  1. Ngonge Do you want to challenge, compete and upstage the Israeli lobby? Get real and ditch your principles. That's politics, my dear. Do I even need to say anything, I could successfully argue that the only reason the Israeli lobby has and continues to succeed is because of the basic principles. I admire them to no ends because although their principles are hard to justify to everyone else, they have not only maintained it, but have managed to brainwash people into accepting or tolerating them. Toure: Don't hide behind Ngonge trash about dropping principles please. I know you really don't think that you have to sacrifices your basic principles in order to be involved in politics. If you do then what is the point of you just adding to the numbers?? Come general election I will vote either on the one who is least oppressive to Muslims both here and aboard or Muslims will block vote to ensure there is not a majority of who ever wins in parliament, there by making the government decision making process more restrictive with better scrutiny.
  2. ^^^^Now you are just being judgemental! That series is not in the UK for another two seasons so I cannot comment, but from experience of hearing other “victims” they seem to over generalise and relate to everything from the way they walk to the inability run on GFM. You can highlight the issue without exaggerating or tainting the whole culture as evil, controlling and epidemic. Although there are sever cases, by large Somali practice is not as endemic or as sever as other countries that are used as comparison.
  3. Haneefah and FB I was not talking about myself, I was referring to the promotional material which is exclusive. I was just making an observation that it would be better if the advertising crew widen the issue out to Somali’s as whole as the project is likely to benefit many Somali’s, and they will raise more funds. I have no issue, nor do I need invitation, I would've gone and made myself right at home...if it was not at 2pm on a weekday because I do think the project is worthwhile. P.s. Apparently that was not the main event anyway. P.s.s I’m sure there was a guy at the door with a sign in sheet and head count of all the Makhirin in UK, saying no no, magacgu kuum qooranah halkan. lol
  4. lol. Girls... get ready Isseh wants something your you guys...WHAt?? did you really think this "appreciation" was free?? Maskeen. lool
  5. Loool CL. You crazy women. It would not bother me as long as he remained professional and is competent. I'd much rather giving him the money than anyone else. I draw the line at a male gynaecologist, urologist, oncologist etc. The strange thing is these professions seriously lack female practitioners.
  6. And I though only that women were manipulative, check out Ngonge manipulating our words left and right.
  7. ^^^I won't go as far as that. Cara: You agree with me, unknowingly. Underground hiphop is alive and kicking, they just don't get the light of day because the mainstream is dominated by trash. Lipe Fiasco has managed to get to mainstream without diluting or dumping down- that is all. I really wish underground hiphop would become mainstream while maintaining what makes it different, original and underground. Obviously the likelihood of that happening is small. Artist often have to mellow out to become mainstream and make money.
  8. ^^^^loool^. I think you are seeing things, how about you reread it!! lol We are not going because the event is not worthwhile as we deem it will fail, nor are we looking or serious enough to qualify. People are suppose to go willingly Ngonge, not be dragged there kicking and screaming! Lol You know by re-justifying my reasons I feel like I’m making excuses, so I’m going to stop right here.
  9. ^^^You are one crazy hard headed farah niiyo would' argue with a rock. I refuse to waste my time with you. Baal waayeh, you are right, just stop wasting my time yaa waalad.
  10. ^^^I said that is how I would feel. Nothing to do with the event itself. The event is good if both party involved takes it seriously and hopes to get somewhere with it. Loool CL, I have one of my own! lol.
  11. ^^^^Lool, I've never claimed to be brave or experimental. Nor I'm belittling the event... I just know it won't work. P.s. I am not going, because it clearly states on the leaflet that is for serious people who intent to get married. I'm neither serious, nor do I have the intention to marry about who I may meet at that event. I thought that was reason enough... Cara I like you shike idea! Loool hahah. Not sure about hanging around and asking all those questions about warranties, and return policies.
  12. Saviour= Redeemer, rescuer, reviver We are not concerned the originated, or the best, or anything else. This kid is reviver of the lyrical superiority that was associated with hip hop, he takes it back to what it was. He is a young lad who is different from what has become known as modern version. I don’t know how you fail to notice the demise of hip hop/ rap. Look at what it has become and compare it what it use to be. He is simple reviving the old skool original hip hop, he may not necessarily be better than some, but he is better than what is around.
  13. ^^^Loool^^ and you would still give your right arm to go and experience that madness. lool Hahaha @ with sheikh nest to you. What gave you that idea?? loooooool.
  14. ^^No honey, few more years to go.... not many though, but just enough...
  15. ^^^Loool^ I forgot about that one as well. Can you even imagine going somewhere knowing everyone else is there for the same reason, it is like a market of commodities....
  16. ^^^What the hell!!! dude maaxa business keeka kuu oogisiyeh??? lol. I'll go when I hit 30 and looking for a new husband, hopefully those events will be the norm by then, and perfectly working rather than first such event.
  17. ^^^So you agree, everything that's come out recently is trash...which was my point at the start. I've recycled the old skool too often, I want something more recent and new and fresh. I know Lupe is not the all time best...but he does it for me right now, along with few others.
  18. ^^^Hmmm, might find one who will agree to spending just the times your wife is away Call it plan B.
  19. ^^^Since you think so highly of the event, why don't you go.
  20. ^^^You know I thought you was only like this in politics, but I can see even in a simple discussion you miss the point. My point was: that his two albums and the one he will drop in the summer ishallah, are really good albums, we have not seen any NEW artist that emerged recently with this level of lyrical quality. Mos def et al have done a lot of trash as well as good stuff, but it still remains old. Now if you can prove me wrong by providing a NEW artist who matches the lyrical quality of this kid, dee please let me hear it, I need a new collection. Otherwise warrerka joji. This kid is the saviour of hip hop from all the current trash that is piling up.
  21. ^^^Common is old, I already told you to foget the artist who have alread emerged years ago. Common has been around for as long as I can remember.
  22. Toure: There is an old saying in the village “people see the ants go past but not the elephants”. That is so true; people squabble over little things but forget the big issues. I remember campaign against the Labour MP Lorna Fitzsimmons (who in the end lost the election in Rochdale) years back, I am a true believer in getting rid of those who does not represent your ideas and values. I do not believe in blindly following and voting for a particular party just because you have always voted Labour. Sadly repeating the same process in the last elections did not cost straw his seat, but it did marginalized it. However I do believe the Muslims in Blackburn learnt a lesson, considering his attitude towards them NOW, after he used and abused the. History has a tendency to repeat itself because we don't learn lesson from it and act to stop it. The need for tactical voting, even if voting means electing the lesser of two evils is what I believe. There are times when I will support a labour representative, for example came May, I will vote for Livingston, rather than Borris, We as Muslims need to block vote with individuals rather than party. I for one want a clear conscience for 2morrow’s mistakes and I can only ensure this by voting for morally just person. As time passes by there is always a loss to mankind, therefore time is precious. It is our duty to participate in politics because we can make an impact….yes but participate to better our conditions and also the condition of everyone in our community and the world not simple following loyalties. P.s. don’t even get me started on the labour friends of Palestine  PPS I do see your idea about changing from within…but it is too bigger goal, and the system has a habit of changing people who went in with good intentions. I interviewed Shahid Malik before he become an MP, he sure has changed. Furthermore in case you have not noticed, not only are Muslims who make it to the top sale-outs, they compete against each other and are too busy having a village fight. I’m sure you remember what happened between Sayeeda Warsi and Malik in Dewsberry. I will see waaxaad laa timiaadid you and your Holborn dude
  23. Loooool @ Cara, that is what I mean, I would love to be there as an observer, it would be a such laugh. Lol It is as un-Somali as you possible get, without falling off the cliff. Ngonge; Lool. No thanks.
  24. ^^^Hey when in summer are u going?? Loool. Ms DD, thanks for thinking of me, but I won't be going. I saw the leaflets at the mosque the other day... at least they are advertising the event. Can I predict in advance that it will be an utter failure. All the little boys will turn up (mainly to look around and so qasho the girls) and the girls will be older and more serious (well at least about the event), a total miss-match I tell ya. It is not in the Somali culture to be on time and formal and serious... or follow rules. lol, I wish I could see the looks on the organizers face when they see the chaos. lol Do report back if haadad banaanka ka qasho to.
