i have been nice to you dear, so don't push it or i will take a position against you which i will uphold for my life time in SOL. i agree with you, but thats because people don't want to be accused of inconsistence, by ppl like you who remember everything they ever wrote. and my point still stands that it does not cause as much evil as the other emotions/actions u mentioned; does them taking a position and not admitting they are wrong make them evil, no not necessarily, ppl change views all the time and providing them have a reason behind that change, all power to them. now run along, before ur bubble burst
-
okay i agree on one level; that yes people are ruled by a desire to be "right" as demostrated in SOL little fights; the reason is not as simple as; Because an Ego can’t face the consequences of having been wrong. but i don't know the complicated answer to it either. however i think its is wrong to assume that actions motivated by the desire to be right cause as much evil or as much conflict as ones moivated by hatred or greed. the desire to be right is more likely to cause problems between smaller number of people rather than creating major conflicts between people, it may lead to a verbal outburst, but thats about it. Most people just agree to disagree and assume that they are right while the other one is stup*id and does not know what the hell they are talking about. anyway there are my two cents; NB i spoke in general terms rather than directly at you and your ideas so your ego should be save

i vote for the philosophers kings/the Liberals; there seems to be about three or four of them runing around. i can't stand close minded ppl, and ppl who are afraid to think beyond the box’s they assign everyone to!!

that you will punished for aborting a child if your a believer (regardless of what u call your religion) and secondly that abortion is murder, as you are killing a soul, and thirdly and again if your a believer that the child would question why you aborted them. it is not a correct interpertation from a islamic point of view. But morally it makes sense now do u get the point!!

Originally posted by ThePoint: The issue of lost youth definitely is a serious problem;- i hope to GOD you guys don't believe in the things you type. can someone define lost; what do you mean by lost, UNislamic, or lost tradition like we don't walk around in diracs and dacs. or Lost as in following the western ways of sex, hiphop and drugs which is not lost as you know what you are doing. on a serious note, most of the so called "lost ppl" in wester countries are those who come to the countries at an old age and could not believe how much freedom they have or how many new things there are, and once they get into it, they can't get out. the young ones, have time to grow out and learn better things in live, so by the time they are 20, they have been there, done that worn the shirt and moved on. peace out

maaya, only when it suits me or benefits me to be somali , which is not recently. But regardless my question still stands

^^i have not searched the verious universities and other study institutions, nor have i drawn a follow up plan of what happened to the one's who completed their studying 5-6yrs ago. WHY because frankly i don't care where they all are, there is nothing that idenfies them closer to me than anyone else, unless their could show me from my family tree (not pass third adeer, thats not relative. why would you go through all that trouble just to find a somali guy? Especial as a female, when other guys make all the trouble to find you!!

My point is, reading and writing well is extremely important if you want to get ahead in life. There's nothing shameful about learning (at any age). At last, something we agree on, Assumptions are the mother of all ____ups. and cyber world does not offend nor please me. It is just words on screen here, so say that which please you adeer p.s. there is nothing wrong with self-raised kids, they are at times better than the one's who crew up with extended families, and they figure out early to look out for themselves

castor loool what a nice dig at my English, nicest insult as well!! i believe u stole that from "Headway" English reading and Writing. Thanks but i have already had that lesson in primary school. But i am sure someone else will benefit from your Google excises. In any case i think what you are encouraging, good English and so forth, is what the author defines as lost, as it takes one further away from their supposed "roots" Dannyeer i don't think it is the kids who need saving here dear.
-
"Don't make me catch a case" The sentence above is grammatical incorrect. Could you please stop being childish now and refrain from hijack this important subject matter that the author of this thread was kind enough to bring our attention to. !!! u dig mate!!

Here's an old fart with a dozen chill pills. You couldn't have possibly been born here the way you write. For the topic, there's even a much larger generation that is lost, namely the one in Somalia. The expats have the choice to study and work hard or become delinquents. The group in Somalia has none of these choices. I'd worry less about these spoiled brats overseas than I do of those back home. The lost ones here are being lost because of bad (or non-existent) parenting. The kid above this post has a point. You can't call it a lost generation when we're the ones who are abondoning them. no i wz not born "here" where ever u were refering to!! AS for my writing i did't realise u were grading me!! but if you wanna challenge me on my engrisi we can start a thread and write essay's!! though u must wait till the summer holidays when i'm bored and nothing better to do and this is all that this "KID" has to say!!

no; the only somali's i see at uni are sisters and 60yr old somali men
