I would like to say I am happy this event concluded without any blood shed between the clans, and without any hard feelings (well apart from Marx, who no one has seen since yesterday 5pm) The rest JB, Nuune and Ngonge would all like to admit the best man won and send their congratulations and want to be part of his cabinet. Adam would like to extend is congrats, but has decided to retire for a while. This has taken a toll on his family life and he reiterates that his decision is nothing against A&T or KK, sending is warmest congrats and best regards. The girls all decided to have a party and are all happy, with the exception of Malika, who is slightly annoyed that she spent more time campaigning for A&T rather than herself, and this might have cost her the SOL white house. All the girls would like to send KK a pair of fab high heels and baby lotion as congrats. They say the guys fight too much and too much politics and rubbish. They the girls should lead SOL, as they are cool, fashionable, calm and collected people with considerable talent. Congrats and Hambalyo to Kool Kat and A&T We hope to hear all about your plans for the next year. If the man with the baby face shows up, he promised that if the election proved to be a honest and fair one, he will handle the presents. I don't hear any compliants, so babyface over to you. ^^^^Loool, you guys are so mean A&T, I am waiting for your apology for all the nonsense you accused me off. I want you to acknowledge your jumping the gun hasty reaction and give xaal to my clan for insulting me and them. Despite all your ho-ho and insulting PMs, We still were good enough to be the first (via me) to extend our congrats. Since we are getting political, this is starting to simulate the north/ south reunion. Don’t run away with the flag and national anthem to Mogodishu and forget about the people that planned and delivered the victory as well as the power taking event

Burundi calls for changes to UN mandate in Somalia Burundi is paying a heavy cost to keep the peace in Somalia, its Second Vice President told the General Assembly on Saturday. Since joining the African Union Mission to Somalia, AMISOM, the country has lost 25 peacekeepers in three separate suicide bomb attacks, including three crash victims aboard the Russian cargo flight that fell in Uganda's Lake Victoria on March 2009. Against this backdrop, Gabriel Ntisezerana told the Assembly the public in Burundi was calling for the withdrawal of troops. As for the government, its stance was the mission could only be pursued [as it stands] if changes were made to the mandate. Gabriel Ntisezerana "AMISOM's mandate must be modified to allow contingents to prevent deadly attacks and allow them to take the offensive or to pursue aggressors if necessary in accordance with Chapter 7 of the UN Charter." The government of Burundi also needed to be better equipped, with troop reinforcement and air strike capacity. Ntisezerana also reiterated the call for sanctions to be applied against countries, organizations and individuals supporting Islamist groups. Islamist groups often punish people in public - these men are being flogged Islamist militants in Somalia have executed two people they accused of spying for foreign organisations. Hundreds watched as a firing squad arranged by the al-Shabab group shot the pair in the capital, Mogadishu. Al-Shabab officials said the men had been found guilty of working for the US CIA and African Union peacekeepers. Analysts say the killings may have been in retaliation for a US raid earlier this month, in which an al-Qaeda suspect is said to have been killed. The US regards al-Shabab as a proxy for al-Qaeda in Somalia, and says the group threatens to destabilise the region. One witness to the execution told AP news agency that 10 al-Shabab fighters shot the pair in Mogadishu's main livestock market in front of hundreds of people. Al-Shabab's Sharia courts, usually held in the open, have in the past sentenced people to execution, amputations and public floggings. Two weeks ago, US forces launched an attack from helicopters in southern Somalia, reportedly killing Kenyan-born Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan who was wanted by the US for attacks in Kenya. It was the first such US incursion into Somalia for years. Days after the raid, suicide bombers attacked an AU base in Mogadishu and killed at least 16 people. Al-Shabab claimed responsibility, saying the attack was in revenge for the US raid. Islamist rebels control much of central and southern Somalia, including parts of the capital city. Al-Shabab is attempting to impose an extreme brand of Islamic law on the areas it controls. Its fighters are battling troops loyal to the government - which controls little territory and is backed by the US, UN and peacekeepers from the AU. Other radical Islamists, who are allied to al-Shabab in some areas and fight them in other places, also vie for control of large parts of the country. The country has been wracked by conflict since 1991, when it last had an effective national government. Some three million people - half the population - need food aid, while hundreds of thousands of people have fled the country. BBC
