  1. Ngonge post it on Troll corner then you nutcase. Maya eh Caadan ba laga heesay.
  2. ^^^They don't have the power and they are being isolated, and yes they are small in numbers compared to the Muslims. There have always been tensions but in recent years it has worsen- media or no media. Only place I've seen true merge of religious groups in the middle East is Syria. That country has Jews, Christians, Muslims and they all blend together and fit together in shared equality/ opportunities. Even the Iraqi refugees, Lebanese and Palestinian have found a place there- temporary but more comfortable than other places. I think it is a good model for other Middle East to follow.
  3. I saw this BBC Documentary about the situation of the Egyptian Copts Christians. Sad really, crazy how Muslim and the Palestine copts are united but the Egyptian are terrorising this small community.
  4. Congrats on all you have done and achieved in the last year JB (yes I can be nice) You should be proud of yourself. I even see you say Mashallah, inshallah and making dua for people on SOL. Many more blessed years for you and yours.
  5. Oz did you not like the food at all? and how long did you stay there? North have you recovered from the Liverpool loss already
  6. : -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by Cicero: Why would any wily wadaad tell a down-trodden, disenfranchised woman that she need not wear the Burka costume. It's just not in his interest. A wadaad would rather have four, burka-clad wives whom he can beat on the divine pretext of insufficient obedience . Had I not been an ethical humanist, I would be a muslim fundementalist. Mutliple wives, sanction to beat, and helpful angels who will curse on my behalf whenever one of my multiple wives refuses to have sex. As a male, the system is rigged in my favor. But I shall not succumb to such moral turpitude. I guess the fate of muslim women rests on the shoulders of free-thinking, fiercely intelligent females like Naden, Lazyie, Cara et al. Wadaads aren't into womens rights. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After keeping a close eye on your most recent posts, we came to the conclusion that you don’t add much value to this website. This site is maintained, edited, moderated, used and read by an overwhelmingly Muslim audience who kept it moving for nearly 10 years. Your open, sometimes veiled, attack against Islam and Muslims, alienates users and lowers quality of the forum. This is not a site for atheist fundamentalists. This is a heavily moderated Somali forum. Yes there is a bias towards topics that are within our chosen standards. It is not a free-for-everything venue. You have been given a chance to sensibly participate in useful discussions, but you have chosen to inflame others and abuse your membership. We have no choice but to revoke your membership. Please find other venues when you can freely indulge in these kinds of inflammatory contests. Good luck. TOPIC IS CLOSED. Looks like Admin had enough of Cicero Rants.
  7. This was published in 2008 or 2009 in the Sun, which they later pulled because it turned out that the bus was empty when he pulled over and prayer near a bus stop. I think same story is making it to the Arabic newspapers, I saw it today as well. I doubt it happened again.
  8. ^^^Where do you think the data comes from? It certainly does not drop out of the sky, in the Somali context sadly all we have is people's testimonies!
  9. ^^You are becoming stuck on me ma istidi berryahan. I did answer him dhee, it is just not the answer he was hoping for.
  10. Lazy: Well good for you dear, I’m glad you push yourself and you get so angry and I hope you are able to do more for them. As for what I am emotionally invested in, you could not even being to understand, so we'll keep that door firmly close shall we. As for data, the causes are obvious, the data tells you where or who you shall be focusing on or prioritising, without data you are a headless chicken running around. Don't know what questioned you asked me, must have missed it?
  11. ^^More like snow iyo frezzing in London, but I guess that is bashq bashq walking alhumdulilah. Facebook and me have issues, I deleted it for Ramadan, and then did not bother, I keep uptodate with your status though School kii ma damasey miis you are avoiding studying hence why you are here
  12. ^^I cannot watch things that does fit into reality or at least seem plausible. So I can't watch animated stuff and things like this.
  13. Lool @ Ila Yom al Qiyama, They have recently been given funds to tackle the situation, but they wasting most of it, and lack of research and policy means most of it will go to policy papers and research (unless they divert it else where all together.) I don't see sitution improving anytime soon though.
  14. ^^Make sure you use organisations that exist and do something, giving your money to a rich toog is a *b*i*t**. Plus recently I've started to think that this small donations don't change anything, jst maintains the condition, and makes us feel less guilty once in a while. But then again if it does get there, it makes a difference to the one who gets it. I can't help it, they took the emotions out of everything, I spent the first two years crying and fighting with everyone for speaking about people in numbers and boxs.
  15. I can't watch Supernaturalism/Sword &Sorcery etc so this year is a really bad year for me. Saw trailer for Wolfman, does not look healthy at all.
  16. That image is so nasty. I went to the link you posted above of the Jamas Tunna, horrid images  After going swimming yesterday, today I noticed my arm muscles are defined when I tense  I'm gonna get big shoulders?
  17. How about they pick up a book, you know the old fashion way. Read, read and read till you are as smart or educated as you want. Miis you think the niqab means they also forget how to read. Why Somali wadads btw?
  18. Salam Haneefah, How are you sweetie, I aint seen you for ages, was thinking of coming back to facebook to look for you How is it all going. Adam, Haye, when are you due?? Can I name her please- are u sure it is a her? Watching Arsenal Vs Liverpool and trying to get rid of headache.
  19. Lool @ educate them. Still assuming they are defend and blind miyia. This topic is dead, let it go.
  20. Originally posted by LayZie G.: quote:So this trade attracts certain age range who probably psychologically at least given up on having a normal life, which makes it an alternative rather than compulsion. Ibti, are you hearing yourself? YOu can't be serious, unless ofcourse you are looking to get a rise out of people. Aad iyo aad ayaa naagaha baahan ugu afgaftay and only someone whose belly is fool talks the way you are talking about these women. They did not choose the job, the job chose them because of their circumstances. What would you have a mother of 3 do in yemen, who doesnt have tol in diaspora to support her and her children? She cant get a job? The government cant provide for their people much less refugees...so, the only other think she can do is Beg? She is doing that already. She is begging men to sleep with her so that her child doesnt go hungry and have enough to buy milk and bread and put a roof over their heads. What more do you have them do? YOu want her to kill herself out of shame? I'm positive the thought has crossed her mind but she cant bring herself to do it because her children will be left alone to starve to death...so what would you have her do? Put her in a category and say if she is a certain age, she is whoring herself because she wants to because she has given hope, so let her whore herself, because Ibti feels that there is more these women can do...you dont think Naag somali eh, oo Muslim eh thought about the alternatives? You dont give our women much credit but you are the first to champion an arab's right to wear Burka... I say take your words back for Allah is witness to your cruelty...your idea of showing compassion is only limited to the suffering of the Muslims in the middle east... Take back your words or tan mar maalintaan aheyn baad illaah ugu jawaabeysaa.... Seems like your emotions are running away with you today lazy. Hold your horses, I'm sure you'll need them for something else. Go back and read what I wrote instead of looking for key words. Observing something interesting in a supposed research is normal and advised. Categorizing them or noticing patterns only means we look at things from different perspective. You read this and though Oh my god this poor women, damn these Somalis who chased them out of their homes, and this Arabs and our useless leaders and Somalis in the Diaspora who are not doing enough. Whereas I read it and thought, I wonder how wide spread this is? What percentage of the Somali women there, how long does the average one stay in this trade, is it self prostitution or do they have PIMPS who beat and rip them off. Does it involve young people, what age range. Looking at the females they interviewed it would appear it is women, new arrivals, with children/dependents over the age of 30, I would then progress into why them etc. Allah knows my intentions and I hope my meeting with him will be good.
  21. No, the title is as it was published in AlJazeera, in fact, there are few more lines which follow that I did not bother putting in. Maybe your so bent on seeing your own view as usual waxaba ku daqdaqi. As for minarets, maybe you need to go back to them threads, I was not bothered then, even less hadaa, I already gave you my reason for posting this, so there is no need for your theories. As for sound angry, I don't know what your on about- on second though, I have my Burka on today- maybe it is changing my behaviour P.s. I did not go to all those blogs your bloody baadow, It was all in the one article I posted as a quote!!
  22. Originally posted by LayZie G.: Ibti, the title of this thread is very misleading and I'm very disappointed that your campaign of everything Muslims has come to this. (are there no burka wearers that you can champion for anymore instead of recycling news?) Cyber Nomad is the only one that has some sense left in this forum for he/she is only one that pointed to the obvious. The subject did not convert overnight nor did the news of his conversion occur in the year 2010. Today is wednesday, February 10th, 2010 and the subject's conversion took place sometime n 2007 but somehow, somewhere, this has become a recent news that we should know about? He is a nobody and his conversion does not change anything. I Would sooner hear about a youtube conversion of a Caucasian subject than this opportunistic man who was looking to score political points against his former party and commit indirect treason by selling out his country. Lazy like I care when and if you are disappointed. This was not campaign and speaking of Burka I got bored of waiting for you to catch some air. The thread title is not misleading unless your English somehow went AWOL on you. Swiss Politician Daniel Streich, Who Led Anti-Islamic Campaign:- Embraces Islam. That is the long and short of it, I never claimed he did it today, in fact it says on the article the date he did as well as when he made it public. As for why is it news, I posted this thread to highlight to someone people that Islam can and is for everyone regardless of what they use to say. If I dig back a few years I can find blog entries I made about this "evil ignorant man". How time changes. So to answer your question; it is news because he recently went public with his new religion, and I felt it is appropriate for the current tone of SOL, with all the my religion is not your religion that is going on. If it bothers you so much >>> As for he sold his country, how?? by changing religions, not another one of your illogical reasons again please, as for why he changed religion, only he and Allah knows. Can you say you are a better Muslim than him? It is all irrelevant to be honest. Everyone is a nobody to others who have no significance to him. It matters to HIM that he converted and most importantly it matters to people know him. In addition it matters to Muslims in his society because he is a rich, experienced recognizable man, who if nothing else can bring religion from its isolated corner and into the mainstream.
  23. And you are doing what for them?? Aside from mouthing off in a forum that is. Really, sadness, outrage and disgust isn’t going to get them barris or get them out of prostitution. But I guess it makes you feel better. There are lots of dedicated people speaking for them, working and helping them, they could use more people and resources, and also getting ride of all those who claim to speak for them but really just use them to get funds. Nevertheless regardless of the help available the situation is always going to be bad in camps and particularly for illegal aliens. It is not only Yemen, refugees in the “civilized West” also face challenges, particularly lone women travelers and the conditions of some of the camps, particularly in places like Malta is horrendous. PeaceNow, nice to see that aside from your usual name calling, your sharing the shame and have empathy today. As for what else can they do; interestingly enough there was a BBC documentary on the Somalis in Yemen and many were doing things like carrying shopping, washing cars, clothes, shinning shoes and housework. It is interesting that in this report (unless it is yet again another fabricated one) all the women are older, previously married, have external pressures (from Somalia). So this trade attracts certain age range who probably psychologically at least given up on having a normal life, which makes it an alternative rather than compulsion.
  24. I have severe headache but can't get out of work today. I wish it snowed, then it won't be at cold after and we could have a loooooooong weekend; I feel like going away for the weekend.
