Especially the older folks. They are so set in their ways you can't tell then anything. Its a scary concept though, but Alhamdulilah we believe in Allah's protection.
  3. Its true, sex sells. Men are so easy to excite. "If I'm going to pay $4 for a cup of coffee" said one male customer, "I'm not going to get served by a guy." what next...rounchy 7 11's?
  4. Masha'Allah, I'm so jealous man. I wanted to post some of my holiday pictures lakiin after seeing yours, I’ve decided against it lol. I just couldn't compete. Insha’Allah my next trip is Europe, hope I get as warm a greeting as Zu did on his. Again man MASHA”ALLAH fantastic pictures.
  5. LoL my uncle who is a teacher up there is in like awhole bunch of those pics. Let me call hoyoo to have a look hehe. I remember the convention centre coz we prayed there on eid. Must have been alot of people if it was held there damn. Lakiin im really not feeling the cause of it all. Oh well each to their own i guess
  6. Man I had some just the other day, I wonder if it is the same for the Australian franchise? Oh well I can live with out it I guess. What’s scary down here is that we now have Halal McDonald's and KFC. Although KFC apparently was bogus and certified by a group that you could probably could pay enough to sign anything. Subxan'Allah, what next. Alhamdulilah we have plenty of Muslim owned eateries. But I have to admit I was shocked to see on my recent trip to the States that many Somali's in fact do not care where they get their poultry. They like Bisinka qabso  . I was considered the freak because I’d order non-meat dishes. I once had a discussion with this woman I presumed to be a wadad (very long and thick jilbab) I was like tell me how does one justify eating xaram meet. I mean I understand if you do it and you know its xaram but your just weak. Lakiin making excuses and telling me it is in fact xalal? Anyway after my rambling she was like well to tell you the truth I buy my meat form the local supermarket!!!!!!!! I was thinking all those marteqaad’s I went to, were they xaram foods  ??!!
  7. LOOOOOOOOOL I could use one of them. On all those Brothers that don’t understand that no means NO! Hehe. Oh the possibilities...
  8. Nomadic_Princess Girl you know I'd look after you. just get you sorry behind back to town. I'm contemplating coming down to your neck of the woods. Are you willing to take me in? You going to entertain me?
  9. Hold up, what do you mean Rokko is in charge of welcoming... Mr. Zu explain yourself? I been in this godforsaken country for 21 bloody years i think i'm entitled to it. I know this joint like the back of hand lol. V you'll be in good hands. But hey I’m more then welcome to work with you Rokko, I’m a nice person. All you pompas *** Aussie haters in the UK I got only one thing to say to you: White wash babe!!!
  10. Today I went to an Islamic lecture on death... So I see reminders of the hereafter and that I to will one day be brought forward in front of Allah. I see changes that I need to make. Its so easy to go through life without remembering this. Alhamdulilah at what Allah has given me, Alhamdulilah that I am Muslim and Alhamdulilah I had the chance to attend tonight’s lecture as a reminder. If anything I’m grateful that I got the ajar of attending such a gathering... What do you see…?
  11. Salaamz girl... G'day let me 1st begin by saying you've picked the perfect location for ur globe trotting adventures. Let me also state that when you get your cute little behind down here i'll hook you and take you out. Its always nice to get visitors, and melbourne is very warm and welcoming. Be sure me and Rahima will take you for a spin isn't that right Rahima lol. I'm assuming you have family here that should make it alot easier then hotels and stuff if not I'm happy to help ya out just shout out. I'm probably getting a bit ahead of myself, but its great to have some visitors and im a damn good host!
  12. G'day sis. Glade you liked it, its something light and good for reminding us that were born Muslim to appreciate having come from a Muslim family. wasalaam
  13. salaamz... Waraa cent. last i knew you were having trouble finding wife number one, don't you think your jumping the gun a bit now lol. Men these days always getting ahead of them selves and looking for trouble.
  14. This was done in Sydney Australia, hope you guys enjoy it as much as i did. wasalaam
  15. LOOOL! This topic is wrong in so many ways. But since someone has brought it up, why can't a woman have an orgasm? And what’s wrong in a Somali woman seeking to archive and maintain a healthy sex life? I mean I’m not a man but knowing how men are in regards to their ego and all, I’d say he would get much satisfaction in know he is capable of "Hitting" that spot right. I can't believe I just said that I should wash my mouth out with soap...Women getting pleasure is a sin
  16. Khalaf...hitting it? looool poor sista, lakiin funny You don't even seem the type. Hitting it kulahaa lol. Its kinda sad to see sisters thinking with the mentality that going around the block a few times would benefit her. Pretty pathetic. It makes the brothers that have kept a clean nose unworthy, even though deen wise his is better? This is a very touchy topic, on one hand you have someone who may have drifted a bit, but has since worked very hard in cleaning up his or her act and have become respectable brothers/sisters. Its seems unfair to hold them to their past. However, on the other hand you have people who's past are a clear indication and insight to what kind of person they really are, hence choosing not to be with that person may save you a lot of strife in the future. It all boils down to how well you think you know the person, trust, and most importantly putting your trust in ALLAH! But I defiantly agree with Khalaf, if you’ve held out all these years why shouldn’t I get someone who’s done the same. But at the end of the day only Allah knows the future. But a male HQS and lovechild is reason enough to send him on his way. wasalaam
  17. If you think you have a problem, you should see the folks in Mineapolis man. I think their color blind. Forget style they lack the basic skills in coordination, 10 different colors in one outfit. I think its great to change styles, its the only way to remain trendy and on top of your game. But you need to keep a basic level of modesty and dignity (I dont know what some people were thinking with some outfits). My stay in North America has been interesting, people don't seem to care much about trend or style in the general public. People seem happy in daggy clothes and jeans. Maybe it because of the weather  In Australia people are much more open to color and unique styles, maybe its the wamer climate = good weather = happy people = expresive clothes? oh well, GO AUSSIE GO
  18. salaamz, Peaceful Mind I'm going to hold you on that offer lol. I should warn you I plan to come there next  I just arrived in Boston this afternoon and have already been taken on a shopping spree my fav past time. So what shall I see in this old state? We might go watch the basketball tomorrow (excited) and New York on sunday so many places so little time

    Somali Men

I plan to be on a successful list some day  Aaah...one day I'll make alot of money inventing something weird and wonderful. The problem is whats left to invent  this guy in the nice shirt, is he single? I have alot of great friends i could hook him up with wasalaam
  20. Hmm I guess at the end of the day I am having fun, I mean I’m hanging with my people lol. Still trying to get used to being pushed out of line by fellow Somali's but it’s been cool. People keep inviting us out and introducing me to all these "relative" this is hebel and this is heblaayo, hebel is you 4th uncle by marriage from you fathers side and heblayo was you great grand mothers neighbor back home in Somalia 20years ago (and how is she related to me again  ). I also learned through extended family that I would be burned at the stake if I was to marry any one out side my clan  one member threatened to throw hot water at me when I mentioned that I don't really care what tribe I married, mind you she had coob shaah in her hand whilst threatening me, so I dropped that subject. Its interesting being around these new people with there strong oppinions (at times a little scarey). i'm learning many new things, like who i apparently can't marry lol. Wasalaam
  21. Why didn't anyone warn me about Starbucks ! And is it just me or do a lot of the Somali's on the road don't really know how to drive. I was draged to Suuqal Karamel and decided to step out side and get something out of the car and noticed this guy trying to "sqeeze" in to the parking space behind ours. he just backing up and backing up and then bang hits the car behind him, you'd think that was indecation enough that maybe he should find another spot. but nooo, he moved forward and evidently banged the car in front (my aunt's car) so me being the responsible adult i yelled, waraa waraa ma walantahy! Its too small can't you see you just hit two cars? He calmly pulled down the passanger side window and proceded to start a conversation that i thought resembled a shukansi attempt   i was like excuse me that you doing you just hit two cars in a course of 1 min and you have the nerve to hit on me UUFF. I informed my aunt that hey some guy rear ended you in case you want to know. we went out together and he obviously went it to enought spot and calmly walked past as if nothing happened  when my aunt asked him why he would try to park some where that was clearly too small for him he mumbeled and walked off! i was fuming. Not that there was any major damage, lakiin how irrisponsible he was. But it seems all the other marks on my aunt's car were due to similar incounters lol. bunch of weirdos man. Oh and another thing, married men hitting on all the girls!!! don't even get me started on that, is it coz they think i'm new that i don't know any better akhaas.
  22. Salaamz folks, Well a lot has changed since my last post. I have since left my humble country and made my long trip to the United States of America. Flight down wasn’t all that bad. The direct flight went pretty smoothly and we arrived at LA airport in good spirit. The staff there were very friendly and I met a policeman that looked like that guy from King of Queens who gave me direction. My first recollection of this country when I stepped out side LA airport was the smell of fried food. I know this is the fattest nation but I didn’t think that I would be able to literally smell it off that. My next stop was to Denver. I’m not sure if this state is even worth mentioning, flying over the city looked like I was in the middle of no where with only a handful of houses scattered around desert terrain. It was also hot and stuffy! Thank god it was only an hour pit stop. Little did I know what headache was installed for me. To get to my final destination I had to find terminal A46. I mean how hard could that be, I’m an intelligent young lady right? Wrong I was wondering around the airport for like 15 mins following signs that said terminal A downstairs, but the trail always ends and no terminal A insight? I finally asked a staff member who looked approachable and they conveniently told me that I had to go to concord A and in order to get to concord A I had to take a train!!! This baadiyo of a place had an airport so big that you need a train to get from one point to another. But alhamdulilah it was only one stop and wasn’t all that hard. Finally my last leg was the longest. The long day and 20 hours of turbulence was starting to take affect and I was beginning to wonder why the hell I even set out on this journey in the first place. But finally it all ended and meeting the teary reception of family that I haven’t seen in 20 years reminded me why I took this long trip and made it all worth wild. The next day I was taken to The Mall of America and have been shopping ever since. Its now my 12th day I think and nothing much has really changed. I went to a few other malls oh and I was taken to the Somali “suuq†lol. Damn there are sooooo many somali’s here its amazing. On eid we prayed at the convention center and went through a stampede to get out. Other then shopping and going out for dinner and lunch I haven’t done much else, I’m not really sure what to do. And I haven’t met anyone I can relate to yet. Also whats up with people’s dress code in this state??? No sense of color coordination at all! I miss Australia!!! Section6er…. I missed your sign at the airport, and when and where does this tour begin? Raula…. Lol I know what you men about the factory looking bit. But you should have warned me about the clingy women who make you feel like you HAVE to buy something from their stall. As for the Mall of America I’ve been there a few times but I never get past the first floor. So far Gap, Ann Taylor, Aldo have sent me broke. Oh and perfumes, I almost bought the whole Perfumania store (which had a very lovely Somali lady working there J ) Xalimopatra…. Lol walahi I just booked flights yesterday to go to Boston and Canada, and read your post today. I heard it’s a pretty historical state with lots to see. Plus is it possible to drive down to New York from there? How long would it be? We might be going down to Chicago this weekend too. Do you think I’d be able to get in to see Opreah with out her makeup lol.
  23. Damn he puts the Somali men to shame. Valenteenah i agree with you. Akhas! but i'm suprised at how many children he had. Only 29? and how some the high death rate among his children. maybe he should spend more sime looking after his children in stead of just making them. I see myself as a professor as far as women and their psychology are concerned. There is no type of woman I have not handled." LOL what a joke.
  24. salaamz folks... Well mr zu, I plan to hit a few cities. The major one is MN because of family that i haven't seen in 20 years. Then NY and Canada for sure and maybe a few cities in between. mr rudy, i've already watched that movie many years ago and i'd be very much afraid if thats how my stay would be like as for the nomad count...hm i wont be in the states long, i dont think Australia could survive with out me . mr kong, my trip is a short one 6weeks only and i don't think the American government would allow me to work, i'm not planning on going with a working visa and i dont' plan on living there (what if i get shot  ). is there anything else i can do up there other then find a husband  ? I know its getting off the subject but that seems to be the talk of the town here. if someone travels then marriage is on the table, what is up with that i'm sick of people telling me, hayee maxaa meshaas ku haysa?. Somali's are so narrow minded at times  My other concern is if the folks in the states will understand my bloody accent. i mean imagine having a conversation with someone who can't pay attention to what i'm saying because there too busy commenting on my accent. Where are all my sisters? Ladies i need to conections.
