  1. Sheh@ I walked home for 2hrs and 30mins, then I did boxing (we'll call it shadow boxing 10mins) then I played tennis for 1hr (not the usual way of playing tennis), then I jogged for 3mins. Malika get a farah to do it.
  2. @ LAyzie. I don't see what is so difficult to understand girls. You remaining a virgin is not a social obligation or for your husband or for anything else for that matter, it is because of Religion, why do you keep talking about double standard iyo sharaf and bullshid. You are all looking at this kinda upside down, it is irrelevant what the guy is at this point, it is as absurd as saying I will stay a virgin because Hebalaayo from down the road has made the same choice. Okay if you decided to keep your virginity for any other reason than religion, then this is a different story, however if your reason is religion, you are really barking up the wrong tree by trying to police others. It is between them and Allah. What is worrying is that someone of you seem to only keep it locked out of fear or what people or husband would say, rather than an obligation, even more worrying is that you do not see someone who has broken Allah's laws, a major sinner, as that, but rather term it experience, iyo this and that. Miyaad waalan tiihi miise I'm confused. This person is a criminal and until they repent, they will remain so, how can you almost glorify it? Abû Hurayrah, may Allâh be pleased with him, said that the Messenger of Allâh, may Allâh bless him and grant him peace, said, “A fornicator does not fornicate while a believer, a thief does not steal while a believer, and a man does not drink alcohol while a believer. When someone does that, the halter of Islâm slips from his neck. If he repents, Allâh returns to him.” Would you marry someone who steals or drinks, the answer is no, so why would you consider and almost be proud of a guy who slept around and try to make it a positive attribution. As for boys versus the girls, well the crime is the same, and in Islam the punishment is the same, so is it really relevant if other humans can tell if you have cheated and not a virgin? The warning is to both: “Do not go near to fornication. It is an indecent act, an evil way.” (17:32) “Those who do not call on another god together with Allâh and do not kill any person Allâh has made inviolate – except with a right – and do not fornicate. Anyone who does that will receive an evil punishment.” (25:68) C&H: I had this discuss with Aaliya about this ayah before and I gave her some explanations, I tried to find the thread, but can’t find it. I will dig up the evidence for you if I can, but in short, the person is judged on their current state, so a former reformed fornicator does not have to pair up with another reformer, they make their repentance to Allah for their mistakes and are no longer in that category. The ayah is relevant to those who do not repent and remain in that life style.
  3. I keep reading my name in other threads in convos I have nothing to do with, from politics to general, to women. It is confusing me. I need a name change, what do you suggest?

  8. 'Khat' is a popular stimulant chewed across east Africa. Now it is crossing cultural divides and becoming a drug of choice for an increasing number of young people in the UK. The khat plant, Catha edulis, has been chewed by east Africans for hundreds of years and plays a large part in the social lives of both men and women. It is banned across America, Canada and most of Europe, but remains legal in Britain. Khat user Steve [not his real name] is a philosophy student. He is one of an increasing number of students who are taking up the habit. Steve, who is 22, comes from a good middle-class family and in a slightly apologetic tone he tells me he was drawn to the leaves because they looked harmless. "They looked really natural, not like a normal drug and they were all wrapped up in this really shiny banana leaf." Crossing divides Chewing khat according to those who do it, gives them a mellow high. Some describe it as a cross between cannabis and cocaine. You're really alert," says Steve, "but at the same time you have a bit of the feeling you have on cannabis... not hallucinations but going that sort of way." In Somalia, khat is popular among taxi drivers and farm workers - people who have to stay alert while the rest of us are tucked up in bed. In the UK, some students are using it for the same reasons, saying it helps them stay up all night studying. It is relatively easy to get, and it's cheap too - your average bundle costs about £3 ($.4.20). When I went in search of some for this piece, I was pointed in the direction of an Ethiopian butchers in north London. They had sold out, but assured me they were expecting a fresh batch to be delivered in a couple of days. The woman behind the counter suggested I try down the road. Next stop and sure enough there it was, nestled innocently between the cucumbers and courgettes. "Aren't you worried about selling it," I ask. "No, why should I be?" The store owner asks, with a slightly bemused look on his face. "Its legal, we pay taxes and people want to buy it, so I sell it." Controversial status But there growing concern that khat houses are trying to appeal more to younger users. And that according to Asha, a teenager we meet at a community centre in east London, is setting a dangerous precedent. "I see so many kids who...start because they just want to try it, but then they end up going there 24/7," he says. "I know [people who] have ended up dropping out of college because they've been up chewing all night and can't get out of bed. Plus you get people selling other harder drugs in there." But it's not just the impact on academic results critics are concerned about Psychiatrist Dr Eleni Palezido reckons that khat can be a catalyst for mental health problems. "When you stop taking khat all the dopamine (a chemical associated with feelings of pleasure in the brain) leaves your system, so people get depressed, they can get paranoid, hear voices and it can lead to a full blown psychotic state." Cathinone and cathine are the main ingredients of the plant. Both are class C drugs in the UK, but the plant khat itself is not classified and can be bought openly in shops. Cathinone is almost identical to amphetamines and it is this that creates a high. It's known to cause mental health problems like psychosis and depression. And that is one of the reasons why some in the medical profession, like Dr Palezido, are worried. "Young people have no idea about the dangers, they think because it's legal it must be ok, but it's not." So far, the Government has been reluctant to introduce a ban on khat. Although, the Home Office told us they were "continuing to monitor the situation." Around seven tonnes of khat arrives at Heathrow every week from Ethiopia, Kenya and Yemen. The fact that it is legal here has meant the UK has become something of an international hub for illicit trade in khat to other countries where it is banned. There are no official figures on how many young British people are using khat, but Asha reckons the politicians should act now before it's too late. "The government should be doing something about it. They think it's just Somalis who are doing it but it's not....everyone's now getting involved." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7942432.stm

Faheem all last night in my dreams I was having fights, and I was being terrorised inside a mosque by a lady with lots of body piercing. 16. ^^After reading this thread and the views expressed by the females, do you not agree with him??? Have you read what some girls were saying in 2002 and others are still saying in 2009. I mean, I hope for their sake they were joking or just pulling our legs. Haadi kale, not only are they a bit thick, but they got played by the male population in a big way.
  17. ^^^Hey how are you feeling?
  18. Morning people. I lost 154friends today, well at least that is what facebook tried to tell me as I deactivated my account. Manipulative nosy prisoner guards, they ask you click on a list of reasons why you are leaving, then each time you click on a reason, they give you an answer and justification, after you finally pass that stage, you get little pictures and mini notice "SO and so will miss you and won't be able to keep in contact". Can't decide if I am happy I got rid of knowing all these random things about people, which I would otherwise never have known, or if I am now disadvantaged. Anyway girls enjoy this, it cracked me up! HAHA

  24. Duky: You just shot yourself in the foot. Somaliland.org, hence everything in Somaliland is news worthy to them, it always has been! Since Burco us the second largest city in SL I don't blame them for reporting pre election movements. I am asking about your own temporary interest, almost pretending that all of sudden you are the voice of Burco. Give me a break please. As for your "full blown no more toleration", maybe so, but highly unlikely, in any case it is none of your business, that is for reer Burco to decide and they are good at making their own decisions, they certainly don't need dab***** kaasto suddenly getting on the bandwagon. It won't happen like you wish.
  25. Hey Val and C&H How you girls Val when are you off on your tour???
