  1. Ngonge - Naga daa dee ..... unless you are going to do one of the two? Gheelle T - A famous uncle I once had (IHXT), used to say that "if only people knew their history and more importantly understood its implication for them at present and future - those people would be the masters of their destiny on this earth" (obviously within the confines of the Islamic principle of qadar). Also according to him - South Somalia gained its independence on November 1949 (i don't remember exact date) but by the following April 1950 the italian administrators were back and South Somalis were actually fully independent by 1954 except by name.
  2. ^^shacabkiina ma haddey xalaal iyo xaraan u kala baxeen?
  3. ^No, my fellow Bedouin - that was not your idea - rather what it seemed to you that everyone else was saying.

  5. NASSIR;731474 wrote: Happy Independence Day SOMALIA. We should celebrate both June 26th and July 1st in good and bad times though the latter marks the date when the North and South re-united to form the Somali Republic. This much is clear - There is nothing to be really be happy about and neither are we Independent at the moment.
  6. ^make sense since we are neither independent nor united

  11. Nuune- bahaasha naga kala daa dee - wax indhaha gala sheegtaye - bal wax caqli gal ah sheeg haddana. Hello Dumaashi, as ever the graceful - if only sarcasm wasn't your thing - I would said something else. NORF&Ngonge - Don't ever watch tennis played by females
  12. Not Independence Day! It should only be celebrated when there is a union to be celebrated. Having said that - I believe the day should be commemorated albeit in moaning until its revival.

  15. Taleexi - as ever the old sage - your advice is duly noted and rest assured i am not one prone to intemperate impulse (although i can see how my assurance to our young sister might have across as me being struck with fit of anger) but i was mere re-assuring the young lady that meant no harm on my part and that i was merely advising her that her statements were coming across as bit bigoted to put it mildly. She now says - she believes otherwise and bids me farewell with the old adage of agreeing to disagree. Likewise I also bid her farewell, although I once again disagree with her that this was matter of either agreeing or disagree but rather whether to accept an advice or not.
  16. Aaliyyah - Do you in anyway see anything wrong with the way that your statements came across and are still coming across as being anti black? All i tried to do was point out to that your comments and especially your obsession with term Black as coming across as bigoted views towards the black race - whilst giving you the benefit of doubt about your intent- as I am not position to judge your intent or thought nor will ever be. If you see this just as me being argumentative and there is nothing wrong with your use of the term black in negative light - then rest assured - I leave the thread here and my advice is taken back and will not advice you in the future.
  17. Dearest Aalliyah - I have read and reread everything you posted here and I can't help but feel that you have an issue with the colour black - as it is quite clear from you writing the dorminant and key word that defines your objections are with the race black to the point that you separate somalis from being black - how else you define 'Somalis girls having half black children" to paraphrase one your comments - if i was looking at that sentence by itself i would thought you were talking about somali girls having children for white men hence the children being half black - but that is not what you meant since you don't consider Somalis to be black at least from your written comments in here. Aaliyyah;730353 wrote: But, young somalis especially boys are adopting the worse culture and that is the black/ghetto culture . so it is heart breaking... Aaliyyah;730358 wrote: If they are not in gangs, then they have half black kids without being married to them not that it would have made much difference being married to a non muslim black ghetto kid.. she goes my 18 years daughter had a son with a non-muslim black guy out of wedlock, Aaliyyah;730488 wrote: tan kale, any mother whose child gets stabbed by members of gangs, or whose daughter comes home pregnant with a black guy's baby would wish she never left Somalia to start with.. Aaliyyah;730540 wrote: ^ No hun ilma garac ah doesnt make a difference cida dhashay. Laakin dabcan way is dhaanta ilmuhu haduu muslim nina dhalay oo at least lo guuriyo lol.. Anyways, I don't know about london but clearly in toronto there are many somali girls who have half-black kids . And, that along with dhalinyaro marba meel lugu dilayo is becoming a trend... Aaliyyah;730555 wrote: Malika, you know too well that I was talking abt non muslim black men... Aaliyyah;730757 wrote: I have already explained myself that I was talking about somali girls who have kids out of wedlock with black non muslim guys.. so I see no reason for those of you who made comments that I am against a certain race...muran baad iska rabtaan.

  19. Oodweyne;730768 wrote: ^^ :D If, by-the-by, the notion of "missing" the point of an argument ( by at least a mile of a distance ) was a yearly competitive cup, one could rely on ( like so much of a day follows a night ), that, you, my dear friend, to be the "undisputed winner" of that tournament, come at the celebration time of the years's end, indeed. :D That is good one. By the same token - one would presume that this annual competition would have different categories and following that same logic - one does not have to judge hard to find what you would be the 'undisputed winner' of;- namely: the long diatribe with only one paragraph one on point and the rest being repetitive nonsensical peppered with bolded font

  22. ^^Siday u qortay baa ii diiday in aan sidaas u fahmo!! and I am yet to see that is what she meant.
  23. Walaal Khadar - 26th of June is for all Somalis and it received little attention in all of Somalia in comparison to other dates be it 1st of July or 18th May or 1st of August . so your question should have been applied to all or none at all.
  24. ^^maxaa u diiday in ay sidaas dhahdo? Aaliyyah - First of all I do not prescribe to the notion that says "This is a forum after all" and therefore one is not liable for what he or she writes therein and hence should not be taken to mean anything. That would belie the whole point of a forum; a place where ideas and views on a particular issue (in this case Somali issues) can be exchanged. Consequently, as sane people with principles underpinned by Islam (for which I consider you to be one) we have to be mindful of what we write here and how that comes across to others. Because other people who view these exchange of ideas and views would likely be influenced by them especially when the said views are coming from a respected member of the forum such as yourself. Statements that betray whole sets of people or race as beneath others and worthy of contempt purely on the bases of their colour or social stratification is pure bigotry and more importantly un-Islamic.
