation isn’t my kind of flick anyway. Sheik II is definitely on the list, I’m going to take my little cousins to see that one. Walahi I can pretty much quote every line from part one because of them. We have the video and they watch it over and over and over again. It was torture I tell you. Van Helsing was great. Shaabella- Thank you very much, you saved me the trouble of bothering with that movie. I personally hate those overly gruesome flicks, makes them hard to enjoy. BTW am I the only one in the world that hated Saving Private Ryan? First movie I actually walked out on. I loved Enemy at the Gates though. Wasalaam.

Asalaamu'Calaykum, NGONGE I absolutely loved your story. But hey, why are your onions in the fridge to begin with  . Over all very entertaining . Passing_Thru what seems to be the matter? I mean are you trying to ruin a perfectly nice posting with your really annoying whining? You and Gedo should go and settle your differences outside. It's very childish and seems to be spoiling the mood  Wasalaam.

Asalaamu'Calaykum, LOOOOOL! I've read that article before, and its pretty gross. Waraa Darman your a big time fuulay, are you scared that when you go to kiss you sweet wife good night something else might come up to spice it up. An extra tongue maybe, lool. Vomiting toads and lizards for 14 years, subxan'Allah now that is scary. Wasalaam.

Asalaamu'Calaykum, MMA LoooL man I thought you were kidding about Istunka, but you seem to have the pictures to prove it. Is there really such a tradition  I’ve never heard of it. Please explain in more detail. Men beating each other with stick, sounds a little barbaric. Wasalaam.

Asalaamu'Calaykum, This evening I went and saw Gothika with my cousin and DAMN. It wasn’t that scary, but with the tension they build up with that darn music it did give fright lol. Walahi man I jumped off my seat and halfway into the air on more than one occasion. It was an OK movie. I mean it did its job, which was to give me a fright. The way that weird girl kept popping up and all. Especially in the pool . I didn’t think the story line was all that though. Oh and the ending…I thought that was very dry. Comon whats up with the kid in the middle of the road? I don’t think I wanna see a part II. I saw Van Helsing last week and I thought that was great. More my style, I dig all that vampire gothical $hit big time. Plus its got a few of our locals in it. With a couple of our aussie boys playing leading roles . I want to see Hellboy too, has anyone seen it yet? I also watched a few DVD. Brown Suga was the bomb. So sweet. I thought the basketball player was mighty fine, especially when he sent the roses and cooked her dinner. But Dre was an alrounder. He had the personality and the character. And I finally got round to watching Barbershop one, which I loved as well. Can’t wait for part two. Has anyone seen kill bill? Whats the deal here and is it worth watchin. Was contemplating on watching part one on dvd since part two is out for us here on the big screen. Another one is Motives I saw it on the stand Friday night lakiin didn’t get it, I put next on the list thought, but when we went back the next night to return the others and all the copies were gone . so someone give me a review on that one please, and don’t ruin the storyline ok. This thread is completely dedecated to film review. Whats hot and whats not. What things you’ve seen or want to see and what the rest of the SOL think of it if they’ve already seen it. Wasalaam

Asalaamu'Calaykum, LoL interesting topic. I don't think I'm the stalking type, lakiin I do have a few favorites that i may check up on. NGONGE and Nur. Beware fella's. What makes these fella's cyberattractive? The way they express themselves. I like e-nur's trademark and NGONGE's italic sly remarks. Wasalaam.

Ngonge you only been here one month and duurba your on a hundred and something posts lol. Your boss should be notified about what you get up to in work time kiddo. Haniif I’m going to try and not jump to any conclusions about your earlier post, lakiin please for the love of God explain yourself… "please don't be pissed off when I write erotic fiction starring me having sex with myself, thank you" What do you mean by this, coz its very disturbing Wasalaam -

Did you know that dolphines and humans are the only creatures that have sex for pleasure and not just for bearing children. Over all its a fiqh issue. So i don't see why we are even having this argument. I'll try and post some fatwa's regarding this issue next time. Its getting late and i'ma hit the hay. Wasalaam.

LooooL. Like they say, kids say the darnest things. I always knew the cheekie buggers where smart. Anyway here's mine. Me and my aunt went shopping and happened to buy some lingerie. It was just the two of us because the kids were all at school and daycare. Anyway the next day at the breakfast table my little cousin talking and out of no where goes to his dad hoyoo "bra" cusuub beey soo gedee. I was hmm and continued looking for some jam in the cupboard. Anyway his dad laughs and says really? What for. The kid goes to hold up her naaso I was like jaw on the ground. Than to make things worse he gives us a demonstration. He's like before they were like this cupping his hands near the stomach (indicating saggy breasts) and now they like this cupping his hands up towards his chin (indicating nice perky ones) My aunt was on the floor laughing and I just sneaked out the room hoping he wouldn’t discuss the things I had bought. Wasalaam

^^^^^^^^LoooooooooooooooooooooL^^^^^^^^^^, Bisinka I almost fell off the chair laughing. Deep down i was thinking the same thing. But come on now "Even if he can get it up at this age it only stays up for a few nano seconds " thats a tad harsh, give the poor man some credit. I seen a lotta men who at that age are just getting started . Marrying childbrides and all. "Its like a man talking about his balls at the dinner table"...Still laugh. Your a classic kiddo LoL.

Asalaamu'Calaykum, Damn. It never really crossed my mind that men even did it, well Somali men that is. I think that’s a bit extreme though, I mean there are other methods now days. Down here the Somali women are fighting. They’re learning all the tricks of the trade. I heard of so many sisters’ taking the baby break. I think its good to a degree. Gives the mother some time to recover and raise her kid/s. A popular contraceptive seems to be this little piece of metal they place just under the skin. But I also hear it’s got its side effects as well. At the end of the day however, they can get it removed anytime, where as your uncle will lose that great asset for the rest of his life. Wasalaam

Asalaamu'Calaykum, Checkmate walal I'll have to admit I'm not too good with the Somali flicks. "walaal qalanjo ma og tahay in aan ku jeclahay" That sounds like the pick up line of your average farax. Only one quote from a Somali movies sticks in my head though... This is a very very very easy one; "Every dog has its days, and today is my day!" Wasalaam.
