Mr. Omar's office issued a press statement the "international community directly invited Somaliland" to the conference being held in London. Located in northwestern Somalia, Somaliland unilaterally declared independence from the rest of the country in 1991 but has not been recognized internationally. But it is the first time Somaliland officials are attending such a major conference specifically aimed at discussions on how to manage the post-transition of the TFG, whose term expires in August, 2011. Khadar, I dont need to advocate for the Somali lable, because we are already recorded as somali in the census as such since forever (including other foreigners who claimed Somali status) that figure is expected to rise to 250,000 this time around, we need a break down of it for the data to really mean anything.
