^^There would be no one there, just the groom and his buddy and maybe few Iislaamos... I cannot see a somali bride making it to a day time wedding I mean she needs 5hrs for heena and 3hrs for hair, and she needs her beauty sleep...day over already.

^^^Women beater. Nevertheless. Haad in Somali guys do jack shiid all day, so the least they can do is wash their own damn dishes. but then again the ladies don't do anything either. But say for example in the west; if you both leave home same time and return same time, why should the women do her household role and help out with his share by also working. He cannot have it both ways. If he wants or needs her to work in order to have a decent living standard, he also needs to adopt both roles. I.e. sharing her role since she is helping him earn a living for the family. Is that so hard or unfair??

^^Nevermind change of plans. I'm not coming after all nor are they.

^^^I wonder what a day time somali wedding will be like. You know a full somali mix wedding with a bride in white dress at 3pm lol

^^^Somali wedding season is the fully summer right up to Ramadan. I think it is summer, people get bored and can't find anything to do, so they think Aaah what the hell.. marriage it is
-
A&T Somali men where and what do they do exactly that can be considered as contributing? P.s. I'm sure there are few good fathers, and few in the west who for their own survival learn how to cook decent food.

^^Lander I was not thinking too hard. I did not want to say I would say “No” to my father, because I know if it really happened I'd go along with it, for if nothing else it will make him happy and that dude IF he values his life would treat me right but since she said a "noble, god fearing brother" it should not be too hard. The reason I hesitated is because I see so many Asian arrange marriages, and for a moment I had an image me in a wedding dress waiting at the door to trying to spot my husband from a number of dressed Farahs walking towards me. But I don't think Somali arrange marriages are so discreet. Also it will be tricky if for example things do not work out and you want to leave, if you picked him yourself, then its fine, but if your father picked him then your exit strategy is slightly blocked because it is a family marriage, not two individuals. But then again a normal person will not be thinking of IF things go bad options...

Where is everyone today?? Ngonge, North and Lily are pretending to do work, while Malika is still sleeping. Geel_Jire and Stoic are trying to wake up with coffee and get their day started still...probably trying to figure out how to switch the computer on at this early ungodly hour. Ms DD is chasing customers who are trying to haggle in a shop they are not suppose to haggle. She was last seen cursing them and shaking his fist. [borrowed from Val] Paragon lost his way last week, he is still trying to find his way home. JBis spying on the new Islamist and new politically party, he was last seen chasing a car while snapping away like a paparazzi. Cara is supposedly busy trying to work on a new plan… Xiin got scared by my story, he was awake all last night too scared to sleep in case the females in his house had similar hidden plans. He was seen sleeping his car when he was suppose to be on his way to work. Che was last seen fighting with a bunch of rude and crazy farah’s, word on the street is that he was trying to raise some funds for Somali victims and some people got mad.

I can't do it. I'm having so many blond moments it is not even funny...

A&T it is not about values. It is about survival and the ability to take care of yourself without depending on a female. There is no shame in feeding yourself, in fact it is ultimate nacsnimo if you cannot keep yourself clean and fed and sheltered regardless of if you are a man or women. There is a reason we’ve been blessed with a mind, two arms and legs. To make use of it. There is clear distinction between roles in life for a man and women AND inability to feed and take care of yourself. It is like saying a women does not need to learn to work or basic skills because the traditional role is for her to stay at home, therefore she should just learn how to cook, clean and have children. It is necessary for everyone in life to be a well rounded person. What if your wife is ill or dies, what will become of you and your kids?? You will have to remarry the next day or find yourself yet another female to burden your needs with. My ideas are not western as such, nor I’m looking down on different gender roles, clearly there are something’s that ladies are better suited to than men, and visa verse. I’m not denying that, but no one can convince me that it is shameful for guy to make his bread or do his own washing. It is kibri.com. Particularly a Somali guy who is not fulfilling his original role as the head of house, at least IF they were fully fulfilling their role, they may have a leg to stand on.But currently Somali men are dawaco raatkeediian kaa taaktey, tii kaalan gaadi weyed. (My Somali is on a break today; it should say the fox that left its footprints and could not reach the other)
