^^Why don't you wait till he enforces his words with action before you start jumping for joy, hold the cheer for few months, time will tell. I like how people have suddenly made Qaad a Northern SL problem. Wixii xuun baa SL baa leehy these days. That is one thing no Somali can use as an insult to another Somali. Nor is Qaad seen as anything shameful culturally, in fact it was a sign of maturity and wealth. Now people just chew because they are bored, give them something to do, even the west cannot enforce the ban of qaad.

I asked you to explain your continues referral to the acronym SNM, you blabbered for bit and then realised you sound like an ignorant and archaic individual, so now you want to make it seem like I was asking about Somaliland, secessionist or nationalist. The truth is you are just a confused hateful person. At least be clear on that which you hate, siidaan sii maah.

It is only a good development if there were many alcoholics and excessive chewers in the first place. If there non or few then niikaa shaaqalaan baa heesa, where are his advisors. But if the place was full of alcoholics and junkies then it makes sense to clear it up and get fresh, non intoxicated people making decisions for your people.

Last week The Sun published a highly sensationalist article claiming that "Islamic Extremists" were going to target prominent Jewish people in Britain. Turns out this was a big fat lie! The Sun has pulled the story from the online archive. But they should still be held to account and reported to the Press Complaints Commission. So those of you not working on the Gaza campaign, you can do this. This article was reprinted on all the newspapers following the "sun's discovery" so it was not somthing small. Rupert Murdoch's 'The Sun' Newspaper has set new standards, if it was at all possible, for Irresponsible Journalism. A recent front page news story featured a warning that prominent members of the British Jewish Community including Sir Alan Sugar were on a hit list for 'hate filled Islamic extremists' as an act of retribution for Israel's offensive on Gaza. Bloggerheads has done an absolutely fantastic piece in which they have exposed The Sun "article" as a complete Sham! The Sun claimed that members of an online forum on Ummah.com were planning a murderous campaign. Someone by the username of 'abuislam' was highlighted as being the main instigator on the fourm. The Sun's story (literally) was provided "expert" input by Glen Jenvey a self-proclaimed 'freelance terrorism expert'. It now turns out that all threatening and violent posts on Ummah.com were made by 'abuislam' and that 'abuislam' and Glen Jenvey are actually the same person! The whole basis for the sensationalist Sun story were the comments that Glenn Jenvey himself had planted on the forum. The Sun has pulled the story from its online archive but the text of the original article can still be read on the Engage website for those who missed it. Engage are also encouraging people to write to the Press Complaints Commission and also to write to The Sun to see what it has to say for itself? Complaints Commission website. here Write to John Coles at The Sun on j.coles@the-sun.co.uk Please Remember that when contacting John Coles refrain from using any abusive, threatening or violent language. Be polite but firm and see what explanation is given for this farce of a Sun "article".

A spokesman for the United Nations humanitarian relief agency in Gaza says Israeli shells containing the controversial chemical white phosphorus struck their compound in Gaza City Thursday, setting at least one building on fire and injuring three people. UNRWA spokesman Johan Eriksson told the British Broadcasting Corp. via phone from Jerusalem that he had just spoken to the agency's boss in Gaza City, who confirmed to him that at least three shells containing white phosphorus hit their sprawling compound. "Fire is raging inside our compound. It is inside a mechanical workshop," Eriksson told the BBC, adding that shipping pallets loaded with humanitarian aid were also on fire inside the compound. "Firefighters cannot do anything. White phosphorus has landed and these fires cannot be put out," said Eriksson. "Three people inside the compound are injured so far." He said hundreds of Palestinian refugees were being sheltered at the sprawling compound, but they were at least a couple hundred yards away from the fire. However, he warned that the blaze was dangerously close — just several yards — to fuel tankers and a fuel pump on the compound grounds. Eriksson said senior U.N. officials were in constant contact with "the highest level of the Israeli Army" and were urging them to "stop firing in the immediate vicinity of the compound." "So far our calls have been unheard," he said. Eriksson said the senior UNRWA official in Gaza City, John Ging, was a former Irish soldier and had confirmed the use of white phosphorus. Use of the incendiary chemical has not been completely banned, but aid groups have said Israel's use of it in densely populated areas violates internationally accepted rules of combat. Israel maintains it only uses weapons in accordance with international laws. Source: Enough

Israel Condemns Vatican’s ‘Concentration Camp’ Remarks. ROME — Tensions rose between the Vatican and Israel on Thursday after Israel condemned a high-ranking Vatican official for comparing the Gaza Strip to “a concentration camp.” "Look at the conditions in Gaza: more and more, it resembles a big concentration camp,” Cardinal Renato Martino, the president of the Council for Justice and Peace, said in an interview published Wednesday in an online publication. He defended his comments in the center-left daily newspaper La Repubblica on Thursday. While noting that Hamas rockets into Israel were “certainly not sugared almonds,” he called the situation in Gaza “horrific” and said conditions there went “against human dignity.” Israel on Thursday harshly condemned the cardinal’s use of World War Two imagery. “We are astounded that a spiritual dignitary would have such words, that are so far removed from truth and dignity,” said Yigal Palmor, a spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry. He added that it was “shocking to hear the vocabulary of Hamas propaganda coming from a member of the church.” But he denied that it would cause a diplomatic crisis. It “doesn’t change the nature of relations between Israel and the Holy See,” Mr. Palmor said. The Vatican sought to downplay the cardinal’s remarks. The Vatican spokesman, Rev. Federico Lombardi, called Cardinal Martino’s choice of words “inopportune,” and said they created “irritation and confusion” more than illumination. While calling the cardinal “an authoritative person,” Rev. Lombardi added that “The more authoritative voice and line would be that of the pope.” Indeed, the cardinal’s remarks overshadowed an important discourse that Pope Benedict XVI delivered on Thursday, in which he called for a ceasefire in Gaza and decried “a renewed outbreak of violence provoking immense damage and suffering for the civilian population.” “Once again I would repeat that military options are no solution and that violence, wherever it comes from and whatever form it takes, must be firmly condemned,” he told diplomats accredited to the Vatican. In unusually direct remarks, the pope looked ahead to “crucial elections” coming up in the Middle East and called for dialogue between Israel and Syria, the “strengthening of institutions” in Lebanon and a “negotiated solution” to “the controversy surrounding” Iran’s nuclear program. Israel’s ambassador to the Vatican, Mordechay Lewy, said events Gaza had “no connection” to plans underway for Benedict to visit Israel, the West Bank and Jordan this spring. The Vatican has not yet officially announced the trip. In the past, some Jews have seen the Vatican’s approach as more sympathetic to Palestinian suffering than Israeli security. Mr. Lewy called the pope’s speech “equivocal.” “The language and the expectations of the Holy Father and the scope of his interests are different from those of a politician,” Mr. Lewy said. “In practical politics, I’m sure Israel wouldn’t have existed if we would have acted without any force.” http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/09/world/middleeast /09vatican.html?_r=1&em

The Gaza Strip has been turned into a "big concentration camp" by two weeks of Israeli bombardments, a senior Vatican cardinal said in an interview published on Wednesday Cardinal Renato Martino, the Vatican's justice and peace minister, made his comments in an interview with the online Italian news website Il Sussidiario.net. "Defenceless populations are always the ones who pay. Look at the conditions in Gaza: more and more, it resembles a big concentration camp," said Cardinal Martino. He said it was in the interest of neither party to carry on fighting and urged both to show more "willingness" to hold peace talks. "If they can't come to an agreement, then someone else should do it (for them). The world cannot sit back and watch without doing anything. "We Christians are not the only ones to call this land 'holy', Jews and Muslims do so too. The fact that this land is the scene of bloodshed seems a great tragedy," he added. Israel's offensive on Gaza has killed almost 700 Palestinians and injured 3,000 since Dec 27, according to Gaza medics. Aid agencies have declared a "total" humanitarian crisis in Gaza, owing to the ailing stocks of basic food, water and medical supplies. The pope is due to visit Holy Land sites in Jordan, Israel and the West Bank in May. Source
