^^What is the use in getting personal? Lily: Not a true reflection- estimate say 60% of current Somali population in the UK arrived after 1998 either from other parts of Europe or from Somalia. So yes those of us who arrive in the early 1990s can isku toosani few things, but what about everyone else. She is 40 and he is 50 (that is assuming wa real age- also highly unlikely) So if he arrives as a 42year old man and she was 32 women- as a refugee with no formal education what role can they place in society? Juxa: Sure divorce the State- but I think that is for the new generation- I don't think anyone over the age of 40 who is Somali and not educated can at this late stage divorce the state.

^^^Norf that is the answer- YOU go and read the “no campaign” literature about the Islamic take over and changing the landscape of the city to mirror Muslims countries, and Political Islam’s along with a bunch of phrases that make no sense together. If there were MUSLIM individuals who were well placed in parliament, the media and the institutions to counter these allegations and explain the basic function of the increasing viability of Islam in these society, then the fear mongering people will not have such huge ignorant audience to preach to. Again look beyond this campaign- this thing started back when the Muslims started to arrive- this banning and all the ones that will follow are just the results and the symptoms of the ignorance starting to manifest. Now we are all in denial blaming the bad bad kuufar for hating us and yad yad ya.

Originally posted by NGONGE: I know a family exactly like that one. They get three members of their family to send them money each month and they're living like kings back in Somalia through Cabdi & Xalimos hard earned cash. In fact, one of them is even rumoured to be a qat addict. When told about the story, Ibti shook her head and said: "On a postive side maybe it will stimulate debate...." (this seems to be her catch phrase for the week). Are the three members working?? If so I don't see the problem. Loool @ catch phrase of the week!! Juxa let it go Northy why? Juxa: I agree with all that- but we should not making HIM and HIS family carry the general problem with our community. YES his case just highlighted the problem in our community- we should not throw our shoes at him for shaming himself and us and then forget about it- what does that solve. Be practice people- we don't know why he sold his story or even IF he sold it or if he is sane. But the issue remains that our community is dependent on state, so rather than shaking your head and shouting abuse, show me something else. WHAT NEXT- after you all finish huffing and puffing and abusing the dude and his family? Then you all go back to your jobs- high and mighty, but I tell you now that this road has been opened- we'll be on the newspaper and TV ads for benefit fraud all the time.

Lily you know what I mean- None of us came from wealthy rich families, who upon arriving in the UK brought houses and paid our way. Lets not get ahead of ourself. I just don't know who can mock who or claim the high ground- we've all done our share of the begging- how else did we get here.

^^^Loool Now now Malika easy there dear. C&H: Running must have been going on its own because I've been having a hard time getting up for work let alone jogging- it is so so cold- you could not pay me to go out now! LOL The Moral of the story is that even when they listen- they jump to ahead rather than asking for more details.

Juxa: We don't know if he is able and healthy- he looks it, but I cannot see a normal somali person getting the sun or any newspaper into their home. At first I thought the story was fake and made up by the sun, but I see some of the posters know them. Strange thing. Juxa my point is- since it is a welfare state- really who other than the top 10% of the society can point back at others. Even our MPs are stealing- so really. Norf: JZK, I read your signature randomly while thinking it is part of your post.
-
North and the Point: You are both being short sighted although you both think that waad naga ihdo dheertihin!! The point is not that society is becoming more hostile to anything resembling Islam, it is that we have increased in numbers and more visible as a community within these societies in the last 10-20 years, but we have failed to educate our host communities about who or what we are or make an impact on the decision making arena. So others have done it for us, and the so called hostility is just fear of the unknown. We cannot say people are hostile to anything Islam- because we failed in our duty to tell them or give them an alternative option. When they ban our ritualize or symbolism in their country, we often react in anger by burning flags and ranting on TV like lunatics or moaning about how unfair it is. This in turn enhances this fear and alien Muslims, but we never build the institutions to defend us logically and in the individuals to occupy the relevant places in society and speak for us. What is the use of having a prayer hall or mosques if you do not have the pillars and insititutions to defend what role it places or stands for in our community.

Oh my God!!! Some people here are more pis*sed off then the sun readers! Lol As for the issue of Milking the system: When does it go beyond the acceptable norm- for example EVERY single one of us who grew up in the UK before the age of 16 got child benefit- granted it was only £18 or something and school dinners, but that was tax payers money. Okay When YOU (the older lot) when to university- you all got a grant of £3,500 (Not including the low interest loans for those who took it)- also tax payers money. None of you on here live in houses you owe- few of you rent (half of which rent from crooks who are sub letting their council houses may I add) while the rest of you live in council houses or live with someone who lives in a council house. Now now, there are 0.01% of you posters who rent or maybe even owe legitimately and grew up else where so did not get child support- but even if YOU as an individual don’t, I can guarantee that the government supplements for a few members of your family- now if any of you are telling me you owe your own home and none of your family are or were on welfare or other working class assistance solutions- then well done to you and yours, but the chance are you was not a refugee from Somalia in the 1990s, but economic migrants from else where or the ruling elite of Somalia who stole all the money or were educated and well placed in foreign jobs before the collapse of the state. I just don't understand or like why this family let the sun invade their privacy and post pictures of their house. Or the fact that they are now being used to abuse the Somali community. On a postive side maybe it will stimulate debate and get our community into jobs and extend the level of support available to them. At the same time- maybe young people would not see the welfare as a legitimate source of income, stop chewing and get a job- or at least tighten the rules which regulate state support so they are forced to work.

^^W/salama I pay for everything I can with card- not only do I hate carrying cash with me (never use to carry a purse) but I also lose it, put it in the pin with receipt and all sorts of nonsense. Also when I do my tax return it makes it easier to see what benefit I qualify for- what was business or wasted. Ngonge do something out the ordinary. It took a trip to India and three consecutive day withdrawals of R30000 to block my card. now that is a security breach. I remember when we called the bank- my friend qaxooti bank call center was in Mumbai- the guy wanted to come and meet her- he was so excited she was in India. I work up at 3am because the heater in my house won't turn off and my house is like a little oven- Might have to sleep with the door and windows open tonight.

^^I did not assume it was his parents- He said See, I have a parent who is very -- shall we say -- qabiilistic, and it would be a lie to say that years of being exposed to this parent's unrelenting qabiil concerns did not give me certain negative impressions. I hope they're false. I don't get what he is asking: - He is from the Isaa clan and wants to know if he will be abused in SL - He is from another clan but has heard about the said clan and their abuse and is worried about them - He is talking about the collective shike clans and what they will do to him Either way, he is not going to know until he checks it out for himself, fear just holds you back in life, he needs to let go and if he is serious- he can do credible research rathern than bunch of forum users.

^^Good idea. Plan it for the 17th, one of the girls is having an exciting week then. A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching his wife, who was looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her birthday. 'I'd like to be six again', she replied, still looking in the mirror . On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Roller Coaster, everything there was. Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favorite candy, M&M's. What a fabulous adventure! Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, 'Well Dear, what was it like being six again?' Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed. 'I meant my dress size, you retard!!!!' The moral of the story: Even when a man is listening, he is gonna get it wrong.
