  1. Why how old are you? i was born in 19 seventy cood cood kii
  2. Lily, they do add such beauty. Let me know what your project is Sly because i don't need to go all the way to Hargaisa to be a mother or a wife (did you not know there are men in England) Hunguri: I already do that, doing something does not mean you suddenly stop doing other things, it makes it my purpose in life? Khayr. I want my own source of income, so I can give as I please, help people in my own capacity, and doing something worthwhile. Further more my clan is too small and too poor for them to do anything for me (rather being the one from London I am sure they will be expecting me to help them!) Even worse how does being married stop someone from doing other things in life or getting a source of income. Personally I’m not comfortable being spoon fed by some dude, a clan or family. I have always worked for my own income since I was kid. Mc Xamar. Lool. Thanks but I should be okay (not sure about eating heelib geel though! Northern I read the book, it is her usual racist view points, and her pretending to be an expert in Islam. She is mainly targeting the Pakistani community. Red lool sounds like everyone is having a reunion! Lol ;loool @ I thought Canadian were a brave people
  3. Mantra thanks I e-mailed em: Man you are even more negative than me girl, what’s with that? Paragon What happened to the rest of your thread? miyaad iiga laa nooqati? I was well chaffed with that Explain the sudden change please ? Taliban: Ok Kimiya: I don't know I’ve never noticed I knew so few, I guess I never went to any functions, and at school, college, uni, I was never in the same year as a Somali. I'll PM you my details in a moment. Thanks
  4. C lady. I don't police women who got married to see how long they are carry that child for? it is none of my business really, and what ever she did is between her and her lord. I still stand by my statement. If you are too fast and go to some dude's house ( i don't care if you were dating for 10yrs) whatever happens to you is your own doing and you have no one to blame. As for working naked? Are you kidding me. It is an open invite honey.
  5. Dabshid hmmm, I guess so Nuune okay lool Hodman Iool sounds like a struggle, I’ll make sure to avoid it.! Lol. What will the whole of SOL be doing in Hargisa? Are you going for real? I know JAC claims to live there : ) lool Zafir thanks Rokko : that is a good idea, but I hear 60% of the population can’t read Northern I did not know you were a fan of Melanie Philips AKA mad Mel. Mantra do send me an update of how things went and I don’t think drilling a well is gone get me far in Hargisa, I might need to branch out a bit. The divorce thing does sound tempting lool
  6. Suddenly I don’t seem to have enough time to do anything, so many things I have to do, so little time. One of my current projects in the last few weeks is to create an active Somali organization that is aware of the current state of affairs and how the Somali community is affected by this before i leave in June. In the UK, we have so many organizations working for other communities, e.g. the Pakistan/ Bangladeshi/ Arabs. As for the Somali community they only thing I ever came across was Somali cultural centers (which basically help non English speakers fill out forms or translate for them. How come the Somali community don’t have organizations like MCB, MAB, MPACUK (don’t get me wrong it is good these people exist, but I have worked with every single one, and they barley know Somali people exist, let alone need support). I always knew this was the Somali communities down fall, but then every time I spoke to someone, they always had an explanation or rather an excuse should say (Somali community came after all these, we are less rich, less educated etc). So what changed my mind, people getting arrested under the terror laws, lack of unified response from the Somali community regarding the invasion in Somalia and few other things. To make a long story short, I decided to stop making excuses and launch an organization. I mean it can’t be that hard? Can it! Erm where on earth do I start ( I went through my contact list and found six Somali people on their, three of them my cousins) lets just say that shocked me. So I thought I’ll ring up other organizations and ask them to help promote, or for them to join together. My logic I don’t want anything from them, I’m not asking for money or power, all I want is 2hrs a week. So I though I’ll create a yahoo e-group, get people to join, launch a website, publish material, create teams (an operations team, campaigns team, web team, politics team, current affairs team etc) . Away I went, created the e-group, invited the six people I knew (to my shock only 3accepted the invitation!) I grabbed the Muslim directory, and visited 'find locals' and identified 50 organizations to contact. How hard can it be I did telesales when I was at school, at least this was for a good course right! Wrong it was hard! Some of these organizations were not even active anymore, others had moved, and only three had an e-mail address. Of the first 10 I rang, only three picked up, one was rude (kind of what has that got to do with me attitude, one said to call back to speak to decision maker and the other said that they were a simple interest group who only worked with parents and did not want to deviate from this!) So I came on here to pick your brains and have a rant! What is my next step? i was thinking i need to forget about other organisations and go directly to the masses.., but how..
  7. nuune thanks (why are do you call yourself nuune by the way, doe sit not mean baby?) That is a really good idea, but it is a big job, and equipment, and masses will need to be enlighten people who help organise their rubbish instead of dumping it in each others door steps like i heard. So i don't know, pluz how can you make money out of that (unless you charge families for taking their rubbish, which no one will pay if they can just dump it) hhmm
  8. What question Hun, OHH, you mean this one! .. hmm. I'll tell you what, I’ll give you double that, if you put together a detail plan, strategy, risk assessment and implementation plan. How it deal?
  9. sandpaper for a finish touch     by the way i don't think she is fartuun, fartuun had bad english! Hodman, thats not being people's person, it means you go wrong places, stop hanging out in beauty/ bleaching stores!
  10. Pujaa it might be the water, what do you use for your body (body wash?)
  11. ^^^ You are female? are you kidding me?? loooooooooooool. In that case i don't you should meet Red sea anywhere dear (sorry RED)lool This is so funny! By the way what happens at the grocery stores??
  12. ^^^loool^ i thought that as well.! damn. Dabshid waan kaa yaabi
  13. whats "Boorbiro waa talco powder"^^^ Pujaa: 50 % are you kidding, not in London, I’m sure I would have noticed. like cambaro i hate make up let alone anything else ( sometimes i think i was meant to be a man in this life! lool!) seriously i look at some people and i always think, damn how early do you get up in the morning! Pujaa the reason your face is dry is because you are over loading it with products, day cream, night cream, soap, mask etc.. My advise is use something like coco butter in the morning, use baby wipes (yes baby wipes!) to clean your face before you go to bed, and avoid using soap on your face. It will allow your natural body/ facial oils/ to return. Excessive use of cream will mean either your skin gets too oily or too dry.
  14. Why would you go anywhere with them, let alone their home! I don't care what anyone says, but anyone who invites a guy around her house, or goes to his, if something happens to her, she has no one but herself to blame. I won't go as far as saying Mac soonkor but seriously she opened her self up to potential abuse and whatever else  i for one have no sympathy for her.
  15. Whats Boorbiro hun^^^ Hodman, YOU mean you know people like that, aadanbaan kaa yaabi! lool i have yet to meet someone who has peeled their skin off, i hear they can't walk in the sunshine!! looooooooool, man these people are so funny. Devil loool, haaye, how are you looking now, bit sore and red, don't worry it gets better, you will be white...
  16. BOB no I’m not happy, you quoted me, rather than saying it yourself dear idil I hear you girl, maybe... NGONGE: maaxaad kuu haadshi?? I’m scared of anything that moves other than Humans (and even some humans too) How I’m going to live in Somalia?? I don't know, maybe I’ll makes friends with all the animals! Hodman I will, sounds like I'm your replacement there, hopefully I won't run into all the problems you run into
  17. ^^don't tell me you tried it????
  18. Identity cards or e-passports are a method of keeping everyone in check/ chains and spy on their every move. Here in the UK, anyone who gets a passport after 2008 will be automatically given a biometric ID card along with it. It is an infringement of privacy, freedom and civil liberty. I see nothing to be happy about, let alone post pictures about it. It is indeed a sad day for any country when their citizens are given microchips to track their every move like a criminal! A massive database with an unprecedented amount of personal information would is created which gives government the power to "extend surveillance" of the population, which is something the will Worsen harassment of ethnic minorities or clans. They would provide another pretext for ethnic wars/ targeting religious people. Some people have argued that it is good counter terrorism, the truth is it has little impact on counter-terrorism: Terror networks could forge cards or papers enabling people to get cards, and they haven’t prevented attacks elsewhere. Weighing up the risks and benefits of identity cards is hard as it’s a very complicated issue, But I know Somali people need so much more to be “happy than an e-passport" for a non existent failed state.
  19. ^^^why maxaan iidin kuufaal?? I like my peaceful life as it is thank you very much, Pluz by the sound of it (the complaining ppl do in real life and on this forum) I am not missing much! so Thank God i never bothered with them, Don't plan to either. So yes it is like i don't need them camal. Why are they the worse by the way??
  20. sounds like someone has taken my job over; hint hint JB and hunguri <<what kind of name is that, even worse than Ng!
  21. loool this one is so funny, i can't believe you guys are answering her.
  22. ooh lord... HELP this child, someone knock her silly for me please  Cambarro I hope you are not implying that women change skin colour to be more appealing to men! i swear Somali people have gone mad!!. I hear peeling your skin off is very common in Somalia. Poster here is what you do: Buy black hair dye (it has to be black)Add boiling water, egg, basbaas, onion, black peppers and salt and some huurood) Mix it and splash it all over your body, you will be whiter than the ghost... by the way, it should hurt, but hey no pain no gain. Let me know how it goes.
  23. ^^you are kidding right, at least say sorry... I made a mistake sister!
  24. Thanks Everyone for all your suggestions (excluding BOB ) what the hell! Xalimopatra please do and thanks. For those who has suggested NGO's. I have to agree with Lily, from my experience in working with NGO's they are part of the problem a lot of the time (the do obviously provide some much needed health service). On the whole they consist of few people who want to help and many others who want to make a difference. Also i find it uncomfortable earning money from an organisations that is there to "better people" i don't mind helping out but not as a JOb!. Lily Medicine? hmm that’s kind of like playing with people's life, side effects, affectivity, even taking something as simple are Paracetamol can be problematic. Also i am sure there must be some regulations in exporting medicine. North: a Cloth Factory... hmmm, C. Lady: hello and I don't need insurance in to go to my own home. Red Sea: That the Somali bit is too long and complicated but I did read the last two sentences and the first! I think setting up a community center in one of the neighborhoods would be a great idea. The center would serve youth, elderly and all sorts of persons. Educating people on many health issues, educational needs I wAS thinking that, which means I will have to build a centre before I go their, and that requires more than one person to run, qualified people, and since I don't know one soul in Somalia, and they don't have a recruitment agency, how on earth will I find these people Hodman, thanks; lol, Garaad sorry I did not understand you silent message rudy I’ll assume you were saying Good luck, you are doing the right thing! thanks
  25. HANG on why are there people walking on the bridge in between the cars? somali people. lool. It looks good
