Allaah has created you from nothing, has sustained u and has raised u into a beautiful person and just like those leaves u'll wither and eventuallly die. I would like to elaborate----dont I always? The Prophet, pbuh, told a story (obviously a tru one) about a certain ppl of the past. These ppl of a certain area were very wicked and of the most wretched of ppl on the face of the earth. Allaah ordered for the destruction of these ppl. The Angels replied that there is a pious family amongst those ppl and that they should be saved b/c of their piety. Allaah said no and to start the destruction of the ppl wit the pious family. So what do we learn from this? To worhsip Allaah on ur own and to stay way from the ppl is not enough b/c a muslim must enjoin the good and forbid the evil. To be a "good" muslim but at the same time not standing up 4 what is correct is hypocritical. Such actions have brought about the destruction of ppl. So what does this have to do with the situations of the Somalis? Many of us think that "If I'm good and not bother anyone, I'm safe". Think again. Anytime we see anything wrong, we should do what we can to correct it. Something as little as good advice will suffice. Somalis let ppl get away wit anything and everything especially if its their own family/tribe members. This is one of the reasons why we are in such a situation. There is no easy or quick solution. Remember that Allaah states in the quraan that He does not change the condition of a ppl until they change themselves. If I have stated anything wrong, it is from myself and the shaytaan. I wear niqaab---face veil. Alhamdulillah there are a lot of muslims in my area but there are still those who make comments. Before I started niqaab no one said anything. Hijab is common where I live. But the second I put it on, my paradigm shifted. Suddenly ppl are impressed wit my english...too funny. Ask me silly qs like if I got married or not....as if that's the only reason why a woman would wear hijaab/niqaab. Somalis are a very complex ppl. What I hate the most is when ppl say that I am too young to cover up like the way I do. I'm 18 by the way. As if there is a certain age one must get to b4 hijab/niqaab. My reply to those ppl is only Allaah knows when my time will come and until then I will do everything I can do to earn His pleasure. I can't handle the heat of the summer in Canada sometimes, forget Hellfire. I have recently just completed a course taught by Muhammad Alshareef on Juz 'Ama and he mentioned this really funny remark that non-muslims will say to muslims be they men or women which is.........................camel jockeys. That cracked me up. But we have to remember what Allaah says: "And, whenever they(the muslims) passed by them (the kaafirs of makka), used to wink at one another in mockery" "And when they returned to their own ppl, they would return jesting" These two ayaat talk about the kaafirs mocking the believers. Allaah replies: "But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers" Allaah asks: "Are not the dibelievers paid (fully) for what they do" Subhan Allaah, who is more just than Allaah? Assalaamu Alaykum Dear sis Sulekha Did you know that it's the right of every muslim to get good/sincere advice? Alhamdulillaah, Allaah has given me the ability today to give you such advice inshaa Allaah. First things first, dating is not cool...really..... it's not. I mean no guy, no matter how great or fine as what, is worth the anger of Allaah. Nobody can punish like Allah can punish. Allah protect us from such a punishment. But you, alhamdulillah, at least have a goal which is to marry. Still, even though you may be dating for the intentions of marriage you should still be really really really careful. Imagine that on the Day of Judgement when Allaah is scaling (did I spelt that correctly?.....ah well)our bads deeds and our good deeds, and your bad deeds outweight your good deeds because of this ONE sin. Imagine your regret if your final resting place would be Hellfire instead of Jannah. If I told you that you will end up with this guy on the condition that I break both your legs,would you accept? You'd refuse of course, like any other sane person. Now I ask you, for the man you aren't willing to have your legs broken for, are you willing to possibly enter Hell for him? I think not. And may Allaah protect you on that day when there are no protectors except Him. And there is no refuge except with Him. My dear sister, a person who truly loves you will do his/her best to steer you clear from the disobedience of Allaah because the only thing that we are sure of is death. Secondly, by no means are you too young to get married. Everyone develops emotionally, mentally and physicallly at different rates. It's not as though Allaah has progammed his all slaves to be ready for marriage the second they are done their university/college and a couple years of work. In fact the reason why I think you are in this big mess is because you aren't married. We as humans have needs that need to be taken care of, be they physical, emotional or whatever. Furthermore, the Prophet's (pbuh) daughter Fatma, may Allaah be pleased with her, was married at 15 to Ali, may Allaah be pleased with him, who was also young at 21. Age aint nothing but a number. If you're old enough to be judged by Allah on the Final Day then you're old enough to marry. My advice is to ask the brother straight up what he wants. If he wants to marry then marry (if you want to) so that everything and I mean EVERYTHING is halaal for you. The Prophet, pbuh, said a person will never be a true believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself. I love Jannah for myself and I love it for you. Please think carefully of your situation. Every second we live, we are a second closer to death. I would like to first apologize for the length of this post. Been called diaper head, been mistaken 4 a nun......dont ask how. A little girl called me batman...that made me laugh. One day at my high skool (thanks Allaah I graduated) they were playin kung fu fightin on the pa system....and some kid walks by sayin 2 me "hey ninja they playin ur song". Sometimes I feel like takin a video camera wit me 2 record the drama I deal wit everyday. Make a documentary or somethin. Alhamdulillah, not complaints. everytime someone makes a wisecrack, Allaah rewards me inshaa Allaah ta'ala. So what about the rest of u muslimahs....any strange/funny experiences? If so plz share.
