Oba: No, not at all. I can normal tell the members who are performing much like a peacock in search for mating partner- people act in extremist in the hope of attracting a partner here. So, certain behavior, insulting and bashing here makes perfect sense (proofing how Somali or religious one is compared to others etc- it is only fair those who the performs was put on for respond in kindness). With that said, Aaliya, dont take it personal, we are just in the way of the show, kinda blocking as it were. On a serious note I agree with you. I've heard both saying- I use to use the same one you write laakin people here keep correcting me to use the one I wrote. Oh well, you get the meaning. Nuune- I highly doubt it, but all those jiin kids is beyond a Somali qaalanjo.
-
Oh My God, white revert aa la isku heestey- Now you are on about marrying Jiins. 100% Somali Jiin nevertheless of course! Ninkii dhimaan waaya maxa aragtii kuu laaban!
-
HEy Nuune, xaagaad ka dhacadey!! I was randomly thinking the other day whatever happened to our project! lol Now I hear you are in some far places and all!. I hate Jimicisi-

Most proper Somalis waa xaraan some would say- their parents probably eloped in the miyi But then again what does anyone know about "real" Somali or not.

Lol This thread is mad! No need to insult each other- each to their own. " Waadigaanse labaati iyo luugah is la weye, meel saare lalamanyee, Liibaantaad addunyaad, ruuxna lasaan maye, maxaa lureey naftaadi" Marrying a foreigner does not first have to be WHITE or revert- there are lots of already-Muslim different races and secondly you can still have no wedding or big wedding depending on what you like as an individual. Lastly marrying a foreigner does not make you any less Somali. Imagine I married a Bangladeshi-Indian and live and work in Somaliland for the most part- who can claim to be more Somali than me Your marriage is WHAT you make of it. Anyone who decides what RACE they are going to marry BEFORE they meet the person is limiting their options. As for the original question on colours. I prefer no wedding, I'd rather be sitting at my house watching TV then posing uncomfortably on a stage bullied by old relatives. But the colour and style must fit your body- no point squeezing into a white dress and looking like a vera wang boat. P.s. On a different note- the mehr for a wedding I am going to in Hargeisa is 900g of gold- that is like $47,000. I asked the guy why, he said this is for show, laakin wey iga saamixi. Is that even normal!!?

^I live in SL now- C now means "3aa" so ama waa gloves or kloves but no longer 3loves. North: I get sick when I take a few days off and try to be lazy. It is punishment for being lazy I am sure. Anigo aan waxaba qaabi I woke up at 12, the other day and then stayed in bed watching the Big Bang Theory, wasting a whole 24hrs on nothingness. This must be my punishment. I had a flu through out my 4 week holiday. There must be a correlation between idle lazy and flu. How is family and Saudi? I saw on the news a preacher was order to pay blood money for raping and torturing his baby daughter to death- caku yaa akhas!

Somaliland: Airport Levy and Security Bill Approved
Ibtisam replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
IT used to be that Somalis- regardless of WHERE in the Somali inhabited areas they come from or which Somali passport they carry are charged the same $10 entry fee. It makes no difference IF you are a Somalilander if you are carrying a foreign non Somali passport for your travel you pay $34 entry visa on your foreign passport and the same amount when leaving. Unless you have a multiple entry Visa or a residence (in which case you pay $14 each way). The bank is no longer based there, so no more exchanging anything. You pay in dollars or SL for your visa and go. The other proposed change in this legislation is for ALL passports other than Somaliland's passports to pay the foreign fees. So the various Somalia passports including the OLD Somalia passport and Djibouti will pay the same as the British, where as before just for being Somali they paid the same as Somalilanders. This $10 security handling fee, plus the $34 is still only $44 which is well in line with International Standards. I'm glad the exchange thing is gone though- although now you are forced to give the guys who carry your bags $ instead of your exchanged SL. -
SalamAlikum. In bed with the flu. I think it is trying to kill me, slowly and with a intense headache and ears ringing as well as well-meaning people persistently trying to tell me: 1- Eat gloves- or heat yourself with gloves in hot water 2- Eat Hilib and Maraq 3- Honey, sinjiblee and xaabta al soota 4- Sleep it off.

Why would it be surprising or even matter IF there were Somali Jews? We probably have Somali Zionists too.
-
Lol at how much is the pay! lol Me, I would not settle for anything less than Japan, or Cambodia or Fiji or Thailand- I mean it needs to fit in with my travel plans. Runti cidwalba diplomat ma noqon karo, you can't tell the truth or indha fara ka geeli dadhka.. I'll pass.

Too much attention given to this warning. Wiix teegaya haa taago. They left last year, and then returned a month later. What does it matter- politics or not. It will blow over as usual if not, it wont make much of different. IT might even lead to some local job creation as foreigners leave. The hotels, SPU and airlines will probably feel it the most.

lol Really you say qualification, qualification and then Cali Mahdi and Geedi are head to head for UK. you are kidding right? warlords recycled as diplomats. Im sure when they realise that it involves a different art than weaponry they will quit. Good luck to the old and the new.

New Hospital opened in hargeysa Somaliland +PICS
Ibtisam replied to Xaaji Xunjuf's topic in Politics
Juxa, North it is a teaching facility, only suppose to have 34 beds- of which only enough funding to complete 8 beds. The hospital will therefore open with 8 bed, outpatients, and teaching. Meanwhile funding is needed for the rest of the beds/wings. -

North ALL of the funding came from various organisations, individuals and a small percentage by the Italian government. In fact they have run out of funding for three wings and a new fundraising is being organised. However problems have arise with the Italian team being evacuated, which means everything is being left behind for the time being and fund raising initiative frozen. -
YES. I looked identically to this Indian cast/ sect that live in south India! They could have all been me in different ages, identically twins, brothers, and or parents. I a, sure I was stolen from that cast as a child- impossible that I was not!
-
Hello Oodweyne! I do agree, but I dont think they are making any agreement as such, other than to give the talks a chance- at least the last time around, the immense pressure from the UK was, play along and we will humour your cause. I do agree with you that if they do eat cake which is given for a very specific reason- then the coffee must be drunk. But I am not sure if they are ordering that type of cake yet. Weeli shah io biyo ayaa la waada, but soon enough the cake will arrive- maybe after a year of peace and barris in the south. I would be amazed if SL politicians can give in so easily though.

The so called 3rd way means just maintaining the current status- the reality is two different administrations, it is a transition phase, you cannot make a phase permanent. I kind of agree with Rahima, particularly since moving to Hargeisa, it is a lot easier to dismiss or hear verbally what problems and grievances people have and take it lightly, however it is a different matter seeing the victims who are still very much bitter and their kids who are just as bitter as them. In any case I think Somalis have as a side effect of war become very selfish and individualistic, therefore any grouping will have problems, as it is impossible for a state to function as a state while appeasing all sub clans. The ancient old problem of not the best man for the job but the best placed. Even now SL is struggling with the balance and Somalia is also finding this balance difficult. Imagine one pot for all these competing interests. I am against any roads that lead BACK to chaos for both Somalia and Somaliland. Let the pain, hurt and grievance settle, let the peace and normality, functionality and the notion of legality, rule of law, state etc settle and for people to become trusting of that. Only then can any serious dialogue happen, before then it is just premature and counter productive. Donor pressured meetings wont achieve anythings, Somalis will attend, smile at each other, take the money and then do what they wish after. lol
