  1. I came across a speech by Dr. Cornel West in which he says; Black people never responded to White supremacist terrorism (slavery and Jim Crow discrimination) by forming a Black Al-Qaeda. They responded with Martin Luther King, Fannie Lou Hamer and Malcolm X. The world can learn from the Black Freedom struggle which is the struggle of the weak over the strong." I like Dr. Cornel, but recently he has started to branch out into Muslims and Islam and Political Islam, and I can't help but notice huge gaps in his views. I saw this interview on Al Jazeera in which he was on a very thin line between being insulting / rude. In this speech what particularly bothers me about this quote is the blank generalisation of Muslims, comparing Islam/ religion with a race course and ignoring the background for each conflict/ issue. Not to mention that the black agenda is America was grounded on at least the same principles/ struggle. What is a Muslim response? guerrilla warfare such as the Mad Mullah, the Chechnya resistance, the stone throwing kids in Palestine? Are those not too interlinked with nationality and survival rather than Muslim response. There was no Black Al-Qaeda response due to lack of resources, space and money to grow. Not to mention the advancement of technology (both in weapon& communication- allowing message to spread much faster/ further with training and available material) Most importantly Al-Qaeda was a western engineered, funded and encouraged and most of all trained. So how can it be judged as a Muslim response, when in fact it was a western tool to attack and weaken the soviet? Now neither ideology/ concept nor its finance needs western support, it is a self sustain ideology funded in Muslim countries. A comparison that would make sense would be if Americans trained segments of the black resistance, fostered a mentality of resistance against say the Europeans, defeated the Europeans or made peace with them and then forgot to follow up where the trained soldiers went. The trained soldiers with their new ideology go back to Africa; predictable and human behaviour would suggest that those trained individuals would manipulate their acquired knowledge to their perceived benefit and few rich individuals in Africa funded them. The ideology caught on like fire with the young black youth in America, at much fast/ large scale etc, then he can make the comparison. In any case, I would much rather the Muslims emulated the Zionist ideology if we want space, power and a little respect. What do you think peeps?
  2. How does "targeting Iraqi security forces and Shia civilians, but also "foreign journalists, translators and transport drivers and the economic and physical infrastructure of Iraq." fit into Salafi as an ideology? What of their principles on not fighting rulers, even if they are corrupt in order to avoid disorder and loss of life; is that not why all these Middle East ruling elites survive. Aliamos I think this thread is calling you.
  3. ^^No I am licensed to say what I think of your flawed logic, it is a forum not a school or a police station. Take it as a sisterly advice with a pinch of salt or ignore it. I'm really not bothered either way. At best it should make you reflective of your own position, at worst just words on screen.
  4. ^^^Are you giving your president away? I don't care for him so I can say that, but you are shooting yourself in the foot. What you should pick up on is that of the five trucks, one is owned by Reer LA. Imagine reer Puntiland are holding hostage one truck from LA because they got beef with Riyaal.
  5. Originally posted by Adam.: Sisters that become second/third/etc wives, or allow their husbands to have several more spouses are such ignorant WEAKLINGS. If i ever hear something like that coming out of the mouth of the person i love, i would drop her on the spot, like a brick. These polygamous brothers who have difficulty maintaining what they already are responsible for, should stop deluding themselves thinking their a 15th century Mamluk Sultan. What he said;
  6. ^^No idea but I am sure they have a naughty step for spoilers. Serenity that is always the worry, hence why I said next year, by then I'm hoping for some feed back.
  7. Loool@ quruumo kalaad la hadleysaa!! Dhubad just the first post is showing.
  8. People always like to make out that the pirates and puntland is different and have nothing to do with each other, to me it just that the father is in the government and the son is a pirate, they all go o the same home at night. The pirates were jailed by Riyaal, so go and get Riyaal as hostage, maaxa Burco iyo private trucks keeney. Burco has not done that just yet, the oodyaal are siding with the traders.
  9. I am not kidding, I was online searching for some tickets and I came across this; http://www.sunseahalal.com/ Islamic travel/ beach holidays! I was wondering when Muslim countries will notice that aside from the drunken western tourist, they should probably cater for others too, particularly the none partying, not drinking crew. Segregated swimming pools, spa, Hamam and fitness centre Kid’s play area, pools, entertainment and activities Islamic Evening entertainment including nashids, comedians and women only pamper night Water sports such as river rafting and yatching Visit to the medieval Alanya Castle and remains of a Seljuk village, the Red Tower and nearby Damlatas Caves. I am so there inshallah, next year.
  10. There should be 24/7 home delivery for cake and ice cream. I am going to cry if I don't get some tonight. ;O
  11. It is not the pirates, the area that the trucks have been taken has been for the last few years rediscovering "biliiqo" again from the pre war Somalia where clans use to steal camels. Only this time it is trucks and a few Burco truck owners/drivers have lost their life or their truck taken from them. I am really glad this has happened at a large scale because it would force some sort of pre-war inter clan agreement between the clans to protect the traders/business men. In order for this to happen, I think the vast number of MJ traders in Burco should be held hostage, both their life and wealth, so that both sides have something to lose.
  12. ^^Salam Aliamos, thanks, How are you? coping well with the bashing I see. I did not go far, but in any case I did not miss anything worthy of commenting on it would seem, everywhere people are going in circles or too hard headed to consider another point of view. Even went to the politic section out of bordom to pi$s people off. Aint we all bias about something or another anyway. I don't mind if you are not a fan for the right reason, hence why I said another thread when you decide to let out your full objections.
  13. WOW :eek: :eek: What on earth :eek: :eek: Oh my, where do I start? 1. Aliamos I have a bone to pick with you, maybe another time in another thread; your view that everything bad is salafism. (Second time I am seeing you blame something on Salafism) For one thing I am outrage that you would think this ridiculous behaviour HERE on this thread is anything close to salafism in its essence!! 2. Ashikrio and co, deenta ma idinka aya iska leh or are you its gate keepers? I don’t understand waxa idin haya, seriously. Furthermore what you are doing is wrong, both Islamicly and as the norm. If Aliamos insulted Allah as result of your provocation or Islam it is on you and you will be answerable for your sins. As for his/her personal belief in Allah or otherwise, what do you care? Save your own soul and let the rest go. Up to now I cannot say one way or another whether Aliamos is a Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Atheist, a man, a women, a child or anything else, but does it really matter in a discussion board, It is a just a username that shares some things with us. What I do know is that Aliamos understanding of Islam is above average (although I may change my mind after our Salafi discussion ) and he/she displays better character than most of you here put together. Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Part of the excellence of a person’s Islam is his leaving alone what does not concern him.” [at-Tirmidhi and others] IF I knew that Aliamos was NOT a Muslim for certain, I would still be proud that they are open minded enough to know the difference and systems of Islamic universities and have good things to say about them, it is a credit to Islam and the institute. Imagine if your white boss told you not only has he heard about this Islamic universities but he thinks this one is the best for this reason or that. Would you not have hope in your heart that perhaps one day Allah might guide him or he might be inclined to study what these institutes teach? Or be proud that for so long a Islamic university is accredited, acknowledge by both East and West. 3. Most importantly, Anwar all the best to you brother inshallah may allah aid you in your effort and make you one who uses their experience and knowledge wisely. I know people in both if you are in need of some friends, I can look them up for you. Good luck and all the best!
